His sunshaded eyes lingered on hers as she explained herself. Seems there was imaginative mind hiddened in the harmless form. He was honestly very curious just what she might be able to come up with given a bit of time and him near to help her brainstorm. He was getting the feeling that Xavier's School was going to become much more lively very soon if things continued to go well between the two of them.
Gambit stood patiently behind the chair as Kelly took a seat. Then pushed her a bit closer to the table before moving to take a seat across from her. "De rose has thorns," he said grinning. He was quite interested in what ideas were going through the girl's mind and even more interested what they could come up with together.
"Cheri, sounds like we could have plenty of fun together." Gambit was pretty sure that there weren't many jails out there that could hold him for too long. He'd end up gone along with anything that caught his eye. He could probably find hard places to break into. However, he had no intention of breaking Rogue's heart anytime soon so those would be left alone. All the others he was willing to hear. If only the girl across from him could see all the possibilities in his mind.

Kelly grinned up at him when he pushed in her seat. ”Thank you and yes I do have a few thorns.” She grinned and winked at him. Ah, if only he didn’t have a girlfriend, but either way she thought they were going to be really good friends anyway. She grinned up at him and nodded. ”I think so, I really do.” She looked up at the waiter and ordered a Dr. Pepper then started looking over the menu. ”Any suggestions? I’m thinking crawdaddies but I don’t know if I want them as an appetizer.”
Absently she wondered if some of the rumors she heard were true about his abilities as a thief of more than just hearts. If so she’d love him to teach her some thieving tricks. She probably wouldn’t do anything that would land them in jail but the pranks they could pull? Endless. They might do a few things like breaking in but she’d have to wait to see. ”Now are you wanting pranking ideas? Or are we actually going to do something totally illegal? Oh…. Can you teach me to pick a lock?” He’d already offered to teach her to fight. The girl wasn’t stupid she was keeping her mind away from its natural inclination and she contemplated toning down the flirting. But something told her that wasn’t going to happen since they both know that boundary.

Such a fine rose would make one lucky guy really happy. He just have to be careful when trying to pick her and even more careful when trying to hold onto her with those thorns she had. However, it didn't seem impossible. It wasn't as if she poisoned her thorns so the guy would have a fair chance even if he did make a mistake and get pricked.
He leaned forward in his seat and ordered a simple glass of water to drink. "De crawfish etoufee and the jambalaya are pretty good in my 'pinion, Petite." He wasn't what to order himself yet.
As the conversation went to what trouble they could cause together he could only smile remembering some of his more fun adventures as a thief. "Surprise me, mon cheri," he said wondering just what idea she could come up with on the spot. "And yea," he continued. "I can show you how to get past the door, locked or not, but dat comes later." He had to test her a bit first and see what she was capable of. Always had to take steps before you could run.

Idly she wondered what he thought of her as a person. Then she realized that was kind of silly since they don’t know each other passed more than a little flirting. As whole, from what she’s seen she really liked the guy and couldn’t understand why he got such a bad rap. Well no she did understand and she realized it wasn’t his fault. They just took him way too seriously. She nodded and grinned. ”The crawfish etouffee it is. With some jumbo shrimp as an appetizer. I love seafood.” She grinned and winked at him.
Kelly thought about it for a few minutes. ”Could always break into the teacher’s lounge, find out where they keep the booze. Child’s play I know but I’m new at this. Gotta find out how far I want to push the envelope. I’m a noob.” Grins and winks at him. ”I know I’m rather pathetically tame but like I said I’m not ready for anything outside of pranking yet.” He probably thought she was lame but honestly she never saw herself doing anything majorly criminal…. Unless it was a mission. She found out they go on missions.

Gambit finally decided on the jambalaya. He called over a waiter and while the man shuffled about to get to them Gambit considered Kelly's idea. It would be a good start. It'd be perfect for practicing and seeing if she really had what it took. He could show her how to pick a lock and what to look out for. Absently, he wondered if she really was going to go through with it. She was quite the daring one. There wasn't a doubt in Gambit's mind now that the kid who drew her attention was surely in for a hell of a time. Also there was the fact that while she may pulled normal pranks before. It would be much harder to do so in Xavier's.
"Dat's a good idea to start wit. The real challenge is gonna be to keep 'em from findin' out it was us." It would actually be harder than taking the booze. Gambit never had trouble getting some in the past, but he always got the idea that Xavier just new even if Gambit's mind wasn't the easiest to read. Sneaking in was the simple part; pick a few locks, avoid getting caught, and make it out with the acquired goods. The real challenge would be keeping up the act that it wasn't them. Gambit would be a obvious suspect, but he knew how to avoid the traps.
He'd have to show a few ways of communicating silently first before they could actually make an attempt. Can't make noise on alone and especially on a team effort. But that could wait...
The waiter stood awkwardly next to the two of them as they discussed their prank. Gambit didn't really care if he heard them or not. He merely raised an eyebrow as the man stood waiting for him to order. "You should see if de lady wants somedin to eat, mon amie." The waiter only gulped nervously under Gambit's gaze and turned to Kelly to take her order.

The girl figured he’d probably think she was a lame loser for not picking something wild and crazy like breaking into an actual business and stuff. She honestly couldn’t see herself doing that for fun. However she could see herself breaking in for recon purposes for the team and doing spy type stuffs. Or even just making life hell for the some of the bad guys. ”Kind of would be hard with people who seem to have eyes everywhere, if you know what I mean.”She wasn’t going to blurt out telepaths with the guy standing right there. She looked up at the waiter and gave him a funny look then looked at Remy. ”What’s up with him? Is he dumbstruck by my beauty or yours?”
Kelly winked at Remy when he went all whatever you wanted to call it making the waiter take her order. She gave it to him and when he walked off she looked at Remy. ”Let me guess, I’m a total disappointment? I think you and I would get into the most trouble if we didn’t plan anything since it’s usually the spontaneous actions to lead to the phrases…’It just happened’, ‘I have no idea what possessed me to do that,’ and so on. Makes for more fun and better drama.” She waggled her brows and grinned at him as she sipped her drink.

The waiter took both their orders and fled quickly. Obviously embarrassed by Kelly's comment. The way he left did actually make Gambit consider Kelly's words. Just who was the guy looking at? That train of thoughts got derailed fairly quickly. He preferred the ladies.
His eyes went back to Kelly after ordering. Now why would he consider her a disappointment? Then he caught on when she continued and grinned at him over his drink. "We're just figurin' out 'what' we gonna do. Ah couldn't care less 'bout details, Petite." He gave her his own grin. This was going to be fun. "It'll be fun to see if you can just 'go wit the flow' as well as Ah can." The reactions would be priceless. There wasn't a doubt in Gambit's mind that the two of them could turn it into one of those dramatic 'stories' or 'soaps' with a bit of effort. As he took a drink from his cup, Remy wondered if he could sweet talk Rogue into joining the mischief.

Kelly couldn’t help stifle the giggle when the man all but scurried off and she smirked at Remy. ”Maybe he was checking out both of us? Threesome thoughts or something like that.” She found that amusing enough that her blue eyes were sparkling with mischief. Oh that was rich since she knew not a damn thing was going to be happening between the two of them. He had a girlfriend and she thought they might be too much alike for something like that to happen.
Her head tilted to the side and she winked at him. ”Good because planning never works out the way you plan it to.” She scrunched up her nose and snickered at that. It was so true and she knew it for a fact. ”I can go with the flow just as well as you can.” She stuck her tongue out him and sipped her drink. This was going to be fun and interesting to see how much trouble they could get into. ”So you are going to teach me thieving and how to fight. Can I use you to get a better handle on my gift? And a better handle on yours in case we are ever in a situation where two chargers are better than one?” It would be a lot easier if she didn’t have sit there and find the switch. To just know where it was and what to do with the power she borrowed would be a great thing for her.

Remy's light chuckle joined Kelly's laugh. So she was right, looking into those sparkling eyes of hers proved she wasn't exaggerating when she told him about her not so innocent mind. Most gals preferred not to allude to those kind of things. What kind of troublemaker could he possibly be helping flourish? Well, he'd find out soon enough.
He raised an eyebrow when she stuck his tongue at him, but only took another sip of his drink. She was really eager to train and get better with both her powers and her hand to hand skills. He understood the feeling of wanting to be better. That...and he was kind of a sucker for the lovely young ladies in need. Even after become slightly more tame with Rogue's affection, he still rarely said no to a woman in need if he could help it.
"Sure," he said in response to her question of using him to develop her powers. He was a bit curious to see just how they worked. "But you're gonna have to be careful...Wat Ah do...well it can be a bit dangerous." Sure, it looked easy, but everytime Gambit used his powers he took a risk. One mistake could take away a hand. She'd have to be patient, but with a bit of work he was sure she could get it. She did seem a bit like him. Maybe she'd take to his powers?
All these thoughts of him teaching was making him feel old...Gambit barely kept himself from sighing out loud. Twenty-one and already feeling like Xavier. Where was his youth going? Then again, he was plotting trouble with the beautiful young lady sitting across from him. He'd be old when he failed to take joy in that.
"First, let see wat you can do," he took out a newly bought deck of cards and set them on the table still in the pack. "Know any tricks?"

Kelly was one to always grab as many advantages as she could. Learning new tricks was always something that came in handy and she always wanted to make sure she was useful. If learning to picklocks and pilfering gave her an edge to help with missions and then the like, the damn but she was going to do it. The tiny blond was weird that way she didn’t like not having the knowledge or the power to actually make a difference.
The blond nodded and looked at him. ”Mine isn’t much better. I can’t hold it for too long from what I’ve been told or its bye bye cute blond. I’ve used yours once and saw it go boom, so yeah, I got an idea about that.” That was the first time she’d ever even known she had powers let alone what she could do. Had he not told her to throw the book that charged up then her hand would have painfully gone up in the boom. She winked at him and sipped her drink.
Kelly tilted her head and sighed softly. ”Alas I know no card tricks. But do enjoy watching them.”

"Wat? None?" Gambit picked up the pack and spun it with two fingers in thought. If she was going to be his partner in crime she'd need to know at least one. With skill that comes from years of practice, Gambit slipped the cards out of the pack and began to shuffle them.
"We can't have dat now can we?" If he was going to teach her all of the things she asked for he may as well teach her how to throw a card too. Gambit preferred cards himself because they were the weapon no one expected. Unlike blades and sticks that could send a warning to on lookers, cards didn't seem dangerous. Not only that, they were easy to charge and much cheaper then forged steel and carved wood. The card is mighter then the sword. Or maybe it was staff in his case. He would rather a staff then a sword any day.
He absently switched to holding the cards in one hand before splitting them into two even stacks. Working them together with ease, they slid together in a one handed shuffle. Then as they flew from one hand through the air and into the other he spoke up. "Ah think dat, you may pick up on a few tricks if Ah'm gonna be teachin' you, cher."
He set them down on the table once more. Remy then glanced to the side as the waiter came back with came back with the food. As the bowl of jambalaya was set in front of him, he grinned at Kelly.

"Is it a bad thing that I don't know any? I'm willing to learn." She wasn't quite sure if he was teasing or not since she remembered watching him fight with the cards. If knowing card tricks was a requirement she was screwed. Well either way she's making a friend that's all that really mattered anyway. She watched as he dealt with the cards.
Kelly smirked at his question. "The world would never be the same if I perished." Blue eyes rolled and she laughed. She nodded when she said she might learn a few tricks. "I'm hoping so, tricks are always good to have especially in the battle for a young man's heart. Which I will be waging I just know it." She didn't know who the guy would be but she figured there would be one here that migh spark her interest. At least she hoped there would be.

Remy blew his food a bit and glanced up at Kelly. "Don't worry, Petite, we'll have you doin' tricks in no time. Its not like you have t'know, but they are easier to use den most other things." They didn't take nearly as much time to charge as other things.
Eating a bite of the jambalaya, he savored the taste of the Cajun style food. Taking the time to chew and swallow his food, he heard Kelly's comment. "The world would miss your beauty, Cher," He said grinning up at her. "And I'd be out of a student to teach some of my secrets."
He set the bowl down and took a sip of his drink. "Already have a lucky boy in mind?" Have mercy on the guy's soul if he caught her interest. Either he'd be able to handle Kelly or she'd run him into the ground. However, Gambit didn't know any tricks for winning over a guy's heart. He worked with women.

Kelly grinned and blew on her own food before taking a bite. "Always eager to learn and I saw one show where this guy was a special unit cop and didn't like guns, so he'd used playing cards to cut people. Can you do that? If so, I'd love to learn that one too." The blond really wanted to learn anything that would help her be of more use later on.
"Yes I know, the loss of my beauty would be mourned by all." The words were said with a giggle and an eye roll as she took another bite of her food. It was really good and it was dumbed down so she could actually eat it. "Something tells me you would have no problems finding a replacement. Now finding one that respects the boundaries of a girlfriend is a completely different story." She could see the poor, or not so poor, boy getting molested by any other student he took on.
The blond shook her head and sipped her drink. "I'm just preparing. I've seen the boys around here and there will probably be one to two I might be interested in. So, I just want to be as prepared as possible." Like that was going to be too much of an issue but she wasn't sure if mutant boys had more issues than regular boys, or less issues.

Gambit nodded at her question. It was simple to cut someone with a card. Just throw it right with enough force. You can't do much more then draw blood though, it was just a nasty papercut. A card didn't have enough weight to do any real damage. At best it'd take them by surprise and even for that you still had to be accurate with the throw. "Now cher, ya think Ah let a cop be better den me wit cards?" He put on a false expression of hurt. "Doubtin' my skills already? Guess I'm gonna have to teach dat to you too now Ah guess." He was such a sucker for a pretty face. If he wasn't careful she'd get all the tricks out of him. Then again, he did have quite a few tricks up his sleeve along with the occasional hidden ace. Chances are she would have found out that she could cut someone with a card her self once she learned to throw them, but she seemed intent on knowing multiple things so he wouldn't take that away from her.
"How very true, Petite." He wasn't one to just go out and look for someone to teach. Gambit wasn't really a teacher, he just did what he did. He'd teach a few things if asked, but he wasn't going to go out of his way for anyone. The one exception being Rogue.
"Fair enough," he taking another bite of his food.
