It took Chance a few moments to realize that she wasn’t actually making fun of him. He wasn’t sure how he felt about her comment, was it like saying he made a mountain out of a mole hill or was it truly a compliment? ”I honestly don’t mean for it to fall out that way. I just know myself very well. Nothing is ever as truly simple as we’d like to believe. There’s always something complex behind the motive even if it is just the personality and mind behind it. I mean look at art. Simple circles on a white canvas could mean a multitude of things depending on who’s looking at it.” The young man just shrugged and looked up as the drinks were brought. He took a drink from his and looked over at her. ”I’m quite simple in my complexity, or quite complex in my simplicity.” With that he winked at her.
”Ah see now I trust myself completely. If I second guess myself I’m screwed. You don’t have to care about their opinions in order to make a rational decision you could just take them into consideration. The dark side wouldn’t want me, I’m too vain, couldn’t handle the fall out on my looks.” He smirked over at her and winked to let her know he was just teasing a bit with his next words. ”Jedi, they need some style.”

," she said. " Anyone else can say what they will, but it doesn't change what the image is supposed to be. If people refuse to accept what the artist has put down, they're just stubborn." Lilija wasn't too fond of stubborn people, despite being slightly like that herself. Ironic really, and a dash of hypocrisy. " I don't always trust myself, which is why I tend to have regrets at times.," she admitted. " To me, a regret is you realizing you trusted yourself when you really shouldn't. So I take into account what others say, even if it comes off as totally wrong or ignorant." The Jedi remark got a smirk out of her, and of course she had to reply. " A Jedi, huh? I don't know, you look more the Darth Maul type to me."[/ul]

Chance leaned back and looked at her. He smirked just a bit and sipped his drink. ”It ultimately matters what I think. Anyone can say what they will but it won’t change who I am. People are artists and our life is what we paint and the world is our canvas. So if people refuse to accept me and all my quirks, well then they are just being stubborn.” He grinned and winked at her figuring she was going to get pissed off about he put that. But then that was him and one of his quirks.
”See now me, I’d rather have the regret and make the mistake. Kind of like self reflection it makes me see what I need to work on or where I might need to mature. Kind of like using them as trail markers through this journey we call life. “ He ate another wing and at her comment about being a Darth Maul type he clutched at his heart and gave an exaggerated gasp. ”That hurts, really it does. I already told you I was too damn good looking to be a Sith… Though the guy had some mad fighting skills.” He grinned and winked at her.

," she asked. Though it was interesting to hear Chance speak so confidently of himself, it was a nice change of pace. Usually Corpse ran into arrogant or sob story people, so she practically welcomed this with open arms. " That does make sense, with us sitting here talking about it. Though some mistakes probably aren't worth the trouble, like the loss of somebody's life or losing an arm or leg.," she explained, tone never really wincing to show any sort of sympathy in her examples. " But something like failing a test, sure. You'd learn to study or take an easier professor." Tamer certainly was enjoying himself, though she was too. " Maul was attractive in his own sort of way.," she smirked, enjoyment still evident in her voice. " If it wasn't for the concept of predestination - Episodes IV through VI - he should have lived, but we can blame George Lucas for that. Allowing Maul to be a cheap ratings and merchandise gimmick."[/ul]

”Point taken, but as long as you take something back from it. Some bit of knowledge or experience then it was still a learning event. There is no sense in hating your life unless you have become something you fear or despise. Regrets and success are reminders of what you need to fix in yourself and how well you fixed them.” He as starting to babble a bit and sighed. ”I’m totally blaming this on the beer. Just remember that.” Chanced grinned and took another sip.
Chance’s brow quirked when she said Maul was attractive in his own way. ”Intense, ass kicking bad boy. I guess I can see how you’d think he was attractive. But still.. look at this face I’m too damn pretty to go Sith.” He chuckled at her and shrugged. Honestly, he was a decent kid and would be what he would consider a grey area where Jedi are concerned. ”Everything is a marketing gimmick these days. Nothing is sacred anymore.” He shook his head and sighed taking another chip.

," she remarked, responding directly to Chance's comments. " I can see you're a thinker, or at the very least a slick talker." In an odd sort of way, Corpse was complimenting him. Then again, most con artists met that criteria as well, so it was hit or miss. " If I went by looks, I'd be a shallow person. I look at it like a car, as long as it runs and has the features I like, I'm fine. What the exterior is means little, as a car is nothing if it only sits and doesn't run." Lilija wasn't an automobile expert, but it was the best comparison she could make. " And besides, he had a dual lightsaber. That tends to speak volumes more than lifting a X-Wing out of a swamp, you know?," she asked, obviously enjoying herself. First the Mighty Ducks, and now Star Wars.[/ul]

”I like to think I’m a little bit of both actually. A slick talker until I can figure what I am truly saying.” He winked and grinned to let her know he was only half teasing. There were times that he just talked to get his thought process going. Then there were times he didn’t need to because he already knew what he wanted to say. The young man knew himself very well and that had a lot to do with it. Most people don’t have that level of understanding about themselves.
”This is going to make me sound very bad and I apologize. But that’s what a lot of these girls remind me of, great body but nothing under the hood. Good for a quick trip around the block but nothing I’d want to take on a road trip. That being said, as I said early nothing is sacred anymore. Most of these girls have gone commercial in their own way. Practically selling themselves to the highest bidder and that’s extremely disheartening.” Chance wouldn’t settle for anyone that had to rely on their looks or sex. That wasn’t what built a relationship which is why he was fairly picky about who he sleeps with.
They’ve moved on to another movie… awesome. He holds up a finger. ”Ah but wait… Yes he killed a Jedi master with his awesome dual lightsaber. But he got killed by a padawan. Totally negates the cool factor. Now as wussy as Obi Wan is, for the most part, nothing beats the Jedi Mind trick. I’d so love to be able to do that.” Slips into his ‘Jedi’ voice. ”You do not want me to ‘put a ring on it’.” He chuckled and took at drink blue eyes sparkling to show that he was just kidding around… sort of.

," she smirked, deciding to playfully challenge Tamer's remarks of being both a slick talker and a thinker. " Not too often you met a male who can multi-task, I'm impressed." Ooooh, ouch. Not meant to insult Chance, but to up the ante and get a little feisty behavior going, that comment was made. Lilija liked sharp wit, it was definitely one the drawing factors a person could have with her, and Chance did not disappoint. In fact, he was rather on top of his game, a fact not unnoticed by Lilija. " No offense taken." Ding, ding, ding! " Well, perhaps. If Episodes IV through VI had not existed, I do believe Maul would have prevailed. Again, that predestination.," she laughed out, but softly and in an enjoyable sort of manner. " As fancy as Jedi mind tricks are, you can't top Force lightning.," Lilija said while gesturing with her right hand, fingers wiggling to demonstrate pretend streams of electricity. Yeah, she could be playful too. And counter his pesky heroic tactics![/ul]

Chance smirked at her multitask comment. It was true most of them were one track minded and usually revolves around girls and or sex. ”I’m special what can I say? I always knew I was above and beyond, just glad someone else finally noticed it to.” He smirked again and winked letting her know he was just teasing. It actually took quite a bit yet very little to offend Chance, it really just all depended on the topic. He knew guys were mainly dicks hell he could be one too when he was riled, so it didn’t really bother him in the slightest.
”At least we know we haven’t offended it each other.” He grinned at her and then thought about her comment. ”As long as they kept Ray Park playing him I could see it. But you know damn good and well they’d have gotten some other shmuck and then we’d all wish that Maul really had died in that first film.” He took another drink and looked down at the empty plates in front of him. Well shit. His eyes narrowed when she made fun of the mind trick. Then he smirked. ”As much of a Sithy boy as he was, nothing beat Vader’s like choke hold. That was just freaking awesome and you knew as soon as his hand came up you were going to die. Kind of like the first three cords of Garth Brook’s Friends in Low Places. As soon as you hear them you know what song is coming.”

" Lilija asked it not in terms of sexually, but in general. She had learned not to assume anyone was into one gender or the other, and best not to offend someone by leaving it open-ended when asking. " You seem to handle being around them quite well, or at least in the club environment." Ah, Star Wars. Tamer mentioned the Force choke of Darth Vader's which, while interesting, was a little cruel, but interesting nonetheless. " Yeah, I suppose so. It does have a purpose, but do you really think you'll die to that song of Garth Brooks?"[/ul]

Chance looked up at her question and quirked a brow. He then grabbed his drink and sat back a minute and thought about it. She probably wouldn’t like his answer, most didn’t. ”For the most part? You take things way to personally and make it difficult for a guy to get to you. By you I mean the gender in general. We call you beautiful or gorgeous upon first meeting and we get scoffed at and told to buzz off. We call you miss we get griped at as if we called you girl. Call you ma’am and we get griped at for insulting your age. My standard greeting is usually, ‘Hey… beautiful/gorgeous/cutie’ or something along those lines. Feminists ruin us wanting to have much to do with you. Where we were taught it was polite and proper to offer to pay or get the door nowadays get’s us kicked in the jewels. If we flirt it’s automatically assumed that we are trying to get into your pants, and no matter if we are right or not we are the bad guy if you don’t like what we say or do. You want us to be honest and then hate us for our answers. There’s no way we can win against that.” He took another drink and a bit of a breath. ”Now that being said there are a few of you who understand that we don’t mean harm by giving a compliment. We do stumble on a few of you who don’t snap if we make the mistake of thinking you are actually good looking. It’s why I don’t chase the girls, at this point I won’t until I find one actually worth the effort.” He gave a bit of a shrug. ”Overall? I’ve yet to find one that wants me for me and not my money, status, or looks. Like girls, most of us either want to just have fun or are actually looking for someone who doesn’t see us as arm candy to show off to her friends.”
That all being said he motioned for another round of drinks and nachos. He wondered what her reaction to it was going to be. Like most she’d probably slap him and walk off figuring he’d insulted her. If that were the case than that just went to prove his point. She wanted his honest answer and he gave to her. Chance was never one to pull his punches and that tended to turn most girl’s off from even wanting o talk to him. Yes he will tell you if your butt looks big in those pants and they really didn’t like that. ”When it comes to ‘handling’ them you just have to be able to read what type they are. Here it’s easy they want the hook up and the status. Most every person is a type and it’s reading their body language and hearing what’s being said between the lines to figure out what type they are.”
He smirked at her question. ”You obviously never heard a group of drunk city boys singing that song in karaoke. It’s enough to make your ears bleed and cause a brain aneurysm.”

," she said. " And the 'better safe than sorry' mentality is a life saver, though you risk running off a good friend, or more. Women won't take any man that comes along, but more men will take any woman that comes along, especially if she looks good. Experience wise, men had the disadvantage at birth." Lilija didn't carry on the independent woman phase for long, just enough to weed out the jerks and the kind. So far Chance was more along the kind side, so that made him tolerable. Lilija though could only wonder for how long, everyone had that one side of them that was not easily embraced by society, but what was Chance's? " I suppose not. Does that sort of thing happen here often?"[/ul]

Chance nodded and smirked a bit. ”True enough. Although it’s one of the reasons we will take just about anyone. After a while you just kind of resign yourself to the fact that no matter you do it won’t be right. Just do yourself a favor and don’t ask me if something makes your butt look big. If it does I’ll tell you. The main issue I have is that most girls don’t really want the answer. They want us to tell them what they want to hear and then we either get blasted for lying to them, if we tell them what they want. Or we called jerks for not telling them what they want. It’s a no win situation unless you can find that girl that actually knows what she wants. That’s where you get complicated because half the time I don’t think they even know.” He looked up when their new drinks and food arrived. He winked at the waitress and took a drink.
”Karaoke here? Nah this place is all about the dancing and the hook up. But it happens at the karaoke club down the street quite a bit. Either Friends in Low Places or You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling. Both usually ether send me into a fit of laughter or running for the door.”

," she asked, curious as to why Tamer went somewhere if the singing got so bad, he'd either flee or cower in fear. It was a funny image, but one worthy of an answer. " This place seems rather... dull. Not much different from other places, and quite simple. Food, drinks, music, and people come. Hard to believe they can charge for this."[/ul]

”Because it’s funny as hell watching the drunks get up there and do their thing. Then you sometimes have those few that actually can sing very well and makes it worth it.” He shrugged a bit. It was one of those things that you couldn’t really describe. Like watching an accident, you really shouldn’t look but you can’t look away.
Chance looked around and had to agree but then most places were like that if you weren’t looking for a hook up. ”It’s because you aren’t interested in finding a backroom or hotel room with one of these guys. If you were here for that the place would be a fun little mad house candy store for you. They know they don’t have a chance so they aren’t even going to bother.” Unfortunately it was the sad state of affairs when going out to a club with no date or group of friends. Single usually means looking for a hook up and when it doesn’t pan out that way a person gets blown off.
