Chance arched a brow and he put his elbows on the table and leaned forward. "Not every guy thinks to leave a 'Thank you for banging me' note. Hell I don't even know any guy who would. What do you want? Had it been a date, something that we had set up, I would have been there in the morning. Sorry, I'd never heard of random hook ups having ettiquette attached to them. I'll keep that in mind" This was ridiculous, she was pissed because he didn't leave her a thank you note.
"I'm not going to bear my soul to a stranger. Sex, no matter how good, does not make this a relationship. Hell, we weren't even supposed to see each other again." Chance just leaned back and shook his head. What the hell was she wanting from him? Reassurance that she was good in bed? He hadn't left after the first time and stayed for a few more, that should have been a clue.

She sighed and hung her head, she was obviously feeling a little bit like a twelve year old drama queen, not getting the attention she wanted from the highschool hottie. In a change of tone and a fairly quiet breath, she apologised. "I'm sorry...It's been a rough week for me." She began to realise the only reason that she was making a big deal out of this was that she wanted to be shown true affection, regardless if it was from him, or a stranger on the street. Being hated by her family has had concequences on her self esteem.

Chance sat back and studied her quietly, never even looking up when the food was placed down in front of them. He nodded to the waiter that they were good and looked back at her. "Look, I don't mean to sound harsh and cruel. But I wasn't expecting this. I mean yeah the sex was great, but I didn't think I had to tell you. The fact that I stayed as long as I did and did as many times as we did, should have been a clue. I don't know what you want from me. Ever after? I'm not ready for that yet. A relationship? Do you even live in Boston? A few flings every so often? That I can do." He wanted to understand that he wasn't going to jump into a relationship just because they had sex, sex that she pretty much requested even.

"I never said I wanted a relationship from you. As you said, we live in different areas; not to mention the age difference." She nodded in appreciation to the waiter as he delievered the food, trying to ignore the conversation the male and female were having. He was probably used to all kinds of conversations at this cafe; the seedy, the angry, the beautiful. "Well, I'll admit that I did want to know more about you, but I never envisioned anything romantic, okay?"

Chance nodded and took a bite of her food. At least they got that all straightened out. After he swallowed and took drink he looked up at her. "Ever think of just asking a question? You haven't tried that yet." It came out as a smart ass comment but he hadn't meant it to. He meant it, but he was still irked about how this all started. He wiped his mouth with his napkin and looked over at him. "What are you wanting to know? My name is Chance McAllister, I was born here in Boston, I'm seventeen, I attend a private prep academy here in Boston." It wasn't technically a lie, had the students been human then it would be nothing more than a prep academy.

She screwed up, again. But there was no time for her to feel sorry for herself. She could take the cowards option and leave Chance at the table while she went on her own way; but that would leave her feeling even shitter. "Nice to meet you, Chance McAllister." With a rather joking smile, she decided she would try her best to lighten the mood. "You see, that's all I wanted to know. Doesn't that feel better?" With a smirk she turned back to her croissant and cut her way delicately into them.

Chance rubbed his forehead and then started to eat. At her comments he just nodded but occupied himself with eating. He'd lost his appetite but was eating so he wouldn't have to speak. He was literally starting to get pissed off. At her question about it feeling better, blue eyes briefly glanced up at her and then he looked back down at his food. He banked the brief flare of anger and wondered how fast he could get out of there. Finally, he set his fork down at looked at her. "No, not really. You freak out on me about not opening up to you. Then you don't even try to find anything out. I tell you something about me and you all but pat me on the head and call me a good boy."

She sat there, not even interrupting Chance while he spoke. She just ate her food, realising that she had been completely seen through for how much of a fraud she was. She was, deep down, insecure. She never wanted to admit it, but if it took a pissed off rich seventeen year old to tell her that, then she truly was stubborn and obnoxious. Poor guy had to deal with her insecurities like a flipping father or brother. She took a number of moments to process what had been said, before speaking in a almost fragile voice. "My name is Carol Danvers. I graduated from a aviation school last year, before becoming a gymnastics coach at a private school. I love the wind on a sunny day, and the freedom of the night." She looked up and gave a sort of awkward smile.

Chance looked up when she started to talk. He bite back a retort and realized she was trying to make this right again. it was going to take him time to calm down fully but at least he didn't have the urge to tell her to screw off. Not yet, it really depended on if she reverted back to the clingy, demanding woman she'd become. "I like animals, I like studying them and learning about their habits and, well, their cultures." He looked back down at his plate, the anger ebbing out of his eyes, but his jaw muscle was still ticking. He wanted to see how she was going to play this because this was one game he was not going to play.

Something was changing, the sun was beginning to shine through the dark grey clouds as they began to lighten up and talk about each other. She occasionally looked up, knowing that he wanted to end the conversation, but she could still sense the disgust lessening as he began to relax and vent. "I'm much more of a trendy bar person. I've been taken to clubs, but never really got into them. To me, relaxing with drinks to good music is the way to go." She made sure not to make it too personal, lest she cross a line that she had pretty much already shit all over.

Blue eyes flicked up and then back down to his plate. "For true dates, I prefer more private settings. Just hanging out a good dance club works for me. Keeps it informal and allows for a person to just relax and have fun." He took another sip of his drink and then another bite of his food. He'd be waiting for the other shoe to drop and to him that sucked, because the sex had been awesome. He wasn't sure if he'd go that route with her again, but then he wasn't writing anything off. He hadn't thought they'd do it the first time around. Who knows? Maybe she'll surprise him.

Well, as nice and chirpy as the scene was, Carol was running out of options. There was a line that she was coming closer and closer to crossing. So, she figured it was time to break the trend and go from a different angle. "What kind of cuisine are you into?" She had taken the risk to ask him a question, and she doubted he'd just pick up his things and leave. Maybe she really had got out of the hole she dug herself.

Chance looked up at her question. "Honestly? Home cooked with lots of food. I might eat at the fancy restaurants, but I'd take a full you barbeque any day. What about you? Fancy shmancy or do you like real food? I'll eat the fancy stuff because that's what I'm supposed to do. I hate caviar and pate with a passion, but I can choke them down and look like I love it." God he hated those boring stuffy affairs that he had to attend with his parents. The rubber chicken always sent out for pizza afterwards.

"Thai. Nothing beats a top quality curry at a nice resturant." Taking a small sip from her glass of water, she leaned slightly forward on the table; her confidence returning to her. "And you know what I've noticed? The service at Thai Resturants is way above any other kind of resturant that I've been to. Sure, they hassle you none stop; but it shows they are considerate." Although, she guessed Chance must have experienced some five star service whilst dining with his rich parents at some point.

Chance nodded, he wasn't much into curry himself but his Nans loved it. "I prefer when the waitstaff knows when to show up and when to stay back. Hover and I don't leave a good tip, ignore me and you don't get squat. Unless they are extremely busy then I can understand that." He watched her lean forward as he finished off the rest of his meal. He moved the plate aside and leaned forward on his elbows. "I'm going costume shopping, are you going to join me or are we just going to end this now?"
