Power Upgrade explanation and templates.
Power Upgrades: Power upgrades come in two forms, normal upgrades, which consist of existing abilities developing and improving, be it an outright increase in a power (such as a telepath being able to read minds from further away, super strength lifting more etc) or a power developing in such a way that it can be used in a new manner (such as super strength letting a person jump long distances, or a telepath putting placing information into a person's brain, like a skill).
The other form of power upgrade is the "Secondary Mutation," this is the development of a totally fresh power in a mutant and while sometimes it is related to a mutants primary power (such as the rapid change of Beast's mutation making him into a feline being). Other examples include the development of Emma Frost's "diamond" form and Polaris's size growth.
When requesting an upgrade, only one of these may be chosen at a time, and the secondary mutation may only be requested once. The new power gained from that may later on be enhanced by the power upgrade.
Aside from Power upgrades, there are also Skill Updates, these refer to characters getting better at their skills as time goes on, from fighting and combat to pilot planes or helicopters, to playing instruments and anything other skill.
