Walking into the lounge after finishing setting up his room, class, and getting his first few lesson plans finished he felt it was time to get into something more relaxing. Opening his bag he pulled an unmarked bottle filled with a nice amber colored liquid within. Smiling to himself he kissed the bottle softly as he got out of his regular clothes. Sliding on a pair of jeans with a blown out knee and a black tank, he slid into a pair of black boots. Picking up lastly a thick, leather banded watch he grabbed the bottle and headed out of his room as he made his way towards the rec room. Putting the watch on he checked the time to make sure he wasn't out when too many students should be up, being late in the night he figured he should be safe.
Walking into the room he smiled softly as he pulled a black hair tie out of his pocket, and proceeded to pull the front of his hair back off his forehead. He had seen the pool table earlier and felt like playing a few rounds even alone it was a nice way to relax remembering his days back in the darker side of Lexington. He chuckled as he quickly got himself set up for a game of 9 ball. Checking the cue's and whistling to himself at the quality he shook his head slowly as he chalked up the tip slightly. Blowing off the excess carefully he leaned down and pulled his arm back for the break. "Well, this has been an interesting day. Wonder how the night will turn out." This little said to no one in particular as the sound of the pool balls rocketed around.

Well... It very well should have been safe... All students should have been safely tucked into their beds... But one seemed to not quite have realized that or something... It was true. Dakota Taylor had been up late studying in the Rec room. Sure enough it wasn't very far into the term, but she saw no harm in reading up on the classes she was taking. She wanted to make sure not to fall behind. Just one problem with that... The young girl had fallen asleep!
So there the small girl lay, curled up upon one of the couches in the rec room. This couch was facing away from the pool table, so unless someone was looking straight there, they were not likely to see the small girl. But there she was, dozing and using one of her schoolbooks as a makeshift pillow. The others were in a neat stack beside her on the floor. For the moment all was calm with her, and no one seemed to see fit to awaken her to tell her to go to bed, so she simply slept soundly.
She slept through the professor's arrival as he walked in and even as he set up his pool game and spoke to himself. And yet it was when he began his game, hitting the cue ball toward the others so nicely set up, and hit them with a loud crack, that she shot upwards in surprise, looking around with shock and confusion, garnished with just a bit of bewilderment written all over her features. She soon saw the Professor and her eyes shot wide. She looked to a window of the rec room seeing the darkness outside, and then looked to a dainty, small watch she wore, gasping a bit. "Oh goodness... I had no idea how late it was..." Indeed her voice was soft, even softer than normal, and quickly the words spilled out. It very well may have been dificult to understand her.
She looked up nervously to the adult in the room, not sure what the rules on curfew here were. "I-I-I'm sorry! I guess I fell asleep..." She turned a bright pink as she stated the obvious, closing her book and gathering the stack beside her, quite uncoordinated as she did, and ending up dropping all the books around her. She turned an even brighter shade of crimson and stopped, trying to keep herself calm. Goodness it wouldn't do to suddenly snap into some random form right in front of this person she didn't even know.

He looked up in surprise as someone jumped off the couch. Next time he had to remind himself to check all the couches. Grabbing the tumbler quickly he put it out of sight with the bottle and turned around once more. "I do apologize dear, I didn't mean to wake you from your slumber, although I am sure that a more than adequate bed has been provided for you for just such a reason." He sighed softly as he shook his head. Had to keep his distance since he already had a sip of his whiskey. Great, just what he needed the students thinking their new computer instructor was a lush.
"I am the new Computers Science Instructor Alexander Morgana and you would be?" He waited for an answer, knowing that it might take her a minute to remember what her name was since she didn't wake up in her bed and might be a disgruntled for that reason, but he was going to make sure to know her name at least before he left this Rec Room.

Dakota had not even registered the bottle was there, nor the tumbler. Goodness and she really wasn't certain she would care either way. Dakota was of the impression that drinking a little bit here and there was not a bad thing. Though she had not tried any herself. She shook her head a bit as she tried hard to clear it, oblivious of his actions. She looked up when she heard his words, meeting his gaze and remaining that slight shade of pink. "Oh no no it's my fault... Yea... I shouldn't have fallen asleep out here..." It hadn't exactly been her intent, and indeed it made it so she was out way later than curfew, but the one before her didn't seem to mind much.
She grinned a bit as he even gave his name and what he did here. She thought for a moment, trying hard to regain her composure and thought processes. Indeed he thought right. It would take her a second to wake up and get more oriented. But soon she started to get it and sat back on her knees, placing hands lightly upon her thighs as she blinked a few times. Goodness the clueless look fit her. But she finally grinned a bit to him. "Dakota Taylor. And I have your class tomorrow, sir." She grinned as she thought of her schedule, which she was in the process of memorizing. "Nice to meet you." She nodded a bit as she was quickly realizing where she was and why she had been there.

"A pleasure as well, to meet a soon to be student." He grinned slowly as he leaned down and took aim sending the two ball rocketing to a corner pocket. "Fell asleep studying huh? Well there is worse things to fall asleep while doing. Trust me I've fallen asleep doing worse things." He chuckled and then realized that he probably shouldn't be bringing that up right at the moment. At least not with his company. Shaking his head he chuckled again as he tapped the side pocket with the cue ball and used the opposite rail to pop the three ball into the pocket.
Looking up quickly before his next shot he chuckled at her lost expression as it was clearing up slowly. "Well, I believe detention is the punishment for breaking curfew." He fired his next shot and smiled, he hadn't lost the touch yet. "Yet, as I have not taken my post yet, I feel that at least for tonight I will let it slide."

Dakota grinned brightly up to him as she did indeed start to get her bearings and understand what was going on. Goodness she had been out... She nodded in response to his greeting and smiled warmly up at him. So he was to be one of her teachers? She hadn't met a whole lot of people around here quite yet, but she was meeting them slowly. So far she had only met a couple formally. And that was her new friend Chance, and Tarot, the one who found her. And of course Emma Frost, whom she'd been taken to see. (Havn't really had a thread to meet her, but I'm going to guess that by now she would have.) And now she has met a teacher of hers.
She watched him now, sitting up a bit and leaning forward against the back of the couch, watching him play pool, quite curiously. She loved watching pool, the way the cue ball smacks into the others, sending them all over the table. Though when she played it ended up disasterous most of the time... She was well known for her uncanny ability to flip the balls off the table. She grinned at the thought. Her eyes widened a little as she watched his game. Goodness he was quite good indeed.
She looked up to him again and grinned a bit at his comment, tilting her head a little. "Worse things? Like what?" Oh of course... Curiosity killed the cat, but what did it do to the dingo? Indeed she was terribly curious after a comment like that... She looked to him expectantly, wondering if he would tell her, and more importantly, what...
Yet that thought was quickly sent from her mind as he looked up to meet her gaze. She winced a bit, glancing away as her sunglasses were not on her face. They were off to the side on the couch. So he would be able to see her brightly mismatched eyes. The right a bright green and the left a bright blue. She would move to grab her sunglasses placing them over her eyes anyway. Yet she froze once she did and looked up at him with a deer in the headlights look as he spoke of punishment. Surely she couldn't get detention before she had started classes! She tensed up, but soon grinned in relief as he said he would let it slide. "Oh... Ok." She smiled a bit and nodded. "Thanks... I don't think I could explain to mom and dad how I got detention before school even started for me..." She laughed shakily, shaking her head some. She had always been the good kid indeed, so it would be interesting to explain.

He laughed softly as he tapped the opposite corner with the cue, sending the five straight into the pocket he looked shook his head slowly. "My dear have confidence in your abilities and find the beauty in the difference of things. As such what I mean to say is be proud of your eye's for they are quite fetching for a girl your age. You shouldn't hide them behind sunglasses. Unless you are a huge fan of a bad Corey Hart song." He shook his head realizing a moment too late she probably didn't have a clue who Corey Hart was. Well, he would leave it at that for now, and he sure the hell wasn't going to explain the time he fell asleep while doing rated X events with the world's coldest fish. Shaking his head remembering the experience when he woke up wasn't a very good thing.
"Six and seven corner pockets respectively." Sending the cue ball flying forward he split the six and seven, and smiled when the six went where he wanted it to, but shook his head when the seven popped out and went wide. "Damn,.........sorry darn......I used to make that shot every time." Shaking his head slowly he taps a back pocket and snaps the seven quickly. "Glad my Mother didn't see that shot." Shakes his head as he smiles softly. "Well Ms Taylor, what makes you want to take Computer Sciences?"

Dakota watched him hit the ball right into the pocket. Indeed he had wonderful aim... She smiled softly, though his words would bring her gaze up to his in surprise from behind those glasses. She blinked a few times, unseen to him, in confusion. This was the first compliment she had on her eyes... Sure enough she hadn't had many unplesant words said about them, and yet... She still felt uncertain and worried about what people may think of them... Though her teacher to be's words made her smile a bit. Indeed... She had no clue who Cory Hart was, but she would remove her sunglasses tentitavely, blinking a couple times to get her eyes accustomed to the light of the room again and setting them down upon the books. "You really think so? I-I've never been sure of them... They're... Differant..." She nodded slightly as she bit her lit, but then grinned a little as she thought of where she was.
A question would suddenly pop into her mind, but was put on hold as he hit the two pool balls, one sliding right into the pocket, the other having a mind of it's own and rolling away. She fought hard to hold back a giggle as he cursed and spoke of it before shaking her head a bit in response. "It happens to the best of us." She nodded and grinned all the more. She tilted her head a bit, curious as to why he was glad his mother had not seen that... But for now she would keep that to herself. His next question made her think for a moment and she smiled some. "Hmm... Not really sure... I've always been interested in anything to do with computers. Never been real good with them, but I figured if there's a computer class, it's for me. So I thought I'd give it a try." She nodded and smiled brightly before tilting her head a little. "Sir... What is your power? If you don't mind my asking?" Indeed the question that had plagued her a few moments ago would finally come out, her gentle gaze fixed quite firmly upon him, curiosity sparking in her young mind. She wanted to learn about all the different powers out there.

Walking over he turns on a cd player to a song titled 'I wear my Sunglasses at Night', "This my dear is Corey Hart, and rather bit of a bore." He smiled once she asked him about her eyes. Shaking his head slowly he looks right at her. "My dear have you ever eaten the same thing day in and day out, and then someone gives you something different. Something that generally you don't like to eat. That first bite is the most delicious taste you have ever had, and yet you know you don' t like the ingredients in the meal. The world would be very boring if there wasn't any differences in the world my dear, and a wise man enjoys those differences.
He laughed when she told him it happens, and he knew she was true so he just allowed the truth of the statement to win over the day. Yet, he was a bit surprised by her boldness to come right out and ask him about his ability. "Well, there is server security, computer builds, and many other little details. Now, if you are asking me what my mutant powers are." He smiles as he reaches up a hand to the light fixture and starts to draw the light and heat out of the bulb. Refocusing the power within him he points his finger directly at the cd player, releasing a white beam from his finger smoke starts to appear as the beam starts to melt the plastic front plate. "I can absorb light and the heat the light absorbs and magnify it to a certain degree. I like to think of it as the ability to control light."

Dakota watches him curiously. She watched as he moved over to the CD player and pushed play on a song she had never heard before. She listened intently to it before grinning a bit and shaking her head a little. "Well it would seem I am a fan of such songs." She laughed a little. "Though it does seem silly to wear sunglasses at night..." She smiled a bit more as she heard him speak of his analogy. She nodded some in response as she thought about it. "I guess you're right... Everything being the same will get quite dull... Including eyes I suppose... I just... Not everyone smiles upon differences... And not everyone is wise..." She thought about it for a moment and grinned a little. "But I guess I would preffer to surround myself with wise people, so if they don't like it, they can just... Leave?" She nodded a little as she thought about this. She would glance at her sunglasses and decide to leave them alone for the time being, and not wear them so often... At least not around Alex... She was still likely to be self conscious about them and wear them pretty often, and when she shifted out of forms, likely she would forget.
Dakota was slightly worried about her own boldness in coming straight out to ask Alex about his powers. Indeed, she wasn't sure if this was not allowed or what... She figured that she was in a school of mutants, so it wouldn't be as taboo to talk about here... But still, she wasn't sure if this was a touchy subject for some. But soon she heard him speak of his abilities. She grinned hearing his less... Mutant abilities and nodded a bit in response. It made sense as to why he was the Computer teacher. Well she would soon watch as he demonstrated his powers. She grinned a little as the light went out. (I'm assuming? Or did he just absorb some of it?) And then the white beam was aimed at the cd player. She gasped a bit as the front plate melted and shook her head a little. "Woah that is neat!" She grinned a bit and nodded a little. "I turn into animals. Sometimes I can't control it though, so if I get super emotional then I will randomly shift into random animals I've seen..." She grinned shyly and nodded some as she thought about her power.

(Yeah the lights dim a bit when he absorbs it)
He smiled as she didn't put the glasses back on, and that made him feel a bit better. He had already started in helping a student if not with a computer, then with herself. He took the eight ball into a corner pocket and smiled before he tapped a pocket away from the nine and bounced it off of four bumpers before it slide into the pocket he picked. "Well, isn't that interesting, I haven't hit that shot in years." He chuckled a bit as he looked up and grinned. "So Ms Taylor my abilities are to absorb light and the heat that the light generates and act as a bit of a magnifying glass and focus it into a Heat ray of sorts. Kinda like what kids will do with ants on the sidewalk, just in a much larger scale. Yet, I know my powers are not based on heat cause once I was able to bend the light around me." So he shrugged cause it was a trick he had never been able to do since.
He doubled checked the CD player to make sure no permanent damage had been done to the machine, and just superficial damage to the casing. Either way he was happy that the girl showed curiosity. "Let me tell you something a very wise woman once told me. The day you let what you believe is proper kill your curiosity. That is the day you die. To learn and challenge things is to live, and without the curiosity of knowing, how can you learn?" He loved that lesson cause to him it rang with so much truth that he could never argue against it. It doesn't work for everyone, but it is how he has done things in his life and it has never failed him yet.
