Ok so she had gotten overly confidant... That was the first strike against her. Today had not been her first time in the training room, trying out her powers in a battle scenario, but it had certainly been one of her worst. Dingo... The walking clutz! Ok so not usually. Normally she was very sure footed and graceful... Ok what was she kidding... She was about half and half... But in the traing room she had certainly not been her graceful half. She had been just about to shift into one of her many forms, of her own accord even... When she found a piece of rubble with her foot, tripped right into a jagged piece of the scenery, nailing her head upon a sharp place and landing on her wrist, hard.
So Dakota looked like quite the war casualty... Head wounds tended to bleed profusely, and the wrist was at the very least sprained. Now the head wound wasn't all that bad, but she had been told to get herself right to the Infirmary. By now the head wound had stopped bleeding, but goodness her wrist hurt... So she would trudge through the doors of the infirary, glancing around with an annoyed expression on her face. "Couldn't even shift into another form and finish the exercise..." She mumbled slightly to herself as she continued to scan the area for Amber.

Thankfully, it had been a slow day for Amber. At least until the kids got out of the training area. She rolled her neck and got up from looking through the medical programs of local tech, colleges. She'd like to discuss it with Emma to see if it was alright for her to take the courses. Unless of course they gave some here. She poured herself a cup of coffee and turned slightly when she heard the door to infirmary. The brunette peeked her head out to see who it was and nearly dropped her cup. "Oh, Sweetie..."
After setting her cup down she came fully into the room. She patted the table. "Get up here, Honey." The head wound had her worried the most. "Tell me where all it hurts first. Then I'll get to fixing it." As much as she'd hate to do it, she'd have to save the head injury for last. Amber couldn't guarantee that she'd have all of her faculties if she did that one first.

Indeed the wrist hurt worse than the head wound. The head wound really wasn't that bad. Not even very deep... It was just pretty ghastly looking, considering it was there on the head. Dakota was more miffed about her silly blunder and not being allowed to shift and work through it. But she understood... If she continued, she could mess up whatever she hurt more permenantly. It was true. If she got hurt in one form and shifted, she wouldn't carry the wounds from one form to the next, but she would be much more weakened due to the wound in the next form.
Well she would look around the infirmary quietly. She had never been here before... But soon enough she saw Amber. She grinned sheepishly, knowing she couldn't look very good at the moment. But she would nod a little in response to her words, and move over to the table as she was told. She winced as she automatically tried to use her right hand to hoist herself up on the table, but changed her mind and used her left. She looked to Amber and rose her right arm a little. "My wrist hurts pretty bad... And my head too." She nodded a bit and rose her left hand to touch, wincing a little. "I think I cut it on something... And I fell on my wrist, and twisted it funny..." Her wrist didn't look bad, so very likely it was just a sprain, just maybe a tiny fracture, but probably not. "Yea... I didn't quite shift form in time... Though it's kind of hard when you're distracted with falling down..." She laughed a little and nodded. Well it seemed the girl was still in alright spirits.

The young healer watched as the little girl got up on the table. The poor thing. She listened as the girl explained what hurt and she nodded. "Let's start with the wrist." With that her hands started glowing a blue-silver and she smiled at the young girl. Gently she took the young girl's wrist in her hands and let the healing begin. She felt the sprain enter her own wrist and had to let go with that hand. She didn't whimper or grimace though she wanted to. It tended to make people feel bad.
Once that was done, she took a breath and smiled at the young girl. "One down, and one to go." She winked and with her left hand still glowing, she touched the injury on the girls head. This one made her eyes water a bit, but she still refused to show any other sign of pain. The wound started to close on the girl's head and formed on Amber's. "There you go, Sweetie. All better." She needed to sit down before she got too overly dizzy.

Dakota offered her a smile, trying hard not to let her see that the wrist was bugging her as bad as it was. She bit her lip lightly as she managed to get on the table, and as Amber said she's start with the wrist, she'd offer it to her. She smiled shakily to her, though as the blue silvery light engulfed it, she felt it feel better almost instantly. Though Amber let go of her wrist with the hand that had been hurting her... This confused Dakota a bit, but she remained quiet.
She hadn't yet figured out how Amber's healing worked, only that it did so well... Yet when she moved on to the girl's head wound, Dakota would gasp as it appeared on her head. "Oh man! I'm sorry ma'am really I am... I'll never get hurt again honest..." Yea right... But the sweet girl couldn't stand seeing people hurt... She would certainly have rathered stay hurt than see someone else get hurt because of her. She bit her lip a little but would rub her wrist where it had been sprained, and then run her hand over her forehead, eyes wide. "Thank you." She had realized she was too worried for her that she hadn't even thanked her properly.

Amber had a funny feeling that if she had warned the girl how her powers worked, that she would have left before the healer could have done her job. Once the girl was fixed up, Amber carefully moved over to another table and picked up a towel to staunch the blood from the head wound. "Don't worry about it, Sweetheart. It's how my powers work. I'll heal much faster taking on your injuries than I would if I had my own." It didn't take long for the blood to stop flowing and she tossed the towel into a bin. Then she made her way over and cleaned up the rest of the blood off her head and then washed her hands, being careful with her right wrist.
"I would rather you guys come to me than have to suffer. So don't ever hesitate, alright?" She didn't want the poor girl so freaked out that she'd deal with the pain instead of coming to someone who could help her. The wooziness was already fading and both injuries should be completely gone in a day or two.

Indeed, Dakota certainly wouldn't have let Amber heal her if she knew it would cause her pain... Dakota was quite the caring little thing indeed... She couldn't stand to see others in pain and would much preffer to be in pain herself... And yet she had to pause to think... Perhaps Amber was the same way? She bit her lip a little and nodded as she watched her dab the blood from her forehead. Well... She was thankful she hadn't sustained any more major injuries... But she would nod in response to her words and smile a little. "That makes sense I suppose... But wow... I really wish your powers didn't involve you getting hurt instead... You really need like... More accelerated healing or something..."
But she would nod a little and smile to her as she encouraged her not to hessitate to come to her. "Alright... I won't, but I will certainly try to be more careful..." She shivered a little bit as she wasn't sure how she was going to do that... Dakota was quite the clumsy one most of the time. Though her words did indeed ring true in her mind. It seemed Amber and Dakota shared a common feeling... Part of the reason Dakota so often got hurt was that she would often jump in the way of something about to harm someone else... She didn't directly take on their pain, but she would take their pain instead of them...
Dakota would soon hop off the table, pushing herself off with her right hand and grinned brightly when she found it didn't hurt, though that reminded her that now Amber's did... But she nodded as she knew she did it because she cared for those she watched over. Why else would she take on their pains to heal them? Goodness they just had to be sure not to all get hurt at the same time... Amber would be in trouble. Well she would walk over following her, glancing around at the room quietly. "So it heals faster... That must mean you have a bit of a healing factor right?"

Amber wrapped her wrist and smiled over at the girl. "It really is alright, Sweetie. I promise. Like I said, I'd much rather deal with yours than my own." Seriously, as much as it hurt she didn't like dealing with her own pain because she knew she'd have to take the normal healing time to get over it. When the girl asked her about the healing factor she shook her head. "Not quite, Sweetie. She looked over at her and chuckled when she was able to use her wrist to push herself off.
"You know how say you had to keep that sprained wrist and it could take like two or three days to heal?" She holds up her arm. "This will take less than twenty four hours for me. The worse the injury longer it takes. But it still won't take as long as if I had say.. broken my own leg. Hours instead of days, days instead of weeks, and weeks instead of months, kind of thing." She really hoped this wouldn't stop the little one from coming to her if she was injured.
