Kelly once more stepped out of the book shop, she had needed to repurchase the book that she had accidently destroyed. When she stepped outside she froze and looked around and briefly she felt like she was yanked back into her most recent past. The girl shuddered and took a deep breath. In all honesty it wasn't so bad at Xavier's. She missed her parents but they texted and talked. What she missed the most were her friends. They had all pretty much decided she no longer existed. That hurt her quite a bit.
The blond turned the way she had that day and started walking. When she got to the spot that all hell broke loose, she froze in her tracks. Then she waited for that damn robot to appear and for her nightmare to start all over again. It would have been different if she had a useful power, but she can't see how her ability would be of any use. She was a freaking Plusle, the cheering pokemon. That was rather frustrating. Once more she started to walk only to bump head long into something, or someone. "Oh, sorry."

Gambit always had a few, if not many, packs of playing cards on his person at any given time. It'd be hazardous for him to run out of them during the middle of a battle. He could charge other items nearby, but they often took to long, which is why he prefered cards.
What did this have to do with him currently walking out of a store? Nothing was infinite. It wasn't often that he went out to buy cards, but when he did he got enough to last. Two bags of nothing but playing cards hung on his arm as he made his way down the street. His eyes caught sight of a young lady standing around nearby in his path. For some reason she seemed familiar, but Gambit dismissed it, he saw plenty of women. However, she quickly went to walk away causing her to bump into him.
"No problem, Cher." No damage was done, but behind his sunglasses fiery red eyes took in her face in detail. "Fancy meetin' you here, Cher," he said with a smile as he recognized her. It was kind of hard not to considering their first meeting.

Kelly looked up at the voice and she couldn't stop the grin. She remembered him for several reaons, one she spent a good half an hour flirting with him, second he saved her an third and foremost, he was really hard to forget. "Hello again, Gambit? I'd heard the name associated with a Cajun and you were the only one I'd met. I guess we should do this officially. I'm Kelly, also known as Chain." If he was the one she heard about around school then she knew he had a girlfriend, that was fine with her. She'd probably flirt with him if their first meeting was any indication.
"I've never gotten the chance to thank you. Would lunch be out of the question?" It wasn't a date, but the man did save her and didn't abandon her like everyone else did that day. Lunch was the very least she could do for him, next to dinner of course.

Gambit never forgot a pretty face. Or a good figure. It might take him a few moments to recognize them, but he never forgot. He remembered his meeting with the young lady in front of him very clearly. Luckily he had been in the right place at the right time. That situation could have been much worse.
She must be going to the institute now. He didn’t pay attention to new students very much, but she had already heard of him it seemed. Looks like his reputation preceded him. Gambit took a bow as he introduced himself. "Ah'm Remy LeBeau. An' yea, they call dis Cajun Gambit." His sunglasses slid down a bit on his nose, allowing a glimpse of his coal black sclera and burning irises from beneath his brown bangs.
"No problem, Cher. An' lunch sounds good." He stood, then pushed his sunglasses back up to hide his eyes. Thank him? Apologies weren't really necessary. But if she insisited he didn't see any reason why he shouldn't accept her offer. Maybe he could get to know her better, she looked like a nice gal.

Kelly would have to admit The school she was attending now definitely had better looking guys. Alright so she was trying to latch on to anything that will distract her from remembering that day. Boys were the best distraction. Oh Kelly knew damn good and well that she was going to get a reputation as a tease and ho, it went with the territory. When a guy flirts and teases he's charming, when a girl does it she's a ho. But Kelly would bet dollars to donuts that this guy in front of her would understand that she meant nothing by it. Well, except maybe to this one guy she met, she could very well mean it to the ice boy. Kelly shook her head no need to think about that one right now, she needed to plan for him.
The blond watched him and knew that he couldn't have set it up better if he tried. Everything about him seemed to just know what to do. Kelly grinned at him. "Do you prefer, Remy or Gambit? Both names are very cool." Something tells her that she really shouldn't be surprised that she never saw this young man in class. She doubted he'd ever even step foot in one. Scratch that, he might one crazy enough to like that room that nearly killed her.
"Then lunch it is. You pick and I'll buy." She slid her arm through his and grinned up at him. It was done in one of those friendly manners, her other hand was holding her bag and not resting on his arm and her head wasn't on his shoulder. Had he been one of her gay friends the two of them would have been skipping down the street singing Off to See the Wizard. "I just hop another one of those things don't show up again. I've come to realize, I'm not very effective on my own. I mean a class room nearly killed me." She so needed to learn a new trick or five. "You any good at fighting?" She didn't know, she passed out before she could see him fight the Sentinel, as far as she knows the boy just talked himself out of trouble.

"Whichever Cher," he said. He really didn't mind which he was called. "You can call me wat ya like." Absently, he wondered what classes she had. He might drop in with a grand entrance for a few laughs. It did get boring sometimes when there was nothing to do out. Even the danger room could only be used so much before one tired of it.
He looked down at her and raised an eyebrow when she slid her arm through his, but the smile remained on his face. Forward yet friendly, he didn't come across many like her. Usually it was the shy or the too friendly. "Dat's 'pose ta be ma line, Petit" he said good naturedly as they began to walk. The bag of playing cards hung loosely from his free arm's hand.
She wasn't much of a fighter on her own? That wasn't very surprising, she was just a student before she discovered her powers. Him? He could prove a equal match for most mutants. There were times when he preferred to talk his way out of a fight, but that was usually when fighting wouldn't prove nothing or if there was a chance of him actually dying.
"Eh, Ah'm not to bad maself, Petit." He wasn't one to brag. He knew what he could do. If others underestimated him that would make it easier.

"I think I like Remy." She grinned up at him and nodded. He was pretty cool at least from what she remembered about their first meeting. At least now though she knew he had a girlfriend. A bit of a bummer because she'd have to tone down her flirting somewhat. But not too much really. It wouldn't be her if she did.
Kelly saw the eyebrow go up and sighed a bit. "I'm not going to throw myself at you, don't worry about that." If she was going to she would have done it already and she wouldn't have thrown herself at him. Though she might have wrapped her arms around him and gave him a kiss. Then she would have linked arms and walked with him. When he said that was his line she grinned at him. "Gotta be quicker than me if you want the good lines. Besides, it was my life you saved, if we are still hanging out by then you can buy me dinner. Or would you rather wait and use that line later?" She winked at him to let him know she was teasing him and it was all in good fun.
She thought about his answer and then nodded. "Then maybe one of these days you can teach me how to fight? At least enough to actually be useful around here." Kelly really did need to learn how to fight and who better to teach her than someone who's been there awhile?

She was confident. Judging from her comment of not throwing herself on him, that confidence must have brought a bit of trouble in the past. He could relate, guys didn't like it when you flirted with their dates even if the date herself didn't mind in the slightest. She actually seemed a bit like him.
He saw her wink. "Fast, eh? How y'know Ah ain't already plottin' som'din'?" He wasn't, but she didn't know that. He was seeing the start of a interesting friendship. Or maybe she'd be a partner in crime at the very least. She needed a bit of training and he did have an abundance of free time lately. He stopped and made it obvious that he was looking her over. "Think you can handle it?"

The boy was trouble but totally in the good way. She wasn’t worried about him trying anything and she had feeling he’d figure out she wouldn’t. However they were both really big flirts so people could read the situation wrong. Well if anyone had a problem with it, she’d just sort them out or they could kiss her butt. She had a feeling he’d be fun as hell to hang out with, but then she knew that from when she first met him. They were actually a lot alike in some aspects.
When he asked his question she smirked and moved around so she was walking backwards in front of him. He wouldn’t let her run into anything of that she was certain. ”Yeah, fast. You aren’t planning anything because you don’t seem the type to really plan. Even if you did it would be mainly subconscious anyway, so that doesn’t count. So, until you are faster than me, I get the good lines.” She winked at him then and grinned. Kelly smirked when he looked her over. At his question she took her chance to look him over. ”Oh trust me, Remy, I think I can handle it just fine. Question is, can you?” She moved next to him and linked arms again. ”Now where are we going for lunch?”

She slipped from his arm and started walking backwards, taking no heed of what was behind her. He glanced over he shoulder, making sure that she wouldn't run into anything before his eyes went back to her. She was right. People described him as being adrenaline-addicted, anti-athority, and reckless to the point of bordering on insane. Planning was one of the last things he did. He preferred to adapt and react, but that didn't mean he couldn't come up with something. He took advantage of both of his hands being free and quickly placed transfered the cards from the bag to his trenchcoat.
He only chuckled at what said before answering, "Guess you can keep th'good lines den. Ah'll just have t'settle wit my irresistable charm." It wasn't every day he met a girl like this one. If he wasn't already in a relationship, though a difficult one, with Rogue he would have already swept this girl off her feet lines or not. When she linked arms with him again. He spoke up, a bit of more of his cockiness showing itself, "Ain't much Ah can't handle, Petit."
He looked around for a suitable place for a bite to eat, "Wat y'like, Cher?"

Kelly watched as he looked over her shoulder. Yup she was right he wouldn’t let her get hurt or hurt anyone else. She took his silence for the moment as an agreement to her statement. At the chance of sounding like she was bragging the girl admitted that she was damn good at reading people. Sure she’d been wrong a time or two but not often enough to warrant her questioning her ability. He was definitely an interesting person and she could see them getting into a lot of trouble either on their own just hanging out or because the rumor mill will probably start some stupid shit. She had plans and as hot as he was they didn’t include another woman’s man. Not her style though most would assume she’d be on her knees in a back alley somewhere. Not gonna happen, she knew how to keep herself under control. Besides she didn’t want to ruin the shot of a potential friend and partner in crime. She watched him transfer his cards and grinned. ”Sweet coat.”
Her head tilted back to look up at him. ”I don’t know, kind of curious on how well that charm adds credibility to the lines. I might let you slip a few in.” She smirked when he told her there wasn’t much he couldn’t handle. ”I tend to adapt to a situation fairly quickly when given the opportunity. So then if you are willing to teach me, I’d be more than happy to have the help.” She thought about what she liked to eat. ”Honestly, I’ll eat just about anything and quit being sneaky. I know damn good and well if I pick you’ll insist that it’s your duty to pay. Like I said, you still around then you can buy dinner.” With that she stuck her tongue out. Blue eyes looked up at him again. ”We are so going to get into a lot of trouble aren’t we? I think we might have just found ourselves a beautiful little friendship. Know of any good Creole restaurants around here?”

Gambit smirked when she spoke of his charm giving his words more credibility. "Don't forget my roguish good looks," he added. A disarming smile, charming words, and a mysterious allure described him pretty well. He was just one of those people who always seemed to be hiding something. It was both a blessing and a curse.
His attention went back to her. She had seen right though his attempt to keep her from paying. He merely laughed it off. "Bein' sneaky is wat Ah do, Petit." Then guided her to one of the better places he knew of. "We'll only get into trouble if we get caught, Petit. And you'll find dat when you're wit dis Cajun you rarely get caught."

”Let’s see, killer accent, maddening charm, rakish good looks, intense gaze, and mystery that you wear as well as that trench… Oh yeah, mama warned me about boys like you and my daddy cried that day.” She winked at him letting him know that her mama didn’t warn her to stay away from boys like him. Oh this was fun, she was having a blast with him and they weren’t even really doing anything.
Kelly smirked at him when he said that being sneaky is what he did. At his comment about not getting caught she arched a brow at him. ”Oh treading dangerous ground there Remy. Makes a girl wonder what kind of things she can get away with when a boy like you starts talking like that.” She winked and made her way into the restaurant. She turned and looked at him again. ”I’ll by lunch and you buy dessert? There’s an ice cream parlor that I saw a few blocks back.” Her head tilted and a lock of hair fell across her forehead. Blue eyes rolled and she blew it out of the way only for it to fall back again.

Gambit led them both to a modest little Cajun style restaurant as she described him in all his glory. Then answered as she said something about her mother warning her. "Can't imagine why, Ah'm harmless." Partially anyway. "'Specially to beautiful girls like you." Worst he could do was break a girl's heart, but he tended to avoid that. Usually it was the woman that grew tired of him with all his 'mystery' as Kelly had put it.
The restaurant came into view and Gambit could already smell the mouth watering aromas of Southern cooking coming from it. He opened the door for Kelly and caught her wink as he followed her inside. He stopped infront of her and considered her deal. "Ah think Ah can handle payin' for de dessert," he said brushing a stray lock of hair out of her face that she failed to rid herself of. He then moved to a vacant table and pulled out a chair while considering her earlier statement.
"You make a Cajun wonder just what an innocent lookin' fille(trans: girl) like you can come up with." Dangerous? He like to think of danger as a challenge.

Kelly eyed him like he was crazy and then smirked as she shrugged. ”You are about as harmless as I am, especially to handsome boys like you.” She was quickly coming to the realization that they really were a lot alike. That was going to make things interesting since they seemed to have enough differences to balance them out. Where she is blunt and fairly honest, Remy plays things close to the vest so to speak. This could make for a very intriguing dynamic and it was possibly a good thing he did have a girlfriend. Although she’d love to become a really good friend of his.
Her nose twitched when she smelled the Cajun spices. She was so getting the crawdaddies. ”Good, since you are paying I pick and even though it’s chilly out there ice cream it is.” She grinned and was rather proud of her breath not catching when he moved her hair off her forehead. But then again she had wanted to see what he’d do and she got her answer. Kelly had a funny feeling if they did become friends this was going to be a ritual, whoever picked the other paid. The tiny blond wasn’t stupid either she just knew that Remy would try, and possibly succeed several times into trapping her to make the decision so he could pay. Of all the things she’d heard about Remy the one thing they tended to forget to add was Southern Gentleman. She figured that one out when they first met.
Kelly let out a small laugh as baby blue looked up at him. ”Remy I may be a lot things, including a virgin, but I am not, never have been, and never will be innocent. You really don’t want to know half the stuff I could come up with. Half would get us thrown in jail and the other half would break your girlfriend’s heart. More than likely most of that half would get us thrown into jail too.” She winked as she slid into the seat and looked up at him. It was going to be interesting to see how he handled that comment.
