Ka-Whack~!" Jesus Chri--," she sputtered out, but was unable to finish as her sense of balance was eliminated. First her jaw, and not this? Wow, Maya was fast - blindingly so! Heather wouldn't make assumptions anymore, the girl learned those moves from someone - or somehow. But no time for that, a counter attack was already forming - though surprisingly after not one, but two attacks - as her body made the necessary shifts. Feeling lighter, must mean...Landing on her palms, back to Maya, Heather went to rear her legs back before kicking upward at an angle at the other girl's chin. ... enhanced agility, niiiiiice.Gifted with enhanced agility, most likely so her body could avoid the incoming blows, Heather went to aim at her target: Maya's chin, in an offensive manner; with enough force to surely knock her down, if not, at least, back a few feet. This would grant Heather time to flip back over onto her feet, and to reface Echo.[/ul]

Maya watched as her opponent was caught off guard and her fist met her jaw. Her fist was in fine condition even if it did smart a bit. Echo sprung back up as she sufficently made Heather fall to the ground. However between the time it took Echo to regain her composure, Heather managed to take a sharp jab aimed at her chin. With the agility of a normal girl her size and with a little help from her power, Echo threw her body back. Her hands touched on the ground with thud and her legs followed suit into back hand spring. While her legs trailed behind her in a fluid motion, Heather's foot jabbed her in her right shin. Now that would bruise nicely.
Damn, now she has super agility?
Echo clearly didn't understand what power Lifeguard could posses if threatened enough. She was just happy that she didn't have any lasers coming at her - just yet. It was a good thing Echo was only able to fight with her the old fashioned way versus some supernatural crap that could provoke Heather's abilities to come up with something more creative.
As Heather flipped back onto her feet and turned to face Echo, Echo was a few feet further away from her. A smirk pulled across her face. This was almost as fun as sparring with Daredevil.
"Nice move." she said. If she had enhanced agility, Echo needed to be stronger. There was no sense in pushing her already advanced acrobatics and agility to fight someone who had supernatural help. The woman took only a few strides to her opponent and she made to grasp her right wrist with her left in order to pull her onto her back again.

you're doing, which Heather Cameron did, and you actually did it. Feeling her foot make contact with Maya solidified this as Heather landed back on her feet, just in time to witness Echo's compliment - which Heather did not do, as she felt talking distracted from the element of combat - and hand coming in for... The wrist?Heather would let Maya grab her wrist, but the moment she did, Lifeguard's left arm went up, back, and then forward to lodge itself into the lower left side of Echo's jaw. If successfully connected, it would only disorient, knock back, or shake the other female up enough so that Heather could follow up. But until she knew what effect it had, she'd have to wait, ready to respond to anything. If there was one thing Heather learned from her days with Davis, being the younger sister, it was there was no such thing as fair or unfair in a battle. There is only victory or in the case of your opponent, defeat.[/ul]

Unfortunately Maya's little trick didn't work as she planned. Maya's hope was that she could use this grasp to slide up her forearm and flip Heather over herself. But that didn't work- it was the tall native american that got a fist in her jaw. A knee jerk reaction was for Echo to shift her weight to the left leg and whip her right leg into her waist.
WTF!
Echo backed off and rubed her jaw, thinking of a new approach to the situation. With a strong push, Echo lunged into the air and made to tackle Lifeguard, her hands aiming to push the other woman's shoulders to the ground.

: I'm not sure if the leg whipping was aimed at Heather or not (due to the 'her waist' part), but I'm going to include it just in case. If not, ignore the second paragraph. ] Already Heather was beginning to understand the enhanced agility, how it worked, and what to do with it. Moments ago it was merely a lucky guess, but now she was capable of using it to its full advantage... at least until her body decided to do something else. Maya's leg seemed aimed at her waist, interesting. Enhanced reflexes were a nifty thing, they'd allow you to avoid something, especially if - having your opponent so close - you knew they'd do something to counter. Already tense, Heather would move to the side just in time to see a swooshing limb. Really? That's all Heather thought as Echo came lunging at her, and in that moment Lifeguard rushed forward. In just the fraction of a moment, Heather thrust her right elbow at Echo's chin. Considering the posture Maya was in, and having lunged, it would be interesting to see how she dodged or avoided this. If successful, there was enough force to send the girl back. But even if she endured, Heather would follow this up a shoulder tackle to the Echo's upper chest, right about her breasts.[/ul]

[OCC: Yes it was. Sorry for being unclear ] This girl was certainly foing to give Echo her run for her money. It seemed that agility was the key to beating her. Sadly Echo wasn't gifted with enhanced agility, but any human could be fast they just needed to know how. The girl's mind when back to where she saw Daredevil swiftly weave in out from the punches she threw. This was a similar situations and Echo used that to her advantage. Echo saw that elbow head for her chin. At the way Lifeguard was throwing her punches, Maya would't be able to eat for at least a week. The raven haired girl tucked her head in like the swimmer taking off the block as she continued to plow into Lifeguards body. If she didn't meet this girls body, Maya would be pissed. It was bad enough to have someone nearly indestructable to fight, but now she couldn't even use her powers to even the playing field just a bit- and she got hit in the chest.

. Interesting, Maya was pushing forward, in some kind of attempt to hit her body the other girl was able to take her shoulder tackle. Good, that was even better, and the moment Maya made contact Lifeguard would go to headbutt her. No holds barred, right? Yeah, Heather was willing to use her entire body, not just because she was fairly sure she'd heal, but also to defeat the idea of hesitating - it could, and would, get you killed on the battlefield. One thing Heather had to note about Maya was, the girl was strong. Also, fortunately for Echo the enhanced agility was beginning to wear down, most likely to make way for something else. For now though, that headbutt should be more than enough, considering most opponents never even attempt that, let alone expect it.[/ul]

Maya could already sense that this move would be better suited for an opponent that couldn't change her fighting style in the blond of an eye. If this had been any other mark, Echo would have already mimiced her fighting style and countered it with a little twist of her own. Her mind was fas. She could piece together a possible attack just by using her abilities to know what the other person was doing and her knowledge of different forms of fighting. Maya knew that she shouldn't have done that.
The girl grunted as she succesfully collided with Heather, but it was the other girl's head that her chest hit. Maya knew that she was going to get hurt, no matter what, but a head butt? It hurt like a bitch, but Maya proceeded to tackle the girl to the ground. The girl knew that she would be sorely bruised, since she wasn't granted the ability of magical healing or whatever those people had. That was if Lifeguard didn't come up with some phasing power. That would suck for Echo if Heather's powers granted her the ability to not even harm her.

Okay Echo was not pleased by the way this entire sparring was going. It seemed that LG was in for the kill punches. However there was a reason that Echo trained hard and put all her effort into her attacks. Heather's barrages to Echo's temples, however strong, weren't the hardest thing she'd had to block. Just as Echo was about to punch the blonde in jaw, her opponents fist hit her one to many times in the heaed. Her head was spinning and Echo wasn't properly hydrated for this dirty style of fighting.
Echo could have lasted longer if this was a life or death situation, but right now she wanted to be able to walk down the steps without needing any help. The native american girl leapt back from the woman she was leaning over and wiped the sweat from her forehead. Obviously in a real duel, Echo would have fought till the end. A weak smile formed on her lips.
"Wow, you weren't kidding. I think I'll need to take an ice bath later." she said while holding her hand out to Heather. "You win? I'd rather not find out what other abilities you can conjure to kick my ass." she asked, hoping that she didn't think of her as a failure.

," she corrected, taking Maya's hand and standing up. Deciding to be proper, she firmly grasped it and shook the other girl's hand for a moment. " You stopped, so I'm going to assume you had another trick or two up your sleeve, mate." Honestly, Echo probably did. Feeling proud of herself, Lifeguard was rather grateful her powers were being tamed, and that she'd only obtained enhanced agility during the brawl. For once, the Australian didn't think less of her abilities, but rather embraced them... maybe she was, finally, grasping total control over them! " But when I'm scruffin', I tend to get dirty.," she smirked, releasing Maya's hand afterward. " To me, if you ain't bringing your A-game at all times, you're letting yourself walk right into a brick wall marked with 'failure'." Deep down, Heather was impressed. She'd finally encountered a Hellion who could do something, and to be true, she'd been caught off guard. That wouldn't happen a second time, and was a lesson well learned and adopted into her memory. Besides, she'd never hear the end of it if Davis found out she'd gotten out foxed. Damn brothers... " If you aren't feeling too banged up there, how about a little fizz? A soda, I guess would be the proper term here."[/ul]

Echo laughed as Lifeguard suggested that she had a trick or few up her sleeve. The fighter did, but they weren't fair for a sparr, those were more like the kill or be killed moves she liked to save.
"Alright then, but I can safely say that you're the closest thing I've come to a fair fight while sparring. Going against Monet or Mimic is basically suicide for me unless I have weapons." she laughed while pulling Heather up. Echo's arms were already sore from punching and what not with Lifeguard. Yes an ice bath definetally sounded like heaven in a short while.
"I know what you mean. Anything goes when your fighting for something." she agreed. Maya, even though she knew many fighting skills, had watched too many movies with street fights in them. Also instincts played a major role in her more creative moves. Her fighting ability wasn't just all powers, she really did fight with her heart.
Maya watched as Heather asked her if she wanted to get a soda. At first she didn't realize that was what she meant because she said fizz. In context that didn't make sense to the lip reader, but once she added the soda she got it.
"Sure I think I can manage to lift that can to my lips." she joked while retying her hair into a knot on the top of her head.

," she admitted, smirking as she thought back to her encounters with Monet and Mimic. More so Mimic, Heather hadn't really gotten to know Monet all that well, and what she did know was from word of mouth. " Of the two, I'd say Calvin would be easiest to get a fair go from." At least Maya was able to see Heather's reasoning, which got a light chuckle from the Australian. Good, logic did exist around this place, so perhaps she'd be wrong in her gradual perception of the Massachusetts Academy... then again... " What brand ya prefer?" It was hard, for now, to get used to the fact Echo was apparently deaf.[/ul]

Echo nodded as Heather explained her powers. Now this mutant hadn't known exactly what Heather Cameron could do, but just from sparring with her she could peice it together. Heather could do almost anything if her instincts felt threatened. It was a unique ability that had a massive range of potential. Maya could only imagine what would happen if Heather was faced a man eating lion. Would she gain super strength or turn invisible? The possibilities were endless. Honestly Maya would be scared sensless if she had that russian roulette of a power.
"Yeah, Cal is a pretty decent guy so he'll definetally fight fair against me and my mad skillz." she laughed.
Maya smiled as Heather seemingly chuckled. Laughter was something that Maya had never heard, but she could get the gist of it by the other person's body language. Sometimes laughter looked like pain to her.
"Hmm I like to stay with CocaCola. What about you?" she asked while heading out of the training room and towards the halls.

," she admitted to Echo, as if the deductive female hadn't figured that one out already. " So what I say is mere observation, but in this case, I'd say that's right. Calvin is more likely to be fair, unless he's changed drastically in only a day or two." You never knew around this place, it seemed. But even if Mimic did, she'd surely hear about it. Not much was kept secret here, not with Emma Frost about. But as long as Heather felt paranoid - a degree of danger - about her thoughts being read, Lifeguard's body would protect her from the White Queen's mental advances. " You like that ultra sugary muck?," she asked, wanting to make sure she heard Maya right. Coca Cola, really? " I prefer Kool-Aid, grape flavored to be precise." Tossing Maya her canned pop from the refrigerator down here, Heather got herself a pouch of grape Kool-Aid.[/ul]
