Night time in New York City was always exciting and teeming with life. It also could be a very dangerous place with all the criminals lurking, waiting to strike. That’s why people like Anya Corazon existed, to keep the peace and protect the everyday man and woman from lowlifes. Donning her classic attire, white t-shirt with a spider and black skin tight pants, she used this as a makeshift costume. Anya posted at the edge of a three story building looking out at the city with a smile. It felt so relaxing being up here with the wind gently blowing through her hair. She kicked her legs out as they dangled over the edge. Her mind wandered on about what she was going to have for dinner later on when she got home. She was on a strict 11:00 curfew and wasn’t about to break it.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of an alarm going off, just as she expected. Guess some morons decided to try and rob a little convenient store. Anya looked at her watch, 9:30. Plenty of time to kick some bad guy butt. She stood up, dusted herself off, and placed those trademark goggles onto her eyes. ”Alright, here we go.” Anya ran for a few seconds parallel with the building then dove off at the end. During her freefall, she tossed her bola hooking it to a street light. She continued this until she was in range of the convenient store.
Just in time too since the bad guys were coming out of the store and heading for their getaway car. Anya retracted her bola and landed right on the hood of the car crushing it completely. The impact flung of the bad guys from the car and into the street. "You baddies aren't going anyway!"

It was a normal morning, getting up, eating breakfast then go to work. In the middle the day eat lunch and work some more. If he had free time, which he almost never had, flirt with a girl, maybe even two. Then go home and read his book for a few hour while eating some dinner and let the t.v make some noise with rants on the news. Another boring day passed on by, when he looked out the window it was already night. "Time sure passes by when your having so much fun." He stated dryly and sarcasticly to himself. He stands up and walks over to the fridge only to see it was empty, again. "Looks like I forgot to go grocery shopping again." He said with a sigh. He goes to his room puts on a black shirt, leaving it unbuttoned over his white muscle shirt. And heads out to the nearest store.
He decides to walk instead of drive to the store, tonight was much more lively then usual. So it would be a pain to drive through all the traffic. As closed to the store he sees a teen crush on top of a car. 'Now you don't see that everyday. Then again this is New York.' To avoid conflict he chooses only to enter the store and not to join in the fight. But sees the store in ruin and the clerks focused on the girl and the burglars. He hears them speak among themselves about the girl coming to help them. 'Why me?' He walks out of the store. He couldn't just let a girl fight by herself. "Well....Well. I come to get some food and instead I see a store run down and a prolonged night." He stands behind the men. "So....Whose first?" He taunted the burglars.

Anya looked up from the wreckage that was once a car upon hearing a voice. Her eyes rested on a young man standing by one of the criminals. Hmm, who was this kid and what did he think he was doing. This was Anya's job, she was used to this sort of thing. She was trained for it even. "Hey guy, stay on the sidelines. No civilians should be getting involved in this little conflict. Let me handle it." As she spoke, she heard the familiar click of a gun being loaded.
She immediately turned to her left, a blue exoskeleton formed over her body just in time as one of the crooks fired on her. The bullet nailed her right in the shoulder and harmlessly crumpled to the ground. "Big mistake pal." Anya leaped towards the guy delivering a fierce punch to his gut followed by an elbow to the back of his head. The man grunted in pain below falling the ground unconscious. One down one to go.

Did she just---Did jusy just call him a kid? She looked younger than him if not the same age as him. Maybe he just heard wrong so he didn't mention anything about it. He looks at her as an exoskeleton formed around her body and have a bullet bit it seconds later. What surpised him as the bullet did absolutely no damage. Then sees her fiercely beat down one of the guys. "Now that is something you don't see everyday." He said softly. The other guy was smart enough to run away, but was dumb enough to run into a closeline, which force him to fall down. While keeping his eyes on the girl, curb stomps him in the ribs with his foot. "Who are you exactly miss? Other than someone who likes smashing into cars and beating up bad guys?"

As Anya turned her attention to the remaining criminal, she noticed that the other guy was already on the job. A nice clothesline followed by a good stomping put that baddie in his place. Anya retracted her exoskeleton as she picked up the criminal at her feet. She tossed to the side of the car, retrieved the other criminal from under the man’s foot and tossed him next to the other. ”I’m a crime fighter!” She casually removed a door from the car and crushed it to a thin size. She took the metal and wrapped it around the criminals to keep them from running off. With a smile she flipped over to the young man. ”The name’s Araña and this is my jurisdiction. I help keep civilians safe from morons like those guys. Who are you?”

"A....Crime fighter?" He said soundly. He itched his nose a bit and looked around at the damage that has been done, and began to wonder when the police would decide to show up. He let out a soft sigh and looked around once more and then look at her once more. "I'm a friendly bystander who got in the way. Names Byakurai, a few of my friends say it's hard to prounce, so you can just call me Rai. So miss Arana. This is what you doing for a living huh? That is very admirable."

"Yep a crime fighter, vigilante as the cops like to call me." She always wondered why the police thought vigilantes were bad people. They should be happy that there were others willing to do their job for free. If Anya was a cop she'd be glad to have someone in a costume busting criminals up for her while she still got paid to lounge in the squad car. Maybe it was the fact that they operated outside of the law with more freedom to do things that pissed off the cops. Anya mentally shrugged and looked at him behind those big goggles. "Nice meeting you Rai. You know somebody has to protect the citizens. Cops can't be everywhere at once. Besides doing this lets me free up some aggression," she chuckled.

"Guess so." He said with a small grin. She seemed nice enough but how long would it be until she cracks from all the pressure? "The pleasure is all mine. Good thing there is someone on these streetd protecting others." He turns and looks in the store once more too see if everyone is ok. "You know it's against the law to take the law into your own hands." He calmly but with a small chuckle.

"Yep yep, somebody has to do it. It's a great thing and helps me relax when I'm all bound up. My other job really stresses me out at times so this helps a lot with that." She crossed her arms and shifted her weight to the right. This Rai guy was pretty cute looking to her. She wasn't big on the dating scene and probably never would be, but she could appreciate a handsome guy when she came across one. Anya chuckled at his latter comment. The law was no biggie to her since she was doing something good. "Yea I know, but it's just one of those stupid laws that no one really cares about. Hey I mean, if I hadn't showed up here tonight those bozos would have gotten away with thrashing that old man's shop and his money. Cops don't react fast enough." She wasn't trying to put down law enforcement, just saying is all.

"I could only guess how much pressure you must feel." He said calmly. "The cops try to arrest you. Not all the cilivians trust to. Honestly, and to be frank with you. This job must suck." He looks at her and smiles. "Though there are people who will admire your courage and strength. And I guess that makes it worth while right?"
He smiles once more and lets out a soft sigh. "All laws are cared for and maintain a code of justice and keep the peace. Though I admit some laws need to be broken by the right people, in order to keep the peace. Just picture everyone taking the law in their own hands. Pretty chaotic right?" He grins a bit. "Well cops can't be every where can they? They are spread out rather thin as of late. The police number dwindled as of late. So it's good to see someone willing to protect others."

Truth be told, Anya wasn’t really under any pressure when she out on the job. This was the stress reliever not bringer. There was the occasional asshat that had something negative to say to her, but she didn’t let it bring her down. She would kick their ass before she let the words of someone put her in a slump. And on the issue of the cops, well there really wasn’t an issue with them. By the time they came around she would usually be gone into the night leaving behind broken baddie bodies. ”I just like to kick ass to be honest. Gratitude is just a lucky bonus.”
Well he did have a point with the chaotic part. Every moron with a gun and a chip would be out there trying to keep crime down. Then again that could be a good thing. Criminals would most definitely think twice about committing any crimes, afraid of getting their heads blown off. Anya raised her goggles onto her head to look at him better. ”Yeea, I’ve always been willing to protect people since I was little. So, what made you get involved?”
