Kelly started making the sandwiches. She had learned how from her dad. He was very Dagwoodish when it came to his sandwiches. "Very smart. Smart enough to drive me crazy sometimes." It was said with a lot of love and affection. "I didn't even know I was one. It's hard to get used to something like that. I mean I was told by a giant robot that wanted to hurt me, my teachers and friends just left me there. If it wasn't for the guy I had been flirting with earlier, I don't know what would have happened."
The blond turned and looked over at him. "I've chopped, sliced, and diced before. I'm not as stupid as everyone thinks I am." The words were said with a grin so he wouldn't think she was mad or anything. She finished making the sandwiches and tilted her head. Her mouth wasn't that big to be able to take a bit from it, but she sure didn't skimp.

He nodded at her story, wondering about the big robot thing. Then again he was out of the picture for a while. Things might have really changed since he was last around. But so far he had his eye's locked on that sandwich, it had been a long time since he had anything more than bread and cheese so the meat on that thing looked great. "Well, girl I will never tell ya to be careful again if that is for me." He smiled as he looked it over and nodded.
"Good parents always drive the kids nuts. Later on the kids will realize it was love." He looked down as he said that. Boy he didn't know where this crap was coming from lately. Maybe he spent too much time as Brother Cain. He really had to get his head back on straight before he got his butt kicked by someone. Either way he was actually having fun even if he was waiting for some kind of attack every second.

"Well then we'll never have this lecture again, because this is for you." She grinned over at him as she handed him the sandwich meant for him. Then she slid up onto the counter and tried to figure out how to eat hers. "You know, you would figure after years of sandwiches like these, I'd have either learned to make them smaller, or figured out how to eat them." She grinned over at again. Then attempted to take an actual bite before giving up and started pick at it, bit by bit.
"Oh I know it was love. I love them to death, just they are parents and I'm a teenager and sometimes we just have to agree that I'm getting grounded." That made her giggle. Her head tilted as she watched him. "You alright?"

Grinning he takes the sandwich and bites into it. Feeling a bit guilty but he was starving for something other than soup and bread. Looking around at the kitchen he was going to have to remember how to get here. Reaching into his back pocket he pulls out his wallet and leaves some cash in a jar. There now his guilt was a little bit less than before he took the bite.
Smiles around his sandwich and swallows, "Sounds like you have great parents. I'm glad to hear that." He chuckles as he leans back and takes another big bite of the sandwich "You know you could just cut it into smaller pieces." He wanted to make sure he did everything right so no one would be too upset with him being here.

Kelly picked at the sandwich like she has always done. This ended up being the way she would normally eat the sandwiches when her dad made them. A small and slightly sad smile touched her lips when she thought of her parents. She missed them already and they hadn't been gone that long. Matter of fact it's only been about an hour or so, and she felt like she hadn't seen them in days. This was going to be rough.
"Oh they are great, I really love them. It's going to be hard not seeing them all the time." She pulled off a piece of roast beef and popped it in her mouth. She kind of had given him a funny look when he put the money in the jar but just shrugged a bit. "I could, but then it wouldn't really be the same sandwich." Kelly pulled off a piece of bread and popped it in her mouth. "So, you came to make nice nice with your brother?" The girl didn't even think to put the word step in front of it.

"Stepbrother and that is if he will even see me. But in a way ya, came to bury the hatchet, and not in his head." Smiles softly as he listens too her. "Kelly, if ya ever need a shoulder to cry on cause ya miss home. Well, I pretty much have the biggest there is and I'm sure I can carry a bit more grief." He looks around and smiles softly. "One of these days I will get to talk to someone and see if I can get everything settled into place. At least I hope so since I really don't want to have to go to wandering. I get in trouble when I do that."
He looked over at her as he leaned against the counter and smiled a bit. "I ain't joking if you need any help with anything that I can help you with just let me know. I don't mind since I don't have a lot to do right now." He chuckled as he looked right at her and wanted to know how she was handling the situation since it would be a bit rough on her.

She gave a small smile when he corrected her and chuckled about his hatchet comment. When he offered to be a shoulder to cry on, she nearly broke down right then and there. But she just shook her head and sighed softly. "No, I have to just accept the fact that fate finally took me into a different directions. I'll be fine, but thank you for the offer." She rubbed the tip of her nose with the back of her and took a deep breath. It wouldn't do any good to start crying. She gave him a smile. "Besides, it would ruin my make up." The girl winked to let him know she was kidding, but oddly enough it helped to calm her a bit.
"Can't have you getting into trouble. That wouldn't be good for this new rep you are wanting to start." She'd help him anyway she could if he needed it. "You may regret the day you gave me that option, but thank you anyway. I'll try not to be too much of a burden, but I do tend to get into trouble." Knowing her she'll be suffering a few blond moments until she got her bearings. "Same goes for you. If you need help with this nice thing, let me know and I'll see what I can do."

"Ya got it Princess" He laughed a bit and was shocked how good it felt to really laugh and not at someone's pain. He would have to remember to do that more often. He decided to let go of the whole homesick thing, she will get worse if her mind doesn't have things to hold onto for a while. So he just laughed and finished off his sandwich. Going to the fridge he grabbed two soda's he paid for them already so he didn't feel quite so guilty about just taking them. Popping the tops off the bottles he handed her one and took a big drink out of the other.
"So what do you like to do Princess, I mean other than playing tour guide." He chuckled a bit as he looked around and wanted to find an admin around this place, but he didn't want to ruin the fun air around the room at the moment either.

Kelly smiled when he laughed and it almost reminded her of thunder. "You have a nice laugh, you should do that again." She nodded her head as she took another piece of the sandwich. She took the soda handed to her and was glad he didn't automatically assume she drank diet. "Thanks." Kelly popped it open and took a sip before looking at him again.
"Usual high school stuff. Cheerleading, gymnastics, dancing, shopping, texting, slumber parties, make overs, boy watching, flirting... You know, the usual. What about you?" She'd finally whittled it down to where she could take a real bite and so she took one as she waited to see what kind of things the big man did.

He smiled at the girl when she commented on his laugh, but his eye's started to cross when she listed the things she liked to do. Shaking his head to clear his vision he looked over at her and smiled brightly. "Well, usually it was attacking my Step-Brother, but right now I find I like meditation a lot as well as figuring out those little crosswords in the paper. Other than that I really haven't figured out a lot. I mean bashing things is always a great past time, but that is one of those things I'm trying to do less of." He rubbed the back of his neck a bit. He really wasn't used to not having his skull cap on at least if not the full helmet, but he kept them off today for a reason, he wanted the people around to know he wasn't coming as a threat, but hopefully a friend.

When his eyes started to cross she stopped talking. Kelly learned a long time ago, they don't retain anything after that happens. So, she munched on her sandwich and sipped her soda until his eyes returned to normal, and the conversation resumed. When he mentioned what he liked to do she blinked a bit and giggled a bit. For some reason the crosswords comment made her giggle. "Well at least you are trying to find your balance. That's always a good thing. Meditation is great, I'd teach you yoga but I think your too big." She looked him up and down and nodded to herself. "Yup, too big." She grinned as she took another bite. This was nice and relaxing

"Me do Yoga? They still doing that junk?" He chuckled a bit and, and was kinda surprised that she thought the crossword was funny. Yet, when he thought about it ya it was kinda funny so he just smiled a bit and leaned back thinking of things down the road. "Princess, I think I might be able to make it this time around so I'll back ya up." He chuckled a bit as patted her softly on the shoulder and took the last drink out of his soda before throwing the can into the recycle bin. Hey you could never be too careful. So he relaxed in the kitchen for a while thinking about what she said.
"You know if I get to start up that football team, I guess the boys could always use a cheer leading squad. Give them something to fight for in the 4th quarter." He chuckled a bit as he looked at her and smiled brightly. He figured it would give her something to look forward too as well as school. He had a feeling this girl was the rah rah type so it might be nice for her to think about.

"Yes, we still do it, but it's not junk. At least not for me. Helps keep my flexibility for gymnastics and such." she couldn't help but giggle, that was such a guy reaction to yoga. Well, except for the gay ones. "Like I said, I will help anyway I can." Kelly looked down at rest of her sandwich, this was usually the part where she gave the rest of it to her dad. She didn't eat like normal girls in her situation, but she sure the hell couldn't eat that much. So out of habit she handed the plate over to Cain, since he was the only other guy in the room.
The girl perked up and pepped up so fast at the words of foot ball and cheer squad that it was like the light got brighter. "Really? Truly? Honestly? Oh man, Mr. Cain I think I love you." She meant that metaphorically of course , but none the less she hopped off the counter and hugged him. Her body fairly vibrating with excitement.

," she said, tone as sweet as honey and with an original Southern twang to it. " I reckon we's not been properly in'tro'duced! Same 'fer ya lil' friend there, too. Name's Paige Guthrie; a pleasure." All Husk knew was two things. Juggernaut was the half-sibling of the Professor and he was unstoppable, everything else was up for debate and speculation. The girl however, Paige knew absolutely nothing except she was pretty. " Sorry if I'm'a ruinin' y'all's lil' shindig, but I 'joy meetin's new folk."[/ul]

Chuckling he looked over as the little Princess handed over the rest of her sandwich. He liked the food so much that he decided he wasn’t going to bring it up to her. He rolled his eyes to when she defended that Yoga crap and decided that it would be best just to smile and nod his head when she decided to fight for it. “Yeah, yeah yeah Princess I mean it.” He didn’t know why he offered such a thing cause he thought the cheer squads was just there for eye candy and generally proved to be nothing more than a distraction. Yet, she looked so homesick that any thing that might give her a taste of home to make her smile. Now he didn’t know she was going to vibrate. “Okay Princess, calm down it’s not like I promised you that Zac Efronie for a husband now did I? Calm down I’m just saying that if I get the team going. No point in getting overly excited there is a chance it won’t happen. He starts to laugh a bit at her and wanted to see how she would handle things as they were, because she would have to deal with being a student, cheerleader, and a mutant. Which trust me just being a normal kid with the normal problems was hard enough throw in the whole cheerleader and you might as well put yourself out there for insults. “Okay Princess, you just calm down a bit, and I’ll let you give me a hug.”
He looked over as the other blond girl showed up, what was this school turning into Pin-Up Girl Central. "Cain Marko, Ms Guthrie. This little girl here is Kelly, and her parents just dropped her off a few hours ago. Don't worry the more the merrier." He chuckled a bit as he looked over at Kelly and winked. "Plus, this little lady might need to make some friends her own age. Not old grumpy like me." He chuckled as he took a step back figure to let the two girls get to know each other better.
