"Hey now, I didn't say he wasn't cheesy, he just delivers the lines better than most do." It dawned on Amber that this had to be one of the longest conversations she's ever had. It was nice to step out of the observer status every once and awhile. As long as she didn't need to use her ability the day should go by quite nicely. For two reasons.. One she didn't want to tip the strangers off that she was a mutant and two, she didn't want to be sick or bleeding all over the place.
Amber smirked at the bluntness of Heather and watched for Dom's reaction. "I don't think he can help it. I think it's a Cajun thing. You know natural born flirts who can't help but try to charm their way around and through things. We probably make him nervous on top of all that so he's gonna lay it on a little thicker to cover any kind of nervousness." Blue eyes glanced over at Heather when she made that assessment. Amber reached up and patted the big guy's shoulder. "Don't take it overly personal, from what I can see she probably get's hit on quite a bit."
The grin was there in full force when they agreed to go and eat. It got even bigger when he said he'd pay. "Awesome, always like not having to pay. There's a diner down the street unless you want fancy, then thats on the opposite end." She pointed in each direction and then looked at the two. If she had her choice it would be the diner, more food and decently priced.

," she said. Heather wasn't picky really, so this made her easier to be and work with. " It doesn't have to be fancy, though if Napoleon here wants to be a good mate, I won't shoot him down if he goes for fancier." Honestly, Heather pretty much expected the male to go all out. It fit his nature, to want to impress and wow others, especially those who happened to be female. If he settled on the diner, she'd just assume he was a cheapskate who got off on quirky phrases and fine grooming.[/ul]

Cheesy? Guess his charm might have been a bit rusty. It had been quite sometime since he actually had a conversation with others. With all the studying he did back home and his large size not many were to keen on approaching him.
Dom glanced at Amber's hand then into her eyes with a bit of interest. So she was beginning to trust him more, if only slightly. He then turned his interested gaze to Heather at Amber's statement of her getting hit on all the time.
"A guy would be crazy to not try," He said with a smirk.
She was a sly one though. With the choice on him, he could make or ruin his image depending on how his choice was taken. A lose-lose situation. However, she wasn't the only one that could play this game.
"I don't mind Cher, you two can decide. I'll pay whether we go all out or not, but I'll understand if you wanna save the fancy date for later..." Easy enough to turn the tables. With an added bonus of letting her know he was open for a date if she wanted. Not only was that horrid out come averted, but he also remained respectable. She did say she wanted to be treated like a lady and not some object.

Oh man talk about putting the poor man on the spot. Well this just wasn't going to do, not if she wanted to have a nice day out. "You really do like putting them between a rock and hard place don't you, Heather? Give the guy a break will ya? I don't really think he means any harm." With soft sigh she looked back up at him again and smirked at his final comment. "Alright, here's the deal. There is a mid ranged restaurant around her as well. Not overly fancy, yet not a dive either. Will that work?" She looked back and forth between the two.
These two reminded her a little bit of that old t.v. show Moonlighting, only Heather was the only one yelling 'fine'. That thought brought a chuckle from her, which she quickly squashed. Oh this might be a very interesting day indeed. If only she could keep Heather from killing the poor man.

," she replied to Amber. " you gotta try it, see if it'll last." Indeed so, Heather didn't want to just go with the first thing that popped up, as it could wind up breaking down or not being worth the time and effort. " Kind of like those outfits we were discussing earlier." That said, she waited to see what Amber and Dom would do. Obviously the two of them seemed to enjoy each other's company, and that was fine. Being a third wheel provided the perfect escape clause, if the Australian sought to use it at a later point.[/ul]

These two were both still very much a mystery to Dom. One moment he seemed to be making some progress and other was another obstical blocking him. What could you do? Women, they were all impossible to understand most of the time. Besides, without any obsticals in his path, the journey wasn't nearly as fun.
Amber was a sharp woman, she caught Heather's trap just as he did. However, unlike him she called the other girl out on it. Heather's repose caught his immense interest though. Was she easing up on him in her own way? That wear and tear comment sounded like she might just be interested.
Also, Dom couldn't let that comparison to him being clothing go unpunished. "Maybe you should give me a try then, eh Cher," his eyes caught hers and he continued, "I wouldn't mind..." He left the obvious bait as it was. It did strike him as odd she would make such a comparison though, she stated that she didn't like being treated.
He suddenly felt someone bump into him, but not only that. He was no stranger to pickpockets so when he felt the well hidden, but still noticable, check of his person time froze in the instant the man's person was no longer in contact with him. He took careful note of where and how he stood. Then he turned and took his wallet back and also took a bit of money for his trouble. It would help him pay for the meal should he by any chance not have enough. The man would never know the tables had been turned on him till he got home to check his haul.
Absently, as he took his previous spot and time resumed its normal movement, he was then reminded of the fact that he was a mutant. That could cause quite a bit of trouble if the two ladies found out. No telling how they'd react. Best be a bit more wary with his powers from now on. He dimissed it, they wouldn't be able to tell since he had taken his previous spot exactly. He simply smiled and made an 'after you' gesture to them. "Lead the way..."

Amber just shook her head and chuckled. Heather was a little hard ass and that was cool. In big cities you almost had to be, but she felt very much like a good cop, bad cop thing going on here with the poor boy. Honestly, her bouncing between being amused but not buying it had to be throwing him off as well. "Wear and tear? Like the clothes we were discussing? And you don't want to be treated like an object? But I do understand where you are coming from, just be careful you don't actually become quite as bitter as you sounded." That last little bit was said in close to Heather for her ears only. The one thing Amber was not was a feminist so she often didn't relate to women who were. She was beginning to wonder if Heather was one.
When he started talking again, she couldn't help but cover her face with her hand. She did about four different things at once when that happened. She rolled her eyes, smiled, snorted, and groaned all at once. It was funny as hell but she was beginning to believe the boy was a masochist. "OK yeah this way. Sorry for taking over but I had a funny feeling it was going to turn into a serious round of, 'Meh, whatever, what do you want to do?' and I can't deal with that." That being said she grinned and saluted the two as she headed for the restaurant. She really thought those two looked cute together and Dom seemed totally into Heather. Maybe she'll slip off some point after they eat. No no, she was not going to play matchmaker.

," she said to Amber. And like the other female had done for her, she spoke low enough for just Amber to hear. " I can have a good time, I just don't trust people who pop in like a sitcom cue." Which is exactly what Dom had done, it felt like being a part of the Truman Show or something, a film Heather found interestingly stupid. God if she were ever in a situation like that, and found out, she would have somebody's head. " So, what is this place like?," she asked, not wanting the walk there to go silent. Nothing worse than silence, it allowed people to think uncouth thoughts. " Or will this be a new experience for all of us?"[/ul]

Dom mentally sighed as he followed the two women, he could tell his chances in many different situations. And right now, he didn’t really know what to think. Seems his situational insight was becoming just as rusty as his charm. He really needed to start socializing more. It also wouldn’t hurt for him to take it a bit easier with all the studying and training. His thoughts were running away again, he was analyzing this way too much. He needed to just relax and go with the flow.
Dom couldn’t really help but overhear the conversation between the two. Call it another Cajun curse, curiosity. People tended to be nosey down south. Not much stayed a secret unless you spoke where no one could eavesdrop. That didn’t mean they couldn’t keep a secret, just that you needed to guard them if they were a secret. He was very tempted to do something to get a rise out of Heather, but that wouldn’t be in any way gentlemen like. As he let his thoughts subside a few interesting ideas came to mind. The two seemed like friends, or they spoke like they knew each other at least. They had also been together before he had ran into them, they could very well already know each other. Maybe he was just being a bother to them. Dom wasn’t one that liked to be a burden to others as he carried his own weight.
The meeting had been accidental. The flirting had been fun. But maybe it was about time he just left. Then again, he didn’t really have anywhere to go. He was still new here. And if he couldn’t find a place to eat, how in the world could he trust himself to find a hotel to sleep in? For the first time since he met the two, his smile dropped and his mouth set in a way that didn’t reveal anything. Not angry, not sad, not happy, just lost in thought. So lost in his thoughts was he that he missed another chance to bait Heather. His hands made their way into his pockets and he shrugged. Such a challenge life had presented him, but that was fine. Without challenges life would be very boring.

Amber patted the girl on the shoulder and made her way to the restaurant. "We'll be fine. Just breathe." She grinned over at both of them. "It will be a first time for all of us I believe." She really hoped that this would be a productive day. It was nice finally having people she could talk to. It was also nice not to be compelled to help someone that would reveal her as a mutant. Before walking in she turned to the two of them. "So we have a nice lunch and maybe even make two new friends each?" She arched a brow and looked between the two.

," she asked, somewhat curious if she had heard about it from word of mouth. If so, maybe it'd be someone Heather knew, but if not, well, no loss really. " Most of the other restaurants I've frequented tend to be okay, or nothing out of the ordinary. I'm hoping to find that one that knocks me off my rocker, you know?" Friends or not, there was food to be had and Heather wouldn't complain about that. Though she did idly wonder how it would appear for two girls and one guy to walk in, sit together, and eat.[/ul]

Two new friends…Dom almost laughed. That’d really would be a first, he never had any real friends before. Sure, he was a nice person to everyone and most liked him because of it, but he never thought of them as friends. Dom never really allowed himself to get close to anyone. He was a mutant, that could cause trouble. It gave him a secret to hide, making him seem suspicious. Then if he told them, would they even accept it? No, he wasn’t one that wanted to deal with that kind of situation so he’d just avoid it if he could. However, he could play the role of a friend rather well. “First two friends I made up here,” he commented absently.
As they approached their destination, Dom took off his baseball cap and stuffed it in the duffle bag that hung from his shoulder. Call it a habit, he didn’t wear hats inside. His blond hair practically fell to his neck after being released from their confines. It was long overdue for a haircut. He just didn’t realize it that much because he tended to wear a hat most of the time. Two different colored eyes gazed out from the blond curtain made up by his bangs. He combed a hand through his hair to get it out of his eyes and revealed his hererochromia in the process; the left eye was amber and the right hazel.

Amber turned so that she was walking backwards and grins. "I saw it the other day and was wanting to try it since it's a step up from the grease pit." Nods toward the diner. "But I didn't have enough money. Got to see the portions and they matched the diner in size but looked better. The other place is typical fancy pants. You know the kind where you go out for pizza afterwards, when the date is over and he went home." She winked at both of them and laughed.
The dark haired girl nodded. "I know what you mean. Haven't found that place that you just want to keep going back to. Or that you want to tell everyone you know, about it." Her smile turned to Dom. "Well, couldn't have made better friends I don't think." She winked and headed into the restaurant taking note of his really cool eyes.

," she commented. Heather did consider saying something about herself, but she wasn't going in the mood for some damn flirtatious comeback, so she let it go. " And you're still alive, so people mustn't have a serious problem with you." The restaurant seemed all right, and suddenly all of Amber's remarks and comments came flooding back to her. " Home cooked meals are more my thing, 'twas what we did back home on the isle. But I'm down for taking a chance here, it can't be too bad... it has business, right?"[/ul]

The two girls really were close to opposites, especially when it came to him. Amber's feel was cheery and easy going as oppose to Heather's tense and guarded atmosphere. Amber also seemed to have eased up on him from the abrupt introduction while Heather still held a slight distrust of his motives. He nodded as Amber accepted him as a friend and glanced at Heather.
The feel he got from her still made him a bit uncomfortable and nervous, but he restrained his urge of falling to flirting to ease his nerves. Neither of them seemed to be interested anyway. May as well stay a bit serious so it didn't seem as if he was after something. "So she does," he answered before continuing with a chuckle on her comment of him still being alive, "I think people would find it hard to kill me..." He left it for her to interperet on her own. Dom wasn't a pushover in a fight, that much was pure fact. Him being a mutant only made him more difficult to deal with. But honestly, he didn't like to use his powers for a fight or even fighting at all. "But what's your opinion of me?" he asked. "Besides me being an obvious flirt of course," he added as an afterthought.
He followed the two of them in the restuarant. With his hunger problem solved all he needed was a place to spend the night for a few days. But he had plenty of time to ask them for those directions.
