Well one more for the pot...lets see so far he had a cat mutation, super strength, shape shifter, teleporter and someone who could walk through walls...and just for today weather manipulation. good team in his book. Letting out a breath he said "Okay...today we're going to be running simulationg number 004. It deals with the possibility of giant robots being used to hunt mutants...a bit sci fi but...what the heck, so are we, right? now remember...whilst this seems very real and if a robot smacks you it will hurt nothing here will kill you. I expect most of us to get bumps and bruises, this is our first training session but if you believe you're panicing and you can't carry on yell and I'll stop the simulation...everyone okay with that?"

Jean smiled at those who had arrived. "It's like the first day of school, tardiness is expected, but don't let it become a habit as I'm sure most of you would much rather be doing something else, it's important that we have training start on time so that we can end on time. Especially today because I brought Ice Cream and cake for when we're done here, cause you know, everyone gets a bit hungry after a good work out." The Psionic mutant looked to Scott who mentioned the simulation they would run today. The Mutant hunting mechas on the first day? Really? She wasn't completely sure about it, but she trusted Scott's judgment enough and the batch they had seemed like a resourceful bunch.
"Simulation 004, set up now" Jean called to the Danger Room's computer and smirked as the room around them had begun to shift and change scenery to a post apocalyptic Times Square. The usual...dark skies, smoke rising into the sky, buildings crumbled and set a blazed, debris, busted up vehicles and corpses covering the torn up asphalt that. The professor and Mr. Lensherr had really put time and money into the Danger Room's technology. It was so advanced, Jean had begun to sweat from the flames blazing around them, not to mention the smell of smoke and the charred rotting bodies...
"Hopefully we'll never have to go through anything like this in real life, but better safe than never, am I right?" she laughed nervously rubbing the back of her red head.
"HehehahahahehehehahahahHE AH HA!" the disturbed laughter of one of the simulated humans, a crack head, echoed as he ran behind the group of X-men and off into the night.
"...Sometimes, this thing scares me..." Jean sighed with a face palm.

Kitten ears perked as she got alerted to the stuff around her . Kitten ears suddenly got back from the smell of decay and frowned. She then looked towards the teacher and nodded and started to run as she extended her claws out getting ready for anything that might come out at her.

Kurt practically jumped out of his skin when he saw that someone had just slid through him. His arms flailed just briefly in an attempt to get her out of him. It didn’t work until she stepped out. He had taken a defensive position on all fours with his fur standing up before he calmed back down. He nodded to the mouthed apology and provided a slightly nervous smile as he calmed himself down and relaxed on his hind haunches once again.
It wasn’t until he heard that they were running a simulation with Robots that Kurt found himself even more profoundly nervous than before. A rather animated gulp sent his Adam’s apple bobbing along the slender stretch of his neck but he didn’t object. It couldn’t be too bad… right? After all… they would get cake after this! While most teenage boys lived for the prospect of food, ones that had an abnormally fast metabolism found themselves almost jumping at the idea. So, Kurt Wagner readied himself while thinking about the idea of the treat after ward.
When the room around them changed, however, the incentive quickly fled Kurt with the initial feeling of panic. The mutant had barely known life among the suburbs… yet alone what a city looked like… yet alone when it was post apocalyptic. Seeing it as the end of times, Kurt’s expression took on a resilient courage while he awaited instructions as to what they were supposed to do. He remained alert as his sulfuric eyes darted about for the sign of the first attack.

Cyclops let out a breath as the scenary changed. He wasn't a big fan of this scenary..it was a bit of a depressing start but it was important that the group knew the sort of thing they were trying to stop. Mutant/human relations were at an all time low and with many on each side looking to annilate the others it was down to the few who thought like they did to make peace. That is what he believed being an X-man was about, protecting both sides from each other...Threats to Mutants or Mutant Threats it was their job to handle both.
He knew the Robot would be out soon, which was a strange enough sentance to think in itself but he decided to speak to the team before it came. "Okay team...we're going to start with just the one, remember to stay calm and collected...and believe me during this it'll be hard to forget it's a simu- and with that a explosion sounded from a building infront of them. Large pieces of rubble flew out but the real danger was from the smaller pieces that rained down upon the group. "Take Cover!" Scott yelled as he used his optic blasts to disentigrate small pieces of rock that flew at a few of the team members as he rushed towards one of the large building chunks that provided cover in this post apocolyptic wasteland. Out of the ruined building stepped a grey-black machine that seemed spawned from hell itself, it was huge, easily the size of any multistory apartment building. The face with it's glowing red optic sensors seemed to search the Area like a hunter stalking prey. Visible weapons included wrist mounted rocket launchers that wouldn't look out of place on a jet fighter and heavy duty machine guns on it's shoulders. It stopped for a moment as if un moving before it looked in the general area of the students. It spoke in an emotionless tone simply noting "Targets Spotted...Designation: Mutant, Orders...Eliminate"

Now Kitty Pryde usually wasn't one to boast of her abilities. After all, all she could really do was walk through solid things. Well, that and she blew electronics up when she phased through them. Gazing up at the city landscape, Kitty had a feeling of complete calm wash over her. She was a city girl, having grown up in Chicago, but not only that, she realized that she was the best suited for this fight. Her brown eyes slid shut as she could feel the robot's approach, the ground shaking with each giant step it took.
The less logical parts of her brain were screaming in terror, as it approached large pieces of rubble feel amongst them, Kitty took a deep breath and phased, the rubble fell harmlessly through her as she stood still, a battle waging in her mind on what to do. She could retreat with the rest of her team. But this wasn't real. It wouldn't kill her, what she was debating on doing. But it also was a team exercise. She looked over her shoulder, at her team, with a torn expression on her face. She looked directly at Jean and projected her thoughts to the red head. 'I think I can take this guy, when I phase through things with electronics running I tend to short circuit them. What should I do?'
Standing her ground Kitty felt the giant robot begin to close in on her. The internal struggle was still waging. Run or attack. Different tactics she could implement filtered through her mind as she kept herself phased and looking at Scott and Jean. They were the team leaders and she'd do as she was told. The giant robot, however, wasn't waiting and fired a rocket at her. She heard the scream of the propulsion system and turned to face the rocket. Eyes wide she instinctually crossed her arms in front of her face as the weapon passed through her, short circuiting and falling harmlessly to the ground once its momentum died.

Cyclops gasped as he saw the robot make it's way towards Kitty and he thought that the simulation was going to end right there but to his surprise the missle...didn't explode, it...he wasn't sure, it was as if it...broke when it went through her. He stared at Kitty for a second before shaking his head. It was time to take the offensive. Yelling over the Dim the mutant set out his plan.
"Ok! this is what we're going to do! I want any fliers and teleporters to go up to the Bot's shoulders and reach the back of the neck...there is weak plating at the back of the neck that reveals delicate circutry...mess it up. Nightcrawler take Kitty up with you and Kitty when you're up there I want you to phase through that thing and do whatever you did to the missle to him! The rest of us will draw it's fire and buy the others time...is that understood by everyone!? We might just get this done faster then I thought"

As the Danger Room shifted into the urban setting Piotr simply stared. While he knew that this was merely an illusion his senses percieved it as a real life enviorment. When the giant robot appeared Colossus had still been staring around like a wide eyed.
"Take Cover!"
Cyclop's words echoed in his ears but Piotr had a different idea. With his mutant ability he didn't need to take cover. In fact he could simply become cover for others. With the speed of thought his body changed in an instant from flesh and blood to organic steel. He grew in height and weight and felt the rush of sheer power and strength flooded through his form. Standing over seven feet tall he posed like an unstoppable titan as a random piece of rubble fell towards him and he batted it aside.
His attention was brought back to his teammates as he watched the robot fired a missle towards Kitty. Piotr tried to get in the path of the weapon but wasn't fast enough. He was about to scream in protest when he noticed that she was indeed unhurt and in fact it was the missle that seemed far worse for the encounter.
"Ok! this is what we're going to do! I want any fliers and teleporters to go up to the Bot's shoulders and reach the back of the neck...there is weak plating at the back of the neck that reveals delicate circutry...mess it up. Cyclops was the leader of the group and his bland certainly seemed like a sound one. Piotr was still new to his life as a superhuman so he simply nodded and agreed to the plan, even if he wasn't sure about putting Kitty in danger as she was obvioulsy the key portion of this plan.
"One distraction coming up!" he called out to Cyclops as he rushed forward. His feet clanged on the ground as he rushed forward like a rampaging bull. Organic steel moved as fluidly as when he was in his human form. Moving as fast as he could Colossus targeted the robot's right foot and closed the gap between the two. When he was within range he brought his right hand back and swung forward with all his might. The sheer strength of his organic steel body and the momentum he had gathered behind it made it a truly powerful strike indeed. His fist collided with the metal plating of the mutant hunter and gave way. Metal twisted and screamed in protest and Piotr felt wires brush against his skin as his arm went all the way up to the shoulder before finally it hit something solid enough to stop his fist. Grunting with effort Colossus pulled his arm back out in a shower of sparks and hisses of electricity and he tore the limb free and prepared to do more damage if needed.

Kitty Pryde - Shadowcat
One more name to commit to memory, another power to store for later usage. Now though, Paige would find herself being thrown into a situation that she had encountered before, but was still a little nerve racking.
"Reckon that leaves lil' ol' me to improvise." she chuckled lightly, right hand reaching up to brush idle strands of hair back behind the ear. "Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure what'll happen if I pull my skin. But I do know what'll happen if I don't!" Paige Guthrie would be decimated by this gigantic robot, that was what would happen.
Sh-riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip~!!!
Like the sound of masking tape, Husk's skin was ripped off. To those new to the site, it would seem strange, almost psychopathic that anyone would willing rip their flesh off. But that was the ability she had, an ability that now granted her some kind of form, the form of...
"Wood?!" she shouted, disappointment and surprise mingle-mixed in her tone. "W-wood?! Jesus Christ on a pogo-stick, if this'n ain't a problem!"
No time to complain, Husk would have to make her wooden form work. No doubt there'd be some kind of 'morning wood' joke, if someone was so blatantly foolish to make it. Paige really hoped they were smarter than that, she did not need to dish out a good pounding on someone other than this metallic menace.
"All right, then!" she shouted, indicating her intention of joining the battle fray. "Husk is a'comin', an' that bucket o' bolts ain't gon' like it!"
Taking off in a bolt, Paige, both hands clenched, raced towards where the now one-limb-less machine was. "Eat... splinters!" she cried, though splinters were not exactly at the top of intimidating. Maybe that was why her voice dropped in decimal. Still, she tried and that counted for something, right?
Ka-KLANG~!
Obviously not. The moment Paige's left fist hit an enlarged leg, her entire body felt wobbly and fragile.
"Note to self: Wood ain't good."

The session had began and the robot made it's appearance, wasting no time in finding the young mutants, even firing a missile at Shadowcat who was luckily unharmed as her phased for had disabled the projectile. Colossus followed up doing his thing and decided to show his power as a brawler by smashing into the bot's foot, and tearing it away.
"Nice..." she complimented the Russian on his attack. Followed up by Pitor was Paige in of all forms...wood and the results of her assault were less than spectacular. Jean would give her an A for effort though. The Robot didn't take kindly to it's foot being ripped off and a girl of wood banging against it's leg. That's when Jean noticed it's chest cavity opening up to reveal 3 more rockets. Not good at all.
"Everybody stay behind me!" the red head ordered running ahead of the group. One rocket was fired and Jean raised her hands concentrating and using her Telekinesis to guide the rocket back towards the robot and watched as it slammed and exploded into it's abdomen. Whatever the robot was constructed of was tough. Even after a hit with it's own missile, it was still standing. Abeit there were wires and sparks hanging from it, it was still on the move and closing in for another attack.
Jean took Scott's orders and as a flier, took off to the sky floating around and behind, her eyes set on the back of it's neck. The weak spot Scott had appointed. Turning to spot some rubble, Jean decided that was what she would use as her own bit of ammo. Using her telekinesis, Jean summoned a few chunks of concrete and launched them towards the base of the robot's neck, hoping a few good dents and bangs would loosed it up a bit so it could be torn off.

Now that everyone had arrived on the scene, the training session could begin. Scott had chosen what could be considered a difficult simulation for the squad, but a necessary one. The once metallic dome room shifted into the charred landscape of an apocalyptic city. Ororo looked around at the place, taking it all in. It never got any easier the more she saw this place like this. She had done this exercise many times before, but was still hurt by the fact that this could one day happen in real life. That’s why she joined the X-Men all those years ago, to protect the people and prevent such a travesty from ever happening. It was her duty, one that she would proudly give up her life for.
The giant sentinel had begun its attack on the students and Scott had given his orders for the team. Since she was a flier, she had to take out the weak spot on the back of its neck. Piotr laid down some damage on one of the robots legs while Paige… tried to damage it but couldn’t due to being only wood. Maybe if she had gotten a metal form she could hammer down on the sentinel like Piotr. Thank God Kitty had the power to phase for if she didn’t, things would have not ended so well. Ororo rose into the sky leveling up with the sentinels eyes as he stumbled back from getting hit in the chest with its own missile.
Ororo brought her hands up above her head as they became engulfed in lightning. She thrusts them forward sending out a large bolt of lightning that managed to strike the sentinel directly in its weakened chest area. Maybe that would do enough damage so that Jean could work on the back of it. She was mentally grading the students while trying to fight off this sentinel.

It was happening so fast that the young German had no idea what would be the first plan of action… other than maybe initially wet himself. His features, however, betrayed that initial mindset and almost seemed, out of a defense mechanism, to look at all of this like it were a game. In fact, the moment that large robot thing showed up, that was exactly what he had decided to do. His sulfuric eyes narrowed at the thing as he made sure he kept moving so he couldn’t be locked on.
Each stride proved useful, trying to find a weak point, until he saw the missile launch towards the girl that had run through him earlier. He let out a low growl as he tried to teleport to her to get her out of there, but unfortunately had miscalculated and ended up a meter or so too far. When he turned helplessly, he found the projectile going straight through her. Of course! The blue mutant shook his head slightly with a smile before he paid attention to the orders.
His head bobbed in a nod while his Adam’s Apple bobbed in fear once more. Darting to his teammate, hoping that he wouldn’t get this wrong again he rushed and took hold of her waste to make sure he had a tight grip. He concentrated, especially since he had never teleported another person with him before. He took in a fatal intake of breath; the last sign that he was nervous. “Hang on,” he instructed. His eyes fought to flinch just as he leapt up in the air with Kitty in tow.
BAMF!
Successfully the two landed on one of the shoulders of the metallic beast and Kurt flashed an encouraged smile while he settled on all fours to cling to its surface. “Sorry if das hurt, ja?” he offered before trying to find the weak panel that Cyclops had talked about.

Blinking at the people around her Kitty wondered what the surprise was. And why so many had tried to save her. She chalked it up to their instincts, but they had just seen her slide through the door and half way through Nightcrawler. Though she is happy that they showed concern for her, she was still thrown off a bit by the whole thing. Too bad she didn't have the courage to face the missile without flinching yet. That would have been the ultimate story, 'and she just stood there like some sort of soldier!' Sighing to herself at missing the opportunity, Kitty smiled and gave Scott a thumbs up, "I'll do my best!"
When Kurt came to grab her she nodded firmly, unphasing to allow him to grab hold of her, taking her with him to complete the mission set out for them. She suspected in this moment that they would become a pretty good team within a team. Both were untouchable in their own way, with powers of recon that the others don't necessarily have. She smiled reassuringly at him as they arrived moments later on the robot's shoulder, "Didn't hurt a bit!" offering a firm nod, she phased once more sinking into the mechanized monster's body with a determined smirk.
Slipping through its circuits and wiring Kitty began to disable it slowly. Realizing this may take some time she allowed herself to unphase her hand and grab a handful of the wires and yanked them out of their place, immediately phasing the hand once more she rose back up and out of the shoulder. Prepared to grab hold of Kurt should anything bad begin to happen and phase him out of harm's way.

Scott smirked, they were taking it down...and very quickly as well, maybe it was the right combination of powers or maybe they were just good at working as a unit but the robot was going down a lot easier then he first thought, it was sparking from several different parts of the body and the weapons systems were having trouble targeting after the work being done by the fliers, the weapons now firing randomly in all directions instead of picking targets. Cyclops decided it was time for the team to finish this robot and bring it down. Yelling out he said "Okay New Mutants! it's weakening! go in for the kill!" Pressing on his visor he let out shots with his optic blasts but it only seemed to scorch the metal armour. Letting out a sigh Scott Closed his eyes and removed his visor. when he judged he was looking at the chest he opened his eyes. A bright light shone and a Thoom and whilst it didn't go through sparks begun to appear from the chest as Scott put his visor back on.

It seemed as if things where going well for the team. The giant robot showed extreme amounts of damage and destruction and it almost looked like the fight was over before it had even started. Also nobody had been injured in the fighting yet. Certainly this was all a good sign towards future possible engagements.
"Okay New Mutants! it's weakening! go in for the kill!"
Colossus nodded his head with grim determination. He wasn't comfortable with the whole killing concept but this opponent was an unliving, cold metal monster. Plus orders where orders and Piotr understood that stopping the robot now would prevent it from hurting his teammates later. Colossus moved through the rubble caused by all the destruction and tore a metal girder free from its location sticking partially out of the ground. He held the huge chunk of metal like a spear as he brought his metallic arms back and lined up a throw. With one fluid motion he launched the girder with as much strength as he could possible muster and even let out a grunt due to the sheer effort behind it.
The metal girder sailed through the air as it slammed into the robot's chest moments after Cyclop's assault finished. Sparks flew and the entire robot's body seemed to shake as the girder impaled it and transfixed itself in the center of the creatures chest.
