" Of course if everyone had super abilities, they could make the argument they were above the law. Lilija however felt she was just above most people, even without the powers factored in. " I wouldn't like to be you if I found myself some kind of target, and all because I didn't take an interest in present situations." " You don't have to go to war to bite, there are other ways." Man, why did everyone assume war was the only way? Yeah it had a place, but you could do economic sanctions and such. Ironically it hurt and pissed the Japanese off enough for them to attack Pearl Harbor, so it did work. " The unfortunate part is, children born to parents like that are just going to have to accept that is where they were. Just like how I've accepted I'll never be a best-selling author." That established, it only left the date remark. God, was this guy really asking her out on a date? Lilija wanted to wince at the ridiculousness of it all, but she refrained and instead looked towards the male. " If you perk my interest, maybe.," she said, but not wanting Hiro to get any ideas she went in to elaborate. " I don't do dates just because someone asks, they just sort of happen."[/ul]

"If it happens it happens. I will not complain for the consequences of my actions." He looked to the sky once more. Thinking how the human mind was too complex to understand. On the other hand maybe it wasn't, maybe he was thinking about it to much. He didn't comprehend what 'target' meant completely, due to his english. So he guessed that she was meaning, they would attack him or something. "I don't completely understand what that means, to tell you the truth. But I will fight back if I am forced to."
Her words were wise and this made him only more intrigued with her. "I suppose so. But war is alway on top of the list in most people's mind." He sighs softly before continuing. "There is a gruelling path to acceptance. Some much more harder then others."
He chuckled at her answer, he expected complete rejection but instead he gets a 'maybe'. The young man was completely new to the love game and almost had no time for it. He figured he would give it a chance. Also, he remembered reading something about it. If a lady said maybe, either push for it or just give up. With nothing to really lose and had already a low ego and self-esteem for this. The young man went for the push.
He stands up and walks over to her revealing that he was close to a head taller than her. "Well you are quite intresting to me. And it is rude for me to continue speaking unless I am able to treat you to something. Nothing special, just a friendly date and we can see how far it goes from there." Being the innocent and prude kid he was he felt it was the good thing to do. Treating a lady out as said in the book.

," she pointed out, albeit a little late on her part. But it was not as important upon their first seconds into this encounter as it did now. " is this because you have a lot of unfulfilled ambitions and dreams left to obtain?" Lilija merely asked because, and this was from her own experience, individuals who spoke philosophically tended to fall into two categories; the first, they wanted to steer away from their own lacking accomplishments or, the second, it was an attempt to be someone they truly were not. Hiro did not seem to be one or the other, but Lilija was curious. " If people do not accept what is, they waste their life fixing the situation." Yes, Lilija was pretty hardcore about this sort of stuff. But it made absolute sense to her, and really that was all that mattered. " I'd rather get over being born in some gutter or war zone than dwell on it, letting it dominate my personality. People who bitch and bicker sicken me, especially when they do nothing but take advantage of their misery." Then came the move. " No.," she said quite suddenly. " I'm quite fine here, and as I said. I don't do dates, they happen. Don't ask me for one, because it puts me on the spot. Let it come naturally, if it does." Lilija glanced upwards to the stars, watching them for what seemed to be an eternity before poising the question, " You do this often?"[/ul]

"I guess I am...And I apologize if it bothers you." He said softly. "I'm young, I am going to have a lot of unfulfilled ambitions and dreams." He placed his hands in his pockets. His dream of flying was granted and his dream to be able to protect others was also granted. Now he also had a strong reslove in protecting those of the brotherhood. He had already sworn his loyalty. "The Brotherhood..." He mumbled to himself.
"Then they are weak." He said soundly. "And they will need the strong such as yourself to guide them. To the path in which they become strong as well and help the rest of the weak." He placed his hand on his a corner of his forehead and his fingers through his hair. "But they could be disgarded as trash, which I wouldn't be to fond of. If your going to ask why. It because who I am."
"No is no, okay then I'll stop bothering you." He said looking up to the sky once more. "No, I read something from this book and wanted to see if it work and it didn't. Don't get me wrong, you would be someone I would to date. I'd just never have the chance to." He said with a smile and looked at his watch. And it was late really late. Should he stay? Or should he leave?
This woman, he found her be really intresting. But was it mutual, he doubted it. In fact he felt like he bored her with all this. "It was a pleasure to meet you. And I do hope we will see eachother again." He gave a smile and turned from her and began to walk away. Giving her the choice to either stop him and continue speaking or let him go. And probably won't see her again.

," she stopped, making sure to gain eye contact with him. " don't ramble so much, it tends to get tiresome to hear." Then turning away, Lilija would leave the Asian with that much knowledge before listening further. " Your motives are your own, Hiro." Lilija had her own purpose in life, she wasn't going to knock this man's. " But you sound as if you've had experience with people who disappoint? Tell me, are you a part of some group?" Lilija had no idea Hiro was part of the Brotherhood, she'd never had the chance to encounter him. But she also did not know he was a mutant, since he made no mention of it or showed it, there was also the fact Corpse was no mind reader. " Books are wonderful for reciting tidbits, but not all of them are authored by experts.," she chirped. " Everything has an exception, what they scribble down is just a general guide." Now she realized Byakurai was downing on himself, and she proceeded to brush a strand of her platinum blond hair back behind her ears before stopping him. " Hold it.," she said, pausing to give the male time to cease movement or continue walking. " Just because I won't let you take me somewhere doesn't mean we can't continue talking under the stars, and learn something from each other."[/ul]

"I see." He said chuckling softly a bit. "At least your truthful. I'll do my best not to ramble." He rubbed the back of his neck softly. To relax himself more, doing his best to comply with her request. With him it's usually pure silence or rambles. And under a night like this with the moon our bright and with the stars glimmering, making the night sky all the more beautiful, he couldn't help but ramble. He was in such a great mood.
"I guess so." He stated calmly. He brought it on himself to defend others no matter what the cost. "Who hasn't?" He started softly. "I don't like to speak of my sob story. It's kinda patheic. And I'm in called this group called the Brotherhood. I help to protect mutants. You can call me a freak now if you want." He said calmly thinking she was human. He was getting used it. Like the time he helped the store. Even when he helped him shunned him.
"Your right, I should thought the same as you did." He said softly. "Books do have their limit, unlike experience."
As he turned away he hears her call out. He stops before taking another step. He turned his head a bit, a smile on his face. "I wasn't going leave because you wouldn't go on a date with me. I fear that I am only boring you. But if you wish for me to stay I will not be rude to your request."He sits on the bench and looks to the sky.
"What a beautiful night..." He said once more. "I said this so many time now. But a night like this for me is rare."

," she quickly responded. " Just keep it simple, tell me what brought you out here, why you enjoy the stars, and what you're doing tomorrow. No need for sob stories, I'm not in the mood for it to be honest." If another person confided in her about some cliche, overly ridiculous back story, Lilija would strangle them. " Brotherhood?," she repeated, a little unsure if she hear correctly. Deciding she had indeed not been tricked, the woman laughed softly. " It seems we have more in common, if this is indeed true and not some deceitful business. I, too, am part of this Brotherhood of Mutants." There, she said it. But would Hiro make a big deal out of the admittance, or would it just be another tidbit of trivia? " One is only boring if they believe themselves to be. Nothing is boring, and if someone begins to find it so, they obviously do not enjoy life." Lilija would have asked why this night was rare, but the guy already had enough to respond to. Also, deep down, Lilija figured he'd tell her anyway.[/ul]

"Bullies beat up a few of my friends, I scared them off with my powers. Friends and family are scared of me and I leave Japan. As simple as that." He stated calmly and dryly. He kept his emotions in check. "I like the stars because their beautiful and free. And I think I'm going to work and going home again tomarrow. Why?"
"Hai.." He said softly, as he was about to ask her if she knew them. But his eyes widened from the surprise that she was also from the Brotherhood. "That is a nice surprise." He said with a smile. "I am glad to see we on the on same side. Are you new or are you a commanding officer?" He stares up into the sky once more. His eyes gilmmered in the light.
"That is wise, Lilja-san. I just guess I am living an unenjoyable life then." He said jokingly with a soft chuckle. He rubs his neck a bit, he was downing himself alot tonight. But it's always good to leave people guessing.

," she said. " I figured the topic would come up eventually, and why not get it out of the way now? But interesting predicament, it seems you've done a lot and yet, have a lot more to do." Ah, the Brotherhood. Byakurai was in it, or so he claimed. But who was Corpse to doubt his word? He seemed nice, and if he was lying, what could she do? Besides raise Napoleon Bonaparte or Bruce Lee from the dead, nothing. " New. I probably wouldn't want to be a commanding officer, to be honest." Lilija liked not having to take the blame if shit hit the fan, and being in charge of even one other person was putting yourself at risk for such a thing. " Not really my preference; and you?" Lilija smirked at being called wise, to her it was just common sense.[/ul]

"You obviously like to get things out of the way." He said with a soft smile. "Well that's life for ya. I'll be old before everything I want will be done." He laughs a bit.
He felt at ease when he heard that she was one of the brotherhood as well. This made him feel more secure with his choice. And made him believe he was doing good in this world. He gives her a bright smile.
"New as well huh? Well, as a comrade I will do my best to protect you, no matter what. And as a friend I will always be around if you need me. And that is a promise Lilja." He said calmly and soundly. It was a bit on the dramatic side, but it was of good and honest intention. When he made a promise, he would always do his best to keep it.
After all it was who he was, he is innocent and only wants to help others.

," she responded to Hiro's mention of her liking to get things done. Then Byakurai talked about the Brotherhood, being new, and pledging himself to her and the cause. Amusingly, Lilija glanced towards the Asian and smirked. " Really?," she asked. " You seem too idealistic to be a part of the Brotherhood, they strike me as the kind to put down others and proclaim superiority. You, Hiro, do not appear as such." The Brotherhood wasn't a clique or a fun party, it was serious business. You only joined to pledge yourself to Magneto, effectively becoming a sacrificial pawn to his ambitions and greater plans. Honestly Lilija had only joined to get out of Iceland, but the more she spent time in Genosha, the more she realized life would be better if mutants had their rightful place. Call it ignorance or not knowing better, but her time on Iceland served its purpose.[/ul]

"That is true. But it isn't good either, my explantion many people do like to have long converstions." He said with a soft chuckle. He looked at the palm of his hand. "Well since we are on the same side I might as well show you." He formed a ball of lightning at the palm of his hand. As he looked at its bright white and blue light, he wondered if he could live up to the promise he had made. He clenched his fist making it disappear.
"I have been only using it aggresively. Since it is part of my DNA. I have been thinking of using it for other things." He said with a smile looking at her. "This power will allow me to protect those I care about and the cause."
He lets out a soft sigh. This might be true, after the mission in Africa and recruiting the man called 'X-man.' He began to feel that Lord Magneto was planning something. But to him, his own word was law. He vowed to help Magneto and his cause and vowed to protect mutants. He wasn't just going to betray him over ideals.
"Be that as it may, Lilja. I am fully awake of who I am." He takes pause and itched his head a bit. "And I value honor. When I give my word, I do my best to keep it. And I vowed to help Magneto and to protect those in the brotherhood, that is what I shall do."

," she said, and though her tone seemed disinterested, Lilija was actually interested. But this situation was turning into a 'what power do you have?' one, and Lilija didn't want to do that. Not because she cared, but the cliche prospect it presented. " Really?," she asked, right eyebrow shifting to raise upward. " Then you probably don't mind the destruction of the naval carrier, or using the Sentinels - the same creations humans used to attack us - against them. People will have died, and they will continue to die, Hiro. This includes everyone, even your parents and family, if they are not members of Magneto's homo-superior." Turning to look at the male, Lilija studied his face for a moment before concluding with this, " Would you be willing to protect a man whom asked you to slay another who is powerless to defend themselves? That doesn't seem very honorable to me." Lilija had no problem taking out her family if need be, but it wasn't for anything significant. She just had her teenage girl hissy fits growing up, and because of that she'd come to dislike them just enough to inflict such tragedy.[/ul]

Not the reaction he was expecting but then again she was another mutant. So instead of continuing on this, he merely shrugs and sighs quietly. He didn't know if she was truly intrested or not, this woman was fairly confusing. But he didn't mind it too much.
He taps his finger tips on his palm slowly and gently. "Powerless...?" He askes calmly. "I saw what the humans did to Genosha....And you call them powerless?" He continues with to tap his palm and stare at it. "Just because human do not have powers, doesn't mean they are powerless. If that is what you were implying. If not I apologize."
He rests his head back onto the bench. "Fire arms and huge robots are a danger to all mutants. And mutants with powers are a threat to all humans. If you think about it, something was bound to happen." He tilts his head to look at her. "Killing without purpose is murder. But killing with purpose is justice. Isn't a bit odd, how that works?"

," she quickly shot back, tone rising a bit to show emphasis. " Like anything, there exists bad in all groups - mutants too - but we should be judged and responded to accordingly to the individual, not as a whole. The Romans did that to Carthage following Hannibal's campaigns, and it accomplished nothing but the eradication of an entire civilization." No way was she going to use the Holocaust as an example, people who did that only showed single-mindedness for history. Lilija knew her history, at least enough to get by in life. It came with her degree, but scholastic effort aside, she was attempting to draw a comparison to what the Brotherhood did and was doing. Hiro's last words struck her in an ironic sort of way, so much so she stared long and hard at him before asking, " Did you just hear yourself? You basically spoke out against what Magneto did, when he attacked that naval ship - a ship with people who had nothing to do with the Morlocks massacre, and now he wants to attack an entire city just because some political big-wigs gave the okay? Do you not see anything wrong about this? Those people who get caught in the crossfire are going to be murdered, all because they are powerless against the same entity the Brotherhood despises. If anything, we should be their allies." Yeah, it would appear Lilija was speaking out against Magneto. In a way she was, but it was not to show defiance, just to keep things in the air and remind people of who they were, what they did, and why they remained at the Master of Magnetism's side. " I do my job because it is required.," she added of her own accord, and to explain a bit more about her internal workings to the Asian. " I could care less who lives or dies, but I won't tolerate people who have their priorities blindsided by bias and manipulative forces. Hiro, you're an intelligent man, surely you can see Magneto's agenda does not suit your own... unless... what you've been telling me is not how you truly feel, and live."[/ul]
