Maya took the chocolates and looked at them with a soft smile. He didn't have to buy her presents as soon as she returned some affection. It was just silly for her to think that some women only got with men for their money. Now that is a way to build a divorce on.
"Thanks Chance. You've gotta have some too." she said while going over to her little flat screen televison. It was only a bit bigger than her labtop screen, but it was just enought to watch movies with a friend. Maya used the money her mother thought went to the dance school for the little nescessities she wanted. It just so happened that a Sony had a sale item that fit perfectly in her budget. Included with her purchase were coupons for DVDs.
"No I think I have a few here." she said crouching down under her nightstand for the 5 cases she had. Echo stood up and fanned the cases for him to see them. "Well these are all my favorites. We've got 10 Things I Hate About You, Finding Nemo, I Robot, Forrest Gump and Fight Club"

Chance grinned at her. ”I’ll have a few. Those were a thank you for thinking to call me for help and for hanging out with me.” He set the bag of movie goodies down and looked over at the tv. They’d have to sit fairly close to really watch the screen and he really didn’t mind. Gently he touched her shoulder to get her attention. ”Just so I’m clear and don’t do anything stupid. Is this another not date date? I mean, I know you wanted me to kiss you and I wanted to kiss you but I don’t want to confuse anything.” He said the words slowly, which was an effort for him, so that she could understand what he was asking. He just hoped she understood the deeper question behind it. Was the kiss just because of the moment or did he even have a real chance here.
He sat down on the seat in front of the T.V. and thought about the movies. ”10 Things I Hate About You. I actually like that movie, I Robot isn’t bad either.” He grinned and winked at her and started unpacking the goodies. He even bought fresh hot popcorn. Finding Nemo was cute too, he didn’t care for Forest Gump and had never seen Fight Club. He figured it was safe to stick with the other two.

Maya wondered what movie he'd choose. Being a guy, he's probably throw out the best one of all, the romanitc comedy. Fight Club was the movie most guys liked to watch. It got the adrenaline running and gave her her first experience with street fighting. The girl felt his hand on her shoulder and looked up in time to see him ask her if this was an actual date.
"Yes Chance, this isn't a non date date. That is if you don't mind." she said slowly. Maya was slightly confused. She had no idea what dating a mutant was like, not that she'd even thought about actually dating Chance, but she thought it would be different than dating human males. However they were all the same. Both gave her a sense of excitment.
"Really? Okay Awesome." she said while going to put the disc into the built in DVD player. Maya sat back down on her carpeted floor and leaned on the side of her bed.

Chance looked over at her and sat down on the floor. He actually picked her up and set her between his legs, when she got done putting the movie in, so she could lean back on something other than the foot of her bed. He tipped her head back so she could see him. ”I don’t mind. You are going to set the pace for this… whatever this is, alright? You say you just want to be friends we are just friends. You say you want to try dating, we try dating. You lead and I’ll follow. That being said, you are the first girl I ever told that to.” He didn’t wrap his arms around her in case she wanted to move. It was a bit forward on his part yeah, but at least she’d be a bit more comfortable. He reached over and grabbed the snacks and drinks and set them down next to them. Hopefully she’d be happy where she was, maybe they could do a minor bit of cuddling.

The girl was suddenly picked up and situated between Chance's legs. Maya smiled a girly smile and wasn't the least bit bothered by his very forward move. Had he been thinking about her in a non platonic way even before? Maya didn't care about that now, she was just happy that she was here right now. She lifted her chin to see Chance speaking to her.
"Are you sure? Cause I've never been the pants in the relationship, ,but I would like to see if we could... not go right into dating, but possibly something that leads to that. Really, the first?" she said while leaning back on him .

The young man wrapped his arms around her waist when she settled in. He looked down at her and grinned. ”I want you to set the pace since I don’t want to overstep. We can take this as slow as you want, just if you want me to hold you or kiss you, let me know, alright?” He gave her as soft smile when she asked her question. ”Really and I don’t want to screw it up.” That was his biggest concern that he’ll accidently think they are in deeper than they really are. He stopped himself from nuzzling her neck and holding her even closer.

Oh so that is why she was going to be the regulator of this, what ever this was going to be. Maya smiled as Chance let her know that he didn't want to screw this all up. The girl leaned up and kissed him lightly on the lips.
"Don't worry, you can't screw it up. I won't let you" she grinned while looking over at the screen. It was the scene where Kat and Verona first meet. He gets shut down and she thinks he's an idiot. Oh how simplified Shakespeare got to make it amusing to the modern people. Maya liked this version much more.

Chance smiled down at her and winked. ”You don’t know, I’m a guy it could happen. I know you want to take it slow and our slow might be different from each other. Just lay the ground rules down and I’ll follow them. Like… If I can kiss you, cuddle, and things like that. When you are ready for me to act like a protective boyfriend as opposed to just a protective friend. I don’t want to push but I can easily see that happening by accident. Just know I won’t push or ask for sex, it’s not my style. That will be completely and totally up to you.”
He thought about it for a few moments and nodded to himself. ”When it comes to me I don’t mind if you want to act like or my girlfriend. I’d like to make this work and hopefully get to that point with you.” He kissed the tip of her nose and then took a drink of his soda. He didn’t know what was considered slow for her and he wanted to respect her wishes.

Maya had to look over at Chance again to see what he was saying to her. She took all of his words and melted them into one point, he liked her enough to tell her that he'd do anything for her. Basically. Maya smiled and was comforted by his remarks. This was completely different from her past relationships. Lets just say the guys always thought they were the hot shots.
"I'd like to be with you, if thats what your asking. But not sure if I want us to be labeled just yet. I've had some bad luck with that sort of thing." she admitted while wrinkling her nose as he kissed it. "But I do like that."

Chance grinned down at her. ”No labels but yes, got it. Good then I can do this.” He paused the movie and tipped her head back. His lips met hers in a soft slow kiss. He didn’t rush anything, but he did nibble on her bottom lip a bit. He pulled back and looked at her. ”Sorry, been wanting to that since we got back in, actually since the day we had our not date, but that got covered outside. I’m going to spoil you, I hope you understand that.” He would too, if she even looked like she wanted something she’d have it.

Good then I can do this? What did he mean? Maya didn't have to wait long for understand what he meant as he kissed her again. She felt him nibble on the bottom of her lip and she responded by running her tongue over his top lip. This was one of those kisses that movies could end on. The girl raised an eyebrow at him as he apologized to her.
"Why are you saying sorry? I wanted that too." she said while turning around to sit on his lap. Maya straddled his lap as she looked him in the eyes. It was easier for her to have a conversation with him this way instead of craning her neck in all sorts of ways.
"Spoiled ? So if I asked for a tiny island, you would get me it?" she asked thinking over the top.

He groaned when she straddled his lap and his body reacted to it. ”Don’t mind him he’s just a friendly little bastard.” He smiled down at her and smoothed her hair back. ”I’m glad you wanted to do that too. Like I said, I’ll want to do it a lot. But if you’d rather I’ll just keep it to when we are alone. Hand holding in public, kissing in private.” He couldn’t help but chuckle at her question and shook his head. ”As much as I would love to I couldn’t afford to. However, I could take you to a tiny island for vacation. Is that what you want?” He meant it too. Now could have afforded it then yeah he would have bought her the island.

Maya smirked as she felt a little something on her jeans. She didn't mind, she knew what when down in that area. This little angel wasn't as innocent as she might seem.
"You talk to much and if you haven't noticed, I like the silence." she said in the cutest way possible. Maya really wanted to kiss him more and she did. She knelt her head down and kissed him gently on the lips while lacing her hands around his neck. This was way better than watching the movie. The girl pulled away from him, moving her chest away from him as she looked at the guy she was sitting on.
"No I wouldn't want an island. It was the only ridiculous thing that came to mind." she smiled. "Vacation? I could use some R&R"

Chance quirked a brow at her comment and smirked. She really didn’t know what he was asking but he took that as a minor make out invitation. Once more his lips closed over hers and tongue glided along her lower lip before sliding in and caressing hers. He pulled her closer to him so they were pressed together as one hand slid into her hair and his other hands moved to her upper back.
He grinned down at her. ”Just tell me where and when and I’ll make the arrangements.” He wouldn’t mind a little weekend getaway with her.

Maya knew that this converstion was hitting all the right checkpoints for that start of a realtionship, but she was nervous. There was the greater possibility of getting hurt if she had the talk with him. Maya didn't want to feel that way again. Her diversion of an impromptu makeout session worked better than she thought it would. He was a very nice kisser and Maya had seen many romantic comedy movies to know more than enough to meet his standards.
"LA would be nice." she mused while going back to kiss him. Her lips gently pressed against his lips as she shifted her weight from her knees to her entire shins. In between kisses she said, "But " kiss on the lips, "I'm just" kiss on the neck, "as happy" kiss on his cheek, "here with you." kiss on the nose.
