As he walked along, Davis began to whistle an old song whose name he couldn't remember at the moment. Games, games, games, no time for games anymore. Either action was taken and word was trusted or shit could hit all the windmills as he walked on with his life. But his casual stroll was stopped at the insult spewing from the green haired vixen's mouth. He couldn't help but smirk at her words since they were just so damn amusing. Davis turned around placing a hand in his pocket, strolled back to the vicinity of the two lovely ladies, and then cocked his head at the sound of breaking metal. He looked her square in the face all smiles. She was pissed... so what.
Like she was the first person to ever be pissed at him. Back in the day pissing people off was a something of a hobby of his. "If you say so, sheila. Don't go blowing a gasket on us cause you might not get ya way." Was it wise to tempt fate... hell no, but Davis could handle the situation if need be. "Chill."

Claire turned to look at the woman and scoffed, she realized that this woman did not know how to keep cool in times of need. Putting her bag on her shoulder she sighed crossing her arms,"Listen Polaris. Just because I refuse to succumb to your every whim." Hearing the metal shrink Claire shook her head as she turned to walk away but keeping her mind at attention for an attack.

" Rak, rak, rak~!So Polaris, Mistress of Magnetism, would have to step up her game and show these two knuckleheads why they should follow her. It wasn't something Lorna hadn't foreseen, just something the green-haired one sought to avoid... well, okay, not really. As much as the next gifted individual, Polaris was down for a brawl; even if it would arouse suspicion and the attention of him. Rak, rak, rak~!" You're blinded and proud.," she stated, body beginning to rise upwards from the surging amounts of electro-magnetism coursing through her flesh and veins. Her skin pulsated with said currents, radiating outwards and, possibly, tangible to the senses of the two mutants nearby. " I'll just have to fix that, won't I?" Ka-Shroooooshk~!!!Hesitating she did not, Lorna's right hand lashed outwards, sending a bolt of current at Slipstream's chest. Sure, he could probably dodge it, but she wanted him to - that's what her left hand was for. It would turn palm side up, fingers curling back, and immediately channel an orb of energy; continually growing at that, in size, density, and raw output. What it did, one could only guess, but it was certain it couldn't be good. " Fight me with the teachings of fools, and see how long you last. Show me I'm wrong about Xavier and the wench..." Confidence flowed across Lorna's tongue, then was silenced with a smile.[/ul]

Pissing off Polaris... yep, it was a bad idea. But Davis doubted that she would actually go far enoug to kill them. I mean why wuld she waste her time trying to recruit him, and then turn around and kill the man off before he served whatever purpose she had for him. But that floating trick was pretty sweet. His powers were mainly for transportation. They helped in a fight every now and then. The boy's eyes went wide when a source of energy slammed right into his chest. The force sent him flying onto his back. He placed a hand on his chest to try and massage away the pain. "Alright... that hurt."
He struggled to stand back up. Since she wanted to fight, they'd continue it in a more secure spot so no one else would get hurt. "Yea yea, let's get this squabble over with somewhere else." Davis opened a portal that engulfed all three of them. One second they were in Central Park, the next.... a desert outside of Las Vegas. There was nothing around for miles but sand and dirt. The perfect place. "Alright then, sheila, make your move."

Looking around in the schorching heat, Claire sheilded her eyes from the sun. Her pale white skin would easily get burned for sure in the desert sun. Looking around seeing that Davis had transported them here with his ability. Knowing that Polaris was pissed and Claire was getting that way with the way she was talking about the X-men and Xavier. Sighing as she looked around not knowing what to do with her powers. She could see a few scorpions nearby and could see a mama fox and her babies huddled under a dead log. Deciding to ask the scorpions for their assistance, Claire opened her mind to them.My fellow friends. In a few minutes I will need your assistance, if you would kindly help me, I will protect your home here as well. Quickly clattering around and with quick snapping of their incisors the scorpions agreed to help her out.

To Lorna, Davis was an insecure punk who tried too hard to be indifferent. His tough guy attitude and slang only assured this assumption, if not absolutely securing it. As for Claire, Lorna viewed the girl as ignorant and incapable of doing anything without another's reference. Though in the duo's defense, they hadn't backed down or changed their tone with her, and because of that Polaris wouldn't horribly disfigure them. While these thoughts raced, the Australian had teleported them to a desert. Okay, so it wasn't a place Lorna had been, but it shouldn't take long to get accustomed to this place. After all, it was just a barren strip of land with scavengers fighting one another for what little food and moisture existed. Funny, Polaris considered a deep-meaning quip here but pushed it aside, instead focusing on the two mutants before her. " Really?," she asked suddenly, glancing to Claire for only a moment, while rising into the sky several feet. " This is home field advantage to you?" Sure it kept them away from people, but if Davis stuck to the books like his sister, then he'd know something bad was going to happen. " I will say this once, and only once... you have a single chance to bring me down, if you don't... I will make sure you never forget that failure." If Slipstream and Blue Angel had any hope of getting out untouched, they'd had better do something now and first![/ul]

Trying to take on Polaris outright was just stupid in all honesty, especially when your powers where speaking to animals and teleporting. There wasn't much either of them could do to her at the moment. More than likely the daughter of magnetism would have up some kind of barrier making a straight on fist and foot attack useless so that idea went out the window. Davis looked around the barren area for a moment before looking back to Polaris as she rose into the air. Ah crap, all kinds of hell were about to be unleashed. There wasn't any metal around, but she didn't really need there to be. Damn damn damn...
Davis was just happy that no civilians were around to be caught in the crossfire. But still, Claire. Then again she had chosen to fight so... yea. "Come on now, sheila. Why can't we be friends?" And just like that, the Aussie broke out into the song of the same name. Was this some sort of strategy or secret master plan to throw her off her game or something of the nature? Knowing Davis... hell nal.

Claire hated fighting just like everyone else. She didn't want to harm anyone, but she would refuse to disobey Xavier. The X-men were her family. She knew that she had to be able to prove herself to them but she didn't want to harm the animals in the desert. Looking over at Davis as she brushed a strand of her red hair back she sighed, " Maybe you're right. We need to talk this out." She knew talking to Polaris was probably not an option but she would rather do that then someone get hurt. The thought of someone getting injured due to pointless fighting angered her.

in the mood for silly games or childish songs. There would be no more talking, only action: Rak, rak, rak~!!!" ..." Silence. Polaris was not speaking, but she didn't have to. Immediately a crackling choir of tendrils lashed out at both Davis and Claire, all of them connected to the electro-magnetic orb-shaped barrier erected around her. Face displaying concentration and annoyance, Lorna's left hand went to work directing her symphony of destruction. If they took the hit, they'd find a violent surge of electrical pain snaking through their bodies, possibly causing their internal organs to go into cardiac arrest, or worse - work at half, or no capacity. The intention wasn't to kill, oh no, it was to humble the duo before royalty and power. But if they dodged, well, that's why Lorna had two hands, but she'd wait and see how the pawns moved upon her chess board.[/ul]

Ah hell. That was the first thing that cam to mind when he witnessed Polaris flare up. This was not going to end well for either of them if something wasn't done and done fast. With a quick glance around the empty desert, Davis searched for something to use against her. He got the idea of porting a speeding bus right at her, but that could backfire in so many ways since buses are made of metal. Before the next thought could come, he was forced to open a portal in front of himself and Claire allowing the tendrils to vanish into. Since they were connected to the orb surrounding Polaris, Davis opened another portal directly behind her so that the tendrils would exit out to attack her. Hopefully that would work out how he wanted it to.
While the green haired vixen was distracted with that, Davis warped to another location. A millisecond later he appeared in the middle of an ocean. Opening up another portal in his position, gallons of water flowed into it like a funnel. A few seconds later yet another portal appeared over Polaris dropping the gallons of water onto her. Davis got it into his head that since she was using electric based attacks, water would work as a great counterattack... just as long as said water actually made it onto her. Davis himself was now standing back besides Claire. That whole operation only took a few seconds to accomplish.

Claire looked at Polaris, seeing the anger in the woman's eyes. Claire wasn't the toughest of fighters, but she did know how to fight. Seeing the tendrils come at her and Davis, she prepared herself to dodge the attack. Before she could do that she saw Davis open a portal in front of them and one behind Polaris, the tendrils attacking her. Claire was surprised that he protected her. She shook her head knowing there wasn't a lot of wildlife in the desert, she was at a disadvantage. Claire knew she would have use her martial arts training to show the green haired woman something if she could.

" Lorna never finished, immediately what seemed like an endless supply of force slammed atop of her. In seconds, that precious electro-magnetic shield was being put to the test, and so long as Lorna was able-bodied she'd do her best at keeping it up. Unfortunately for Magneto's eldest, that required a great sacrifice on her part, meaning she could not attack and instead was focused on enduring this falling water. I can easily absorb my own energy...Which she did, adding to her shield's power. ... but I can't attack...So long as Slipstream's oceanic downpour continued, Lorna was forced to stand - hover - in place. If either one of the two, Davis or Claire, decided to attack, now would be the time. Hell, Polaris was now raising her arms upwards to keep her shield strong, she couldn't physically defend herself! " Eeeerrrrgggghhhh!," shrieked Genosha's banshee. It was apparent from the tone of voice and facial expression that Polaris was mad, no, pissed. RAK, RAK, RAK~!Her powers were working overtime now, if she failed then the logical conclusion was to be fried. Already the torrential pressure was taking a toll, evident by the grunts and snarls emitting from behind Lorna's clenched teeth. RAK, RAK, RAK~!!" When this stops... I SWEAR!!!" One could only wonder what horrors the Mistress of Magnetism had in store.[/ul]
