," she said, unwilling to judge the man for how he chose to live. But from the sounds of it, Chance did not waste anything he ate or wore, so that put him a peg above so many others. Lilija was not too picky about music, after all she had said if it sounds good she's fine. But Tamer did have a point, the ruthless screaming and the lack of balance between music and lyrics was a big turn off, so much so she found herself nodding. " Yes.," the woman agreed, before going into her own elaboration. " I never grasped the logic behind making your voice unable to be heard clearly, especially when bands write lyrics. If a brutal sound is what you aim for, do it." God, Lilija placed such bands at the bottom of her list, but at least their instrumentals sounded all right. " A few things.," she admitted, smirking lightly after doing so. " Mostly dumb jokes about Iceland being icy, when in fact it is not. Blond jokes, too, especially the bad ones. I tend to view the motive behind the joke as being more important than the joke itself, as it reveals a lot about a person."[/ul]

Chance held up his glass in a bit of a salute and grinned over at her. At least she wasn't judging him on it, nor was she going into more detail. For once he was grateful. He smirked a bit at her comment about music and he had to nod in agreement. "Or the lyrics that don't make any sense at all. You know what I mean? Like they just put the words down because they rhymed. I don't care for that much either." He actually prefered songs that had some sort of meaning.
"I actually did learn something from a movie. 'Greenland is ice, Iceland is nice.' The Mighty Ducks 2. Yes I'm admitting to having seen the Mighty Ducks movies. You can laugh at will. I only tell dumb blond jokes about actual dumb blondes. Never about the intelligent ones of which I knwo a few." He winked over at her and took a sip of his drink.

" Lilija hated people who did that, promoting stupidity to the masses. It reminded her of politicians and mainstream media, including movies and television shows as well. Who in the hell actually watched The Hills enough to get it past the first episode? Tempted to smash a bottle against her head, Lilija instead closed her eyes, counted to five, and resumed the conversation. " The Mighty Ducks, huh?" Lilija found that comment worthy of a smile, but one she made vanish as quickly as a hummingbird's wing. " Strangely enough, I actually enjoyed that movie. I would dare say it was better than the original, though the third has grown on me over the years." Wow, were they really about to have a conversation about The Mighty Ducks in a Boston club?[/ul]

"Definitely prefered the second one above all. Loved the Bash Brothers. The third one I was a bit disappointed in, but it wasn't so bad. Didn't much care for the fact that Bombay wasn't really in it. But you know. What other kinds of movies do you like?" He motioned for the waitress to get them another round as he finished his drink. Oddly enough he really didn't think the conversation was all that odd. "Are you hungry? They have some great nachos and hot wings here."

thing.," she said, making sure to note to Chance they had, so far, been fairly agreeable on almost everything. " The Bash Brothers was most interesting, though I liked the concept. It really was a nice way to expand the story, and facing my own country was most rewarding, considering we Icelanders are not known for much.," she nodded, a slight smile on her face from all this talk of a film that, well, was watched during her childhood back home in Vik. " But my favorite of the second film was the Knuckle Puck, very funny and very challenging for me to try and replicate as a child. After the fiftieth time, I broke my stick and quit!" Lilija had totally forgot about the third film, but now went back to it. " Oh, yes. The third film, it was not the same in aesthetics, but it had that underdog spirit. The scene versing the Varsity team, very powerful, and definitely the high point of the entire film. I very much liked the sentimentality of Charlie having to overcome his separation from Bombay, it made the film all the more heart warming.," she admitted, probably be the only time she did so to anything warming her heart. Food? " Sure. Back home, we do not have a chance to eat these things you Americans take for granted, these nachos and hot wings."[/ul]

Chance grinned over at her when she made that comment. "So, we do. I think this has to be a first." He winked at her to let him know that he was teasing her. It was rare that he actually did have something in common with a girl. At least on some so, well... normal.
"Bash Brother's were awesome, I loved the little Bash Brother. I forgot about the Knuckle Puck. Oh, yeah, that had to suck. You never pulled it off?" He chuckled a bit hearing she actually tried to do it.
"I don't know, the third one just bothered me for some reason. I mean it just didn't feel like a Mighty Ducks movie. You know? It had the basic elements but without Bombay and Charlie going kind of whiney it just lost the glue that held it all together. You know what I mean?"
When she agreed to food he grinned at how she said you Americans, then he shrugged. He loved his nachos and hot wings. He put in two orders of each just to give them something to snack on for a bit.

," she admitted, eyes looking down at the table, almost as if ashamed. Her tone resumed its typical calmness, unlike it had been when mentioning her failures in performing the Knuckle Puck. " But it isn't very likely to happen, and according to hockey players, impossible." Then again, resurrecting the dead wasn't supposed to be very likely to happen or possible either. While it was true the third had very little Bombay, he was in there and for a decent amount of time. Just nothing like the previous two, and Charlie... well... " I'll give you Charlie being a bit on the moody side, but it makes perfect sense if you think about it. Bombay was practically a father to him, so when he left, why would Charlie act any other way? I think most people who watch the films dislike the third because, well, they don't like letting go and admitting something has come to an end. Like childhood, so many miss it and detest anything new because of that, it slowly eroding at and eating away their memories." If the snacks didn't fill them up, then that big ol' piece of psychology should. It was indeed a mouth full.[/ul]

"Nothing is impossible, just highly improbable. Who knows maybe now that you are older you might be able to figure it out." Chance just shrugged, what he can do is supposedly impossible, but the can do it. So he really believed that nothing was impossible. Improbable yes but never impossible.
"I'll concede to your point. It sucks when you get to know characters and they change. It's like when you look at your best friend and realize you don't know them anymore. It hurts and you want things to go back to how they used to be." He sighed softly and eats some of the nachos and wings. Or you find out you are a mutant and everything changes. Forutnately, he was very good at adapting to the situation at hand. Much like he had tonight.

," she chided, looking at Chance before glancing down at her nachos and hot wings. Lilija had seen them before, but never really partook in the devouring of such commodities. Better late than never she thought, as a nacho was dipped in a little bit of cheese and placed between her lips. " Not bad.," she confessed, already beginning to heavily chew the Latin chip. " I suppose I can give it another try, maybe you'd be willing to help?" Not so much an actual offer of learning the Knuckle Puck as an invitation for some witty saying, which Lilija was expecting. If not, that was fine too, but Chance struck her as genuine, at least right now. But that didn't mean Lilija believed what somebody was at one time was how they were all the time. " Bad experiences?," she asked at the best friend comment. She had no idea, but it was somewhere to take the conversation.[/ul]

”Got to be optimistic in this world. If not you might miss out on something. Some people call it magic other’s call them miracles. They happen, maybe one will happen for you and you can be the first to truly do the Knuckle Puck.” He shrugged and took a sip of his beer before eating a hot wing. There was no harm in dreaming or trying as long as you didn’t obsess about it.
Chance grinned when she liked the nachos. ”Now you know why I come here, truly. The nachos and wings are the bomb.” He grinned and winked a friendly wink at her. When she asked if he’d help with the Knuckle Puck he grinned. ”Sure, I’ll watch the movie again and see if I can figure out how he did it.” He was grinned at her but he was serious. He nodded softly at her question about his experience with best friends changing. ”Yup he met a girl and suddenly the rest of us weren’t important. He actually started insulting us the way his girlfriend and her friends did. You know, immature, doing this or that was stupid, why don’t we grow up.” Shakes his head and sighs softly as he eats another nacho.

," she admitted. " Get too happy, you risk falling hard. Get too sad, you risk never getting up. So I stay in the middle, helps keep me focused." Lilija wasn't one to be perky or gloomy, and she wasn't too fond of either trait in a person. God forbid if they went from one extreme to the other, it was very likely she'd strangle them to death. But Chance, he wasn't exactly happy-go-lucky and for that, she'd tolerate the male. " Yeah, but the food can't be the only reason." Of course not, it'd be silly to think some chips and chicken kept someone coming back. That's what the guys said who ate at Hooter's, that it wasn't the babies in tight outfits, it was just the food. Yeah, right. " But they're worth sticking around for, I suppose." Ah, the Knuckle Puck. " Sure, if you don't mind watching a child's movie. What would they," she remarked, hinting at the female groupies all over the place, " think?"[/ul]

”Really all depends on what I need at the time period. I tend to use them as tools of self preservation. “ He shrugged and motioned for two new drinks as he finished off his. ”The food isn’t the only reason. Escapism is a big part of it. In here I can forget about out there and just let my mind go. It works well for me when I don’t want to meditate.” He grinned and winked at her as he took another hot wing.
His head turned to look at the girls in question and he shrugged. ”If I cared what they thought I’d be with them right now. I have no issues watching the movie again. I like it, why would I not?” It really didn’t matter to him what people thought. He liked what he liked and they could kiss his ass if they didn’t like it.

was interesting, the once seemingly boyish Chance admitting to an escape? Lilija couldn't help but smirk, which eventually turned into a smile. " Escape?," she asked. " From what?" In all her life, Lilija Eiriksson ran from nothing. Then again, how could she living on that island prison? But for all it was worth, she did desire the freedom of leaving, to be able to once say nothing kept her confined like the crashing shores. Thankfully, the Brotherhood - in the form of Quicksilver - had granted her just that. Now, here she was in Boston, thousands upon thousands of miles from Magneto's Utopia, talking with a city slicker. How fascinating... " A fair answer.," she remarked, but only before resuming. " But not really taking into account typicality, and how everyone cares to some degree. I mean, if nobody cared, we wouldn't even be having this conversation." Curiously, Corpse had to think about what concerned her. A few things, but none that were worn publically like a birth mark or new outfit. No, such things remained within, and only were released at the appropriate times. " Though I do find it nice to hear such a thing from you, I do remain baffled as to what fuels your not-to-care attitude."[/ul]

”Reality, the world at large, stress of the day, things to that nature is what it helps escape from. While still maintaining face to face contact and not hiding behind a computer screen.” Chance just shrugged. He’d much rather be out with living, breathing, visible people while escaping reality. He supposed if you didn’t have confidence or faith in yourself, he could see why people would hide behind the screen. But he’d much rather get out there and actually learn about those he meets.
Chance just kind of quirked his brow at her comment. It seemed that Lilija was quite philosophical. At her non-question, question the young man leaned back and thought about it. ”If I started caring what very person thought, or at least those that aren’t close to me, then I’d never be happy. I’d be too busy trying to please them all that I’d lose myself, and that ain’t happenin’.” Chance shrugged and looked at her. ”I can’t live my life feeling trapped and caged. It doesn’t have to be a physical one, a mental or emotional cage is just as suffocating. I care what these people think and I may as well just give up. I don’t know them, they aren’t close to me, their opinions don’t matter.” He shrugged since he knew that most would chalk it up to a screw you attitude and he really didn’t care. If people could respect his beliefs then he didn’t see wasting time, but he had a feeling Lilija might actually understand where he’s coming from.

," she remarked. " I've yet to meet someone make so much out of so little. Your methods are easy enough for a child, but the motives complex enough for a sage. Bravo, sir." A little humor at the end there with the 'Bravo, sir', but good natured nonetheless. Lilija had no reasoning to be harmful or negative to Tamer, he hadn't done anything - and for a second she almost felt like apologizing for her earlier cold shoulder, but went against it - since the two met. " I think similarly. Only I care just enough to know their opinion, because you can't always trust yourself.," she chuckled. " If you ever begin slipping to the Dark Side, you won't have a fail safe, as your shadowed self will tell you anything to make you feel good. I tend to think of people as gauges, with some having special privileges." Corpse knew where Tamer was coming from, especially due to how familiar he made her feel with all that he said. Of course there were minor differences, but it kept things fresh and interesting. " Tell me, do you walk the path of the Jedi or the Sith?," she asked, obviously referring back to the 'Dark Side' remark. But there was a serious observation to be made, not only on what he answered but how he answered as well.[/ul]
