"History....Sometimes tends to repeat itself..." He responded. She had her history down pretty well. He was highly impressed with that and he found something out about her. It was a bit iffy of a conclusion though, she had morals. Maybe just like he does.
"That is what happens in war...If a nation attacks, the other reaction in defense. What do you do? Sit there? If an enemy attack you alone. You can show them you are strong and not strike back. But if a nation attacks another, that involve the innocent lives. Do you continue to stand and let them strike you and your nation, until you and your nation dies out? No..." He said calmly. As he spoke he thought of Magneto.
"A naval carrier is a military object. And the military have to use tactics in order to defeat another. Maybe Magneto attacked, knowing there was a chance at a possible attack or invasion. There will be time where you have to kill in order to save. This coming from a person who loathes fighting above all else. But to insure justice and loyalty...." He takes a pause, trying to strengthen his own resolve in this.
"If there was a chance for peace. Then why attack? Why kill?" He said with a frown. At least he knew she had morals like he did. She swore her loyalty and will fight for the cause like he will have to as well. He smiles when he gets a compliment from her. "I pray for peace. I pray for harmony. I pray for children to be able to see their parents and their parent see their children grow. And everything I say is the truth. I thank you for the compliment."
He stands up and rolls out his shoulders. "I see Lord Magneto as a savior of our kind, but I also see him as the bringer of death to humans. I will say this again. I hate fighting, but I value honor. I swore I would stand beside Magneto no matter what. And That is what I will do." He knows he had said things that contradicted his values. But what has happened has happened.

humans, not just those within the fifty states. If we go by your logic, only the United States should be the victim of retaliation, not the other nations of the world. To me, it sounds like the War on Terror, Poverty, Drugs, or other unable to be won concepts, and is merely an excuse to go beyond reason." Maybe she was talking too much, but Lilija had to know why Hiro was doing this. To her, what he said did not match up with the Brotherhood. At least she could admit she found none of this all too honorable or righteous, but that it was done because no better alternative existed to her. She could only benefit, an ideal justified by her ability to repress self honor. Lilija found the whole concept of promising to fight for someone no matter what silly, especially if the one being exalted lacked the same principles as the inductee. To her, Magneto had just manipulated this poor soul for his cause, but unlike Hiro the Icelander was able to see clearly. She did not join the Brotherhood to protect anyone, but to fulfill some sort of purpose. If something better came along, well, who was to say she wouldn't bail? The Lehnsherr children seemed to have something planned, at least Polaris and the Scarlet Witch, but what they did was of little concern to Lilija right now. Hiro was, and reminded of that she resumed her conversation. " You're from Japan, you know the history. Tell me, what good did honor do the Emperor against the enemy in the years of 1944 and 45?," she asked, but instead of leaving an opening she spouted out an answer. " I'll tell you, no good. Your people died in vain all because one man couldn't take the right approach." Lilija refrained from mentioning Nagasaki and Hiroshima, but it was associated implication at this point. " Honor isn't about keeping your word, Hiro.," Lilija replied, almost scholarly. " It is about knowing when and whom to be there for, or to stand up with. To give your life in the name of another is foolish, for you cannot serve them if you are dead - to live is to be of assistance - which Magneto would have no problem experiencing. What you're telling me is, you will give your all for a man you only know very little about, and whom may be as bald face a liar as the very humans he seeks to eliminate. To me, that is a wasteful means of duty and, dare I say it again, looking before you leap."[/ul]

The young man kept a calm look on his face. But his left eye winced slightly showing he was surprised by this. Magneto wanted to eliminate all humans? Yes there was a vaild reason for him doing so, if they attacked America. The current superpower and won, other human would be threatened and attack. But still...It felt wrong. He had thought if he could just tell himself that this was justice, he would have a stronger resolve for this.
The young man was wrong.
What she was saying was quickly shaking his once strong resolve. Was this all true? Is this really another test to prove his loyalty? Was Magneto as immoral was he has been made out to be? Questions like that flowed into his mind. This would be against all his morals if this were true. He knew that he would have to kill someone with a weapon in hand. But was he really up to it? Maybe. But if he had to face a helpless child or woman or man....Doesn't know what the outcome would be.
He thought long and hard about what he should do. He was only one person can he protect both human and mutant? Yes, the humans did reject him from society but in Japan. He was forced to work hard just to survive. But he didn't really mind. What could he do without betraying Magneto?
He thinks to himself and comes to an idea. Fight alongside his mutant kind, while protecting the innocent humans and not killing the hostile ones. His power, can be used in other ways than just killing. He had the power of lightning after all, it has it's other uses.
When he came back into reality, he hears her talk about the emperor of the time. "That is because the emperor's army wanted to act independently at the time. It was the work of several, either country-loving or power-hungry, generals with their own ideas. Not only did they lose and were imprisoned. They had to live with knowing thousands, even millions dying. And the emperor's title stripped by a foreign policy." He keeps his head up to the sky. "What good will do a man if the one's who fight for him, turn on him?"
She was right and wrong. Honor didn't mean he had to keep his word. It was personal honor and loyalty, and this bounded him. What would be the point of making a promise and swearing alligence only to betray because of ideals and method. He knew sooner or later tensions would burst, into a battle or even a war, it could be help. This heart filled with sadness for the humans and mutants would lose their lives for their beliefs. Hate for fighting and those who made the tensions. And more hate for himself, for joining so blindly. But he didn't know if there were any where else he could go now.
He looked down at the ground. "My word...Is worth my life, once I make a promise I will never ok back on it. It is a good and bad thing, I suppose. And my duty is to protect and perserve as much peace as I can. I thank you for placing your concern on me Lilja." He felt his heart and mind sink to darkness, confused on what he should do. He looked back up to the dark sky. He now felt he didn't deserve the title of Byakurai.
To lighten the mood between the two he casually changed the subject. If she was truly concerned for his well being, which he kind of doubted, due to what he knew about her, he didn't wish to worry for him. "I am envious of the clouds and stars. Aren't you?"

" Glancing up, Corpse closed her eyes while smiling. It was as if she was silently laughing, but not at Hiro but rather at his predicament. He'd been given his daily information for the day, and it was up to him to make his decision ultimately about it. Honor sometimes had to betray for the greater good. " I do not speak of turning against a man, but of saving him from the darkness.," she admitted. " You seem like the sort of person who specializes in such things, and helping one from their plight is a lot more heroic than supporting them in their mayhem." Ah, the sky. Lilija looked upwards, opening her eyes and lowering the smile on her face while doing so. " Not really.," she replied. " If you think about it, they're doing the same thing as we do - gazing at us."[/ul]

"Ari--....Thank you for your kindness towards me. Lilja, you yourself are a very kind person." He said sincerely for once.
"To tell you the truth...He and a few others saved me from the darkness. I thought...I was always going to be alone." He tries to keep this short remembering what she had told him. "In other words, I had no sense of belonging and now I do. I will do my best to do what is right."
This was true, the stars could be looking back at them. "Yea, your right. But they seem to be much more carefree than us."

," she remarked, throwing a little cynical sarcasm at the end there. " Hiro, to belong you merely have to find a place. You don't need people, just a purpose. If you're good at sewing, that is what you do. If you're good at running, that is what you do. And if you're good at making others feel good about themselves, then that is where you belong." Lilija wasn't a scholar of psychology or logic, but she did pride herself on being smart enough to analyze things from every angle and position. This was just another way of getting to know Hiro, and for him to see what she saw, for him to realize the depth of which he was associated with and in for the long haul. " You don't get that from any man, including Magneto, even the stars know that. That is why they stay where they are, fulfilling their purpose."[/ul]

At this point, listening to her words. The young man knew, he knew that there was going to be violence. There would be no going back if he fought even if he saved lives. What was his purpose in this life? He knew that even if he had saved countless lives there will be people who hate him for being on the other side. He longed for people to recognize him for what he could do, to be the hero every one looked up to and loved. This was a dream, he finally came to realize, will never happen.
He listened her word once more, and again she made a piece of the puzzle for him. He didn't need people, what he needed was a purpose. A purpose to have a reason for being who he is and living. Just purpose alone, can justify truth, justice, and honor. Or so he thought. The young man knew what he had to do now. He was with Magneto, but he doesn't want to kill and wants to protect. That is what he is going to do. In other words he will fight for Magneto and will do what is necessary to not kill.
"Then I will fulfill my purpose, in my means." He said softly not revealing much to her of what his intentions were in case, she was really a spy or something. "Will you fulfill yours?"

," she quipped. " You'll be a part of and do things you wouldn't normally partake in, but even worse. You may have to become the very thing you fear most... a monster." If one killed long enough, they became desensitized. By experiencing little feeling anymore, the individual became a monster. If Hiro wanted to remain with the Brotherhood, then all aspects of honor would be vanquished under the tarp of death. He didn't seem to see that, but Lilija did and felt a tad bit of remorse if Hiro lost his way of honor; Bushido, the Way of the Samurai. " My purpose is rather simple. I do whatever it takes to wake up the next day, even if that means going against my own moral code. I'd like to say I'm fulfilling it..." And that is where she differed from Byakurai.[/ul]

He pops his neck a bit. "Ay...." He said relaxing the tension in his neck. He placed his hand on his neck. "Things are never easy are they? If things were, I wouldn't have to deal with." He lowers his head slowly. "If it is to be so. Then I will have no choice but to be engulfed by the monster."
He now knew what he was getting into. In his code he had to be loyal to the ends. Killing came natural to humans, the feelings lie dorment in their minds. Some embrace that darkness wrongly and become murderers. Other are engulfed in it and they become crazied and disgustings. He was mentally preparing himself if that ever will happen.
Killing without purpose is murder. Killing with purpose is justice. If forced, killing for your beliefs is honor. Killing for whom you serve, only if they ask to, is loyalty. He kept thinking that, to keep himself firm and strong in his own strength.
"Everyone has their own reason to live." He said softly. "Everyone is, after all, unique in their own way."

," she admitted, finding the idea of giving up your own existence for something as foolish. " Even if the idea comes off as heroic or sentimental, you will die and be unable to protect that which lingers behind." Death was something constantly on Lilija's mind, what with her powers and all. Still Hiro did not know what she could do, and so he wouldn't quite grasp her intimacy with the Grim Reaper. Lilija Eiriksson could cheat death by bringing somebody back, returning them from the other side for a second, third, or even one hundredth chance. It was overwhelming to think about, but when it is all you have, you get used to the weight. " Yes, to live. To die means failure, even if your cause was noble."[/ul]

"At least I will have no regrets and be content on what I can or can't do. I will die sooner or later. Maybe even sooner than later, who knows? I might as well live it doing what I believe in right?" He stated calmly. Unknowing why Lilja was so intent in believe that. But every one has a reason why they become as such.
"Then all will become failures, dear Lilja." He said letting out a sigh. "Everyone dies. So why not do what they believe in. Or live their life to the fullest. Unless well your immortal. Meaning you will never fail in life." He said with a small chuckle. "But you will be most depress to see every one live to die." He looks over to her and into her eyes. "What kind of life do you live if you only live to see another day closer to death? And not die doing something noble that you will be happy about in the last moments your life?" He said in a serious and calm tone of voice.

," she said, eyes once more closing as she released a sigh. Not of depression or frustration, but of relief, relief to be able to talk without any pressure and bias. " To live one way is to miss out on another. That is why I do what I must to wake up tomorrow morning, because if I clung to a single direction... I would not have that security.," Lilija admitted, eyes opening to take in her surroundings once more before, finally, coming to rest on Hiro. " We all do die, yes. But how we die is in our control; the circumstances, the events leading up to it, and our own decisions. That is what determines if we are a success or failure, if we can avoid death until we've accomplished everything - not just what we believe is just. To do that is to be as dead here as you will be eventually."[/ul]

He smiles, they were finally in agreement. "I agree with yo on that one, miss Lilja." He stated softly. "I guess I understand your logic there." He said as she started to reveal a little more of herself. He wasn't one to judge, he accepts everyone for what they believe in. He wasn't going to deny anyone's logic.
"Well sense how I die is in my control. I would want to die doing something I loved or believed in. Wouldn't you?" He asked curiously. "If I am going to die tonight or tomarrow. I might as well do so. I just want my last moments to be happy. The bitter part of life won't matter as long as I die happy."

answer. " That would be nice, but it isn't practical.," she said, answering Hiro's question to her. " If I died doing something I loved, then I'd have to blame my passion for my death. Kind of a tough way to go, don't you think?" This was why Lilija expressed different ways and multiple experiences, so that you could vanish with positive feelings of what you enjoyed doing. Any other way, it was pointless to conceive.[/ul]

A plan entered his mind. The young man began to become a bit ambitious. But debated whether or not to go through with it. As he thought, it would be better to keep things simple, at least for now. It could just be all the hype of changing from one lifestyle to another in such a short time. He raised his hand to the sky and closed his hand into a fist. From his view, it looked like he had a grip on the stars themselves, and it gave him a peace of mind.
He lowers the hand to cover his face. Keeping his voice audible, so she can understand what he is saying. "It is better to die with a peace of mind. Instead of waiting, with fear, for the darkness to engulf you. Just waiting until you see yourself dive into darkness. Can drive you into insanity. I, in a personal manner, think that would be a even worst way to die."
