"He held it between his fingers and kind of used it like a shallow cutting blade." She knew that Remy threw his cards and she was kind of wondering if he ever used them like that. Yes, Kelly was eager to learn new things.
"Of course not and how could anyone doubt you, Remy? You are the master of the cards and even a lowly apprentice like me can see your skill." Blue eyes sparkled as she made the comments and she winked at him. The tiny blond was hoping she would overstep herself by asking so much of him and she chewed the corner of her lip in thought.
She ate some more of her food and looked up at him. Good now he knew she knew he had a girlfriend and she wouldn't cross that line. Most were under the impression that she would do something like that. However, she had been the one cheated on and she'd be damned if she'd put another girl or guy through that.

"Dat ain't really my style, Petite, but Ah can do it. Ah usually stick to throwin' de card." Given that his powers made the cards explode he was more used to throwing them. He could still cut someone if they got close enough, but them getting close was kind of unlikely. "Lowly?" He laughed. "A'prentice sure, but not lowly." The girl might end up teaching him a few things. Remy was good, but he wasn't the best. He didn't delude himself into believing he was better than others.
It was safe for Gambit to guess that his interaction with Kelly was remaining on the friendly level and wouldn't really be swaying away from that. It relieved him. Remy could be himself without really worrying about digging himself a hole. While he could have talked his way out of any rumors that started to circulate it would be much easier if the other person being talked about agreed with him. He finished his food and took a sip of his drink to wash it down.

"Oh I was just wondering if it was really possible and not just T.V. bullshit." She could see her using something either long range or something really beat the crap out of someone. Honestly, she didn't know what weapon she'd be best with until she learned them and she would bug everyone she knew to teach them everything she could get her hands on until she finds her niche.
"No skill unless you count gymnastics and dance and being pretty. I might get my ass kicked but I'll look damn good doing it." Kelly winked at him and smirked as she ate a few more bites of her food. She didn't rush it she savored very bite as if it were the most precious thing to her.
Kelly finally finished up and looked up at him. "I warn you now... In case you couldn't figure it out.... I'm a flirt. I'm a harmless one unless the guy doesn't want me to be. Now he gives me even the slightest hint he liked it he's screwed. But I don't poach. I was on the wrong ended of a cheating fuckwad and I wouldn't do that to anyone no matter how well I liked the guy. Just thought I'd explain that fully to you." Her and Remy were too much alike she didn't think they'd have made good as anything more than friends anyway. But she also knew about perception, it was going to look really bad if someone didn't understand the two of them. She just hoped it didn't cause problems for him with his girlfriend.

Remy didn't say anything, but he was sure there were some guys that did let the female body distract them from any danger. Her experience in gymnastics and dance would serve her well too. The training needed was there as was the potiential. Remy would just have to show her how to use it a fight.
He leaned forward and rested his elbows on the table as she continued. Blunt, but he understood her reasoning behind the words and respected her for the bravery behind such a explaination. His burning eyes, still covered by the sunshades, studied her. Most women would worry just what would be thought about them if they came out with words like that. A man could easily assume that she was just trying to make excuses for her behavior or just defend themselves.
Remy wasn't one of those men though. He could see past that or he thought he could. He'd been fooled before by good actors. From this little outing so far he could be pretty sure that she wasn't like that. Not in his eyes anyway. It could have been because they were so alike, it could have made his opinion biased. Seeing himself in her and all Remy could be trying to fool himself into thinking that past relationships weren't his fault. Yet, he couldn't escape the fact that he was very much to blame for most of the mistakes in his past.
He chuckled a bit when she finished. Not at her of her words, but at just how alike they really might be. Being friends was quite possible and would be very interesting, but more then that could be stretching it. A relationship like that would be a make or break. They'd either flourish together or wouldn't be able to stand each other. However, he didn't really plan on testing which that was. He was fine keeping her as a ally and friend.
His gaze had lingered on her during his thought, studying every motion she made behind the glasses even though the shades didn't reveal a thing. Finally he spoke up, "You bein' a flirt was kinda obvious, Petite." She wasn't flustered in any way by his light flirting so it had been a dead giveaway right there. "And Ah undastand perfectly." He picked up the cards that he had left next to him and returned them to his coat.
"Now would ya like me to get de bill, Cher?" Sure, she was suppose to pay. That didn't mean he could try did it? She might have forgotten anyway.

Kelly was Kelly there was no other way to describe her due the many quirks she had. The girl could laugh at herself one moment and then turn around and make your life a living hell for making fun of one of her friends. Her idea of friend varied depending on the person. One would think that she would only be friends with the people like her but that was far from the truth. She had a knack for reading people and trusted her instincts where they were concerned. Her instincts told her that a man like Remy would probably appreciate her blunt honesty as opposed to play coy. She hated that game but she could play it when she had to just right now she didn't have to.
The blond had no qualms about being up front with how she is, she learned a long time ago it saved her quite a bit of trouble. She was who she was and very rarely did she question it. Sure like most girls her age she might have those momentary lapses of 'what's wrong with me' then she realized it wasn't her it was them and moved on. She was over her ex she just hated him with a passion and would happily make his live a living hell from now until eternity. Hey a girl needed goals, right?
She knew he was watching her as she talked and that didn't bother her. The girl took that time to fully assess him as well and she actually liked what she 'saw'. Honestly, had he not had a girlfriend she might have wanted to see what could happen between them. But then they were very much two people that would be fifty-fifty when it came to something like that and she'd rather have the friend.
She smirked when he said that her flirting was obvious. "Really? Damn I must be losing my touch. No wait... Subtle was never my strong suit." She winked at him and finished her food before leaning back and finishing her drink. "I thought you would." A blond brow went up and she snorted before getting up and headed to the counter to pay. "You got dessert, buddy. Remember?" She pffft at him and then paid the bill before coming back to get her stuff. "Ready, Cowboy? It's going to be fun seeing who can keep up with who." She grabbed her stuff, blew him a kiss, and started walking for the door.

So much for that idea. Couldn't say he really expected her to forget though. Her comment about being subtle did get a slight smile out of him. Food forgotten, Remy stood and glanced about while letting the blood start flowing through his legs again. He'd say this was time rather well spent.
He took a moment and brushed off his trenchcoat in hopes of getting off any stray bits of food or anything else that might have fallen on it as Kelly went to pay the bill. When she came back he raised an eyebrow at the "Cowboy" title. That was a first. Out of most of the titles he'd been given...he didn't really think he'd ever heard that one before. Maybe he'd need to get a hat. He could try it as an alter ego.
"Remy? No, I'm a "Cowboy", ain't heard of no Remy..." It'd be said with plenty of sarcasm too just incase.
He shrugged it off and moved to follow her and pushed the door open for her while a grin grew on his face. It would be very fun indeed. "Can't wait, Petite."

She didn't know why she called him 'cowboy' but in a way it fit him so she wasn't going to correct herself. She saw the look on his face and wondered what he was thinking at being called a cowboy. "What just went through your head, there?" People tended to have tells when they were thinking and everyone was different even if they did the same thing. They couldn't help it since when in thought they aren't really conscious of what goes on at that point. Hence why they seem distracted.
She stepped outside and looked over at him. "This is definitely going to be interesting. Anyway you want dessert now or later on?" She was still craving ice cream and the parlor she was thinking of sold cake and ice cream which made her want it even more. Blue eyes slid closed and she took a deep breath at the crisp and cool air. That and the smog and sewer and all that. But anyone who lived in the city would consider it fresher than being in a building. Yeah, she was going to stop thinking about that now. "You know if I ever went to the mountains for vacation again, I probably wouldn't be able to breath in all the fresh air." Ah, another Random Kelly Moment.
