Maya caught every bit of what he was saying to her. Now that Echo saw the way he formed his words, it was easier for her to understand what he was saying. Her power allowed her to pick up on movements, even as subtle as an accent. Maya guessed her good girl persona and keeping her life on the DL payed off.
"Oh okay. I dont' mean to be weird about it." she said, while watching him go back to his seat. Maya didn't want to be viewed as a little girl. She was a little older than him, her 19th birthday was just a week or two ago. "Its just I've had a bad experience with guys." she added.
When the dessert came, Echo smiled at the waiter and looked down at the chocolate perfection. It was amazing to just look at, she could just imagine what it would taste like.

Chance smiled at her. "Don't feel weird about it. I promised you it wasn't a real date and I'm just letting you know I'm keeping my promise." When she said she'd had bad experiences before he narrowed his eyes. "Give me names and I'll take care of them." How anyone could treat this girl bad was beyond him. Maybe some of the other girls yeah, but Maya? That just wasn't right. A slight grin touched his lips at her reaction to the dessert. He nodded to the waiter and then looked over at her again. "Tell me what you think?"

"No one from this school or town. It was when I was at that preforming arts school. He' isn't important." she waved off. It was true, Brett was nothing to her. He was the classic player and thought of Maya as a challenge, a trophy. It was too bad the teen didn't know what hit her until it was too late.
Maya took a clean fork and took a small bite of the mousse cake into her mouth. It was like eating chocolate ambrosia, the food of the Gods. It was simply divine. Maya knew for sure that this was the better than the molten lava cake they had at Chilies.
"This is amazing. You have got to have some." she said while moving the plate closer to Chance.

Frowns a bit and nods, still not liking the idea of someone hurting or just using the girl. "If you are sure." He turned his attention to his strawbery parfait cake and sighed when he took a bite. When she offered him some of hers he grinned and slid his plate closer to her. "Only if you try mine." The took a bit of hers and ate it. It was amazing as usual, but too rich for him to eat much of it. Now had this been a date he'd have just fed her from his fork.

Maya pursed her lips together in a smile and took a small bite of his strawberry dessert. It was sweet, but naturally light. She liked both of the desserts, but this girl was partial to her chocolate.
"Hmmm" she said. "Very good too."
She thought about having Brett beaten up by some of her more powerful friends, hell she'd even thought about visiting him herself. But Maya was a good girl, she didnt' want to hurt anyone without probably cause. Wait she did have some grudge against him. Maya wouldn't hurt a human, at least she thinks she did.
"I'm sure. He'll get his just desserts." she reasoned while finishing off the rest of her mousse.
When the meal was clearly over (they wouldn't have been able to order more food if they wanted to, it was all too rich) Maya stood up on her teal heels and grinned at Chance.
"Not sure what you have to do before you go back to the school, but I still have one more place I've got to go. Thanks so much for inviting me." she said while hugging Chance with a little less hesitation than before. After all it was just a friend hug. Maya then walked out of the expensive restaurant feeling a little more excited to go underwear shopping than before.
