++Application for Enrollment++
The Person
Name: Kurt Wagner
Age: 22
Place of Birth: Bavaria, Germany
Applying too: Xavier’s
In what capacity: Student
Family: Raven Darkholme aka Mystique (estranged mother), Azazel (father and demonic warlord –subject to be edited if it does not fit the forum-), Rogue (foster sister), Graydon Creed (half brother), Nils Styger, Kiwi Black (half brother) and multiple other half siblings due to the whore mongering nature of his biological parents.
Height: 5 ft 9 in
Weight: 161 lbs
Appearance:
Kurt has a rather unique appearance. His skin is covered head to toe with blue fur and he has three digits on each hand and two toes on each foot that stretch back to a nearly digit-like heel. While these are rather odd-looking features, they do come in handy, allowing him to cling to walls and ceilings. The way his build is configured, he seems to sometimes be a bit more comfortable crouched down in a bit more of an animalistic pose considering his feet are long enough where he focuses his weight just on the balls, hinting at the posture of a faun. When standing upright, he seems to be of an average height. He has a lithe and slim figure that is a result of his body’s fast metabolism. Along with his blue fur he has rich raven colored hair as well as a set of glowing yellow eyes that allow him enhanced night vision
Skills:
Education: He has managed to catch up to being at an appropriate reading level for his age (growing from being self-taught whilst in the circus) and has taken a very vivid interest not only in theology and drama. He is an above average student now that he’s up to speed.
Stealth: Since joining the X-men, Kurt has been formally trained in the applications of tactical stealth. He is able to infiltrate places with the skill that most would if working in the special forces.
Fencing: Inspired by watching old Errol Flynn movies and other swashbuckling adventures, Kurt has become skilled fencer. He can hold his own with a blade and presently will carry some form of a bladed weapon in the field.
Gymnastics: Kurt’s body gives him a natural ability for acrobatics. Coupled with his childhood and adolescence in the circus, he has been a skilled acrobat and contortionist when coupled with his agility.
Hand-to-hand Combat: Having been trained at Xavier’s for the last five years, Kurt Wagner has become apt in being able to defend himself and attack. With an added advantage when coupled with his other abilities, he can get those with higher strength level into a stalemate.
Field Medic: Kurt has been trained and is practicing as a field medic. He is by no means qualified as a doctor, but as an athletic trainer and EMT, he is very capable.
Personality: Kurt is a rather lovely contradiction. Despite his rather demonic looking appearance, he is a rather lovable guy. He is usually the first to crack a joke and the last to take offense. His easy going and fun loving personality provides those who work with him a good friend. He is the sort that would go through near any length to make someone happy. He has anxiety about his physical appearance and is trying rather hard to find some sort of comfort with himself. He tries to avoid using an image inducer to hide his appearance; knowing somehow that this is some sort of test God has bestowed on him. He is loyal to a t and even has gone so far as to defend his rivals on occasion. Kurt is an optimist and has a gift for making light of any situation. His eccentric personality allows him to be quite endearing. He loves old movies and prefers to choose a role model in the likes of Errol Flynn as opposed to today’s action stars.
He glosses over his past discrepancies as only God’s will; knowing that he has done things that he does not believe will be viewed as good at the moment, but in retrospect will unravel further to reveal the Divine plan. He holds some bitterness towards the world that he was born into, but knows that his faith will guide him to his purpose and that this Xavier fellow will most certainly help light the way. He views everyone as children of God, even though there are different sides. These positive traits, however, lead to a constant theme of naivety that those close to him can only hope will curb over time. That is not to say that Kurt is unintelligent. He is primarily self-taught due to his time in the circus and is very quick to adapt to certain situations. His rather outlandish behavior seems to distract from his constant observations. He is picking up the English language with some ease but can sometimes find himself frustrated on what he wants to say. He also has a few animalistic ticks that he sometimes finds himself unable to shake; such as walking on all fours, growling, and using his feet for things that his hands can do on occasions.

The Mutant
Codename: Nightcrawler
Mutant Abilities:
Teleportation-- Nightcrawler possesses the ability to teleport by passing between a gateway dimension that resembles that of hell at an accelerated rate. He is able to teleport up to about 5 miles at a time but with practice can improve upon that rate. When teleporting, if one were to slow it down, it appears that a tear appears in the space around him and then it closes up with him gone, leaving a very prominent “BAMF!” noise and a cloud of sulfuric smoke in its wake. He is unconsciously able to understand the spatial area of his destination to keep from teleporting into a structure (i.e. furniture or a wall), which would be fatal.
Enhanced Night Vision— Kurt is able to see extensively well in the dark. His night vision is similar to that of most nocturnal predators.
Superhuman Acrobatics— Kurt’s unique bone structure lends to very flexible joints. He is able to contort his body as well as move agile through the air the way some species of monkeys do when traveling from one tree to the next.
Prehensile Tail— Kurt’s spaded tail can effectively act as a spare appendage. It has enough strength were it can support his own weight.
Wall “crawling”— Kurt’s hands and feet are able to grip well to any surface, allowing him to walk around on walls or ceilings without being unable to fall subject to gravity.
Shadow Melding— Due to the color of Kurt’s fur, he is able to blend into shadows very easily.
Weaknesses: Kurt needs to know where he is going in order to teleport there. He cannot just say he wants to go to some place, he needs to actually know precisely where it is as well as how to get there, otherwise he will teleport to the wrong place and find himself lost. Also, he can teleport in alignment with the Earth’s poles easier. Going North and South make it easier to push his distance. However, when going East or West, he tends to run into problems. When going East or West Kurt finds that he can just barely make his average distance at a time. Also, Kurt is still relatively new to America, thus making English to be a challenge for him at times. He is learning it fairly quickly, but he can sometimes misinterpret words. Kurt, despite his childhood, is almost a bit too naïve for his own good and finds himself putting faith in those that he shouldn’t. When on a mission, there is the potential conflict between the objective and his beliefs. He will do his best to complete his objectives, but if he has a moral problem with them, he will change his method in completing his goal to keep from turning on the Lord’s teachings.
History: Kurt has yet to really learn about the circumstances regarding his birth. That does not mean, however, that Kurt Wagner just materialized as opposed to being born (despite the claims from those at the circus that thought Kurt to be a demon… which is only half-true). Kurt Wagner was the product of a brief relation between Azazel and Raven Darkholme (aka Mystique). While most develop their mutations during their teen years, Kurt has always looked different with his blue fur, fanged teeth, yellow eyes and odd build. He was shunned for it. Mystique, disguised as the Bavarian Baroness Wagner, abandoned him after her identity was revealed after childbirth. Running to a nearby fall in an attempt to escape, she dropped Kurt over the edge. He was saved by his father, who left him at a gypsy circus where his unique form was quickly utilized in a freak show. They called him the Nightcrawler and treated him like some sort of animal. Locked in a cage, Kurt was given limited human contact as a child except for those within the circus.
Time went on and some of the other members of the circus started to take limited pity upon this blue child and gave him a bible in hopes that his reading of it would cure him of his ailment. He taught himself to read over the years and took a great deal of stock in the words of Catholicism. He believed that he was in this situation as a test of his faith and remained ever patient with his circumstances. Hearing those around him, he had taught himself to speak and even would manage to get some of those that were more accepting of him to actually stay and converse. As he started growing older he found himself constantly dreaming of falling over the edge of the falls. Not knowing the meaning to this dream was part of the jumble of his past that he could never be expected to remember, he would wake to find himself at the other side of his cage. One night, he had a more detailed dream of it and subconsciously teleported himself to the very falls he had been dropped over.
Awaking in this place that he had unconsciously known, Kurt did not know what to do with his freedom. Knowing that the circus would be looking for him, he took to traveling by night; unaware of his gifts and the method of which he had initially escaped. He collapsed at the doorsteps of a monastery where he was taken in. Initially, there was a disagreement upon the inhabitants on what to do with the young boy, but ultimately, they decided to let him stay. They started to teach Kurt formally how to read and write as well as proper grammar. They reinforced to Kurt that his appearance was a test from God; whether they believed it was something entirely different. Kurt was prepared to begin studying with the church to become a priest when the circus caught up to him. They demanded that Kurt be returned to them or face to have their monastery burned down. Instead of letting those that had helped him suffer, Kurt surrendered himself. While he was being taken back, Kurt attempted to escape. Running from his captors, Kurt started to grow desperate. That desperation increased when he was cornered. Bracing himself for a beating, for some reason he thought of those falls again and in a cloud of sulfuric smoke he was there.
Within an hour or so of teleporting just a few feet at a time into longer increments in order to figure out how he had done that, Kurt finally realized that a gift came with his demonic appearance. He started to teleport farther and farther each time. It was when he was heading closer to town that he was picked up by Xavier and his X-men. He was given the option to go to America with them and learn to hone his gifts and be taught to blend in with society. Never having the opportunity to blend in and having no understanding of this new power, Kurt accepted. Since coming to the Institute, Kurt has worked very hard to catch up academically with his peers and managed to finish highschool. He has started to work his way through college courses, coming into his own while finding himself comfortable with who he is. He’s grown into a lively young man that has stayed loyally on Xavier’s side in the last five years from being outted as a mutant, to the war with Apocalypse. He has endured and has striven to maintain the principles that Kurt’s had since he’d joined. He’s been taking a special interest in religion, hoping that his faith can guide him through these hard times as it had throughout his life.
RP Sample:
It had been so long since he had been within the walls of God’s house. The seventeen year old found a certain baptism as the sunlight shone through the stained glass and touched his blue fur. The hood of his sweatshirt remained promptly up, as if he had just walked into a rainstorm. What if they saw through the inducer’s illusions? What if the Professor had been lying about this watch and it was just a trick played on his mind to make him think that he was disguised? No. There was no way that it could be right. No one had looked at him oddly. No one ran. No one held a cross to him as if he were an abomination to the universe. They just eyed a boy that had his hood up in the middle of the day and then dismissed it and returned to their business.
Kurt Wagner breathed out a sigh of relied and took down his hood to expose the face of a fair skinned teen with wavy black hair. An image he had never thought he would see in reference to himself. He had always imagined what he would have looked like as a human, but never had he managed to get the picture right. It fit, in a slightly distorted way. It would never be the real him, but perhaps it was how he looked beneath the blue fur or perhaps how he would look if he were to be accepted into the gates of heaven. His pensive moments when alone always wondered that; if he would be allowed a human appearance in the afterlife. He would never know the answer, but Kurt couldn’t help but wonder that as he endured the last seventeen years of his life looking like the fallen one. He dipped a finger in holy water and almost wanted to laugh at the fact that it did not burn his presumably evil skin. He made the cross gesture. “Faser, son, und holy spirit,” he said to no one in particular other than God and made his way to an empty pew.
Kneeling on the laid out pad, Kurt’s tongue ran idly over his fangs beneath the barrier of his lips as he took out the Bible that he had been thrust when at the circus. The wear and tear was more than evident, but he had already made the promise to himself to never part with it. Whatever successes in life he would have, this bible would keep him humble. It would remind him of wear he had begun and it would hark that Charles Xavier had saved him. The holographic blue eyes appeared to scan along the page whilst in reality, his demonic yellow ones tended to glow bright enough and so fully that one could never distinguish if they did shift as he read. Reading from the weathered book, Kurt’s mind reflected while absorbing the words for what must have been the hundredth time. His eyes took a moment to shut while his memory recited the words in his head as he bathed beneath the light of the stained glass window as if God himself were stroking the mutant’s forehead in reassurance. Kurt’s lips parted for a moment, pausing the questions he wished he would one day ask the angels who would receive him to speak the words that God must have whispered through that colored magnificent glass. “Everysing vill be alright.”

Player: Em
Any plans in mind for the character? I decided to play a bit more with his faith than I usually do. I also intend on him finding out the circumstance of his parentage (mainly with Mystique being his mother), I just need to work out how first. I also chose to touch on a potentially different spin to his life in the circus to give maybe just a bit more conflict in an otherwise fairly cheerful character.
