Sara had needed to take a walk. As far as she knew, she had left Lucas back at the hotel the chose and told him she wanted to go have a look around. Her shoulder wasn't hurting so bad anymore, surprisingly Lucas had been taking good care of it. He had a soft touch and that caused her to smile. Then she frowned and wandered where that warm feeling came from.
Bender tugged her cap down lower as she walked down Broadway. The girl never looked up as her head was still too jumbled with confusing thoughts. She was pretty sure she hated Lucas for how he keeps embarrassing her, but at the same time she found she liked the attention. Sara had found herself wanting to kill him but kiss him at the same time. Hell she actually kissed him while he was sleeping the other night. A hand reached up and tugged the cap down even lower. If it was in her nature she'd have been walking slumped with her head down. But that wasn't Bender, she was a cadet damn it. Her back was straight and her head was high.
The young girl stopped when she spotted a couple of girls and guys about her age. The guys looked like they were just there because the girls wanted them to be. The girls were chatting and all excited about a play they were going to see. Sara stopped and leaned against the wall of one of the buildings and watched the group. What she didn't realize was she was taking in how the girls acted and how they dressed. Save for her dress uniform, Sara had never worn a skirt in her life. Hell, one of the other girls had to do her make up when ever they'd have an award ceremony and she always skipped the dances. She didn't know how to be a girl, damn it. With a soft growl she pushed herself off the wall and started walking again.
